This was awful and a huge ripoff. All I was looking for was a general checkup and an oil change and was quoted almost $500. It's worth it to just take it somewhere else and pay a fair price than to be... Zobacz więcej

Avoid RepairSmith
I am being generous with one star and that’s only because I don’t have a choice. Customer Service Rep Fazion Davis is TERRIBLE and so is the technician Henry that came to service my vehicle TWICE, and a third time to conduct the warranty inspection following my complaint. I find the fact that the same technician that performed the subpar work also performed the warranty inspection. It’s laughable! This company is in the business of stealing your time and money. I should’ve known better when technician Henry spent 12 hours replacing front brake pads. My neighbors were shocked too. All I want is to be reimbursed for the amount it will take to fix the problem I am still having. I don’t want anyone from this company touching my car again. My car sounds like a trash truck or public transportation bus. I find it interesting to that the dealership and AAA had never heard of the parts Repair Smith used to “fix” my brakes. Oh and Henry also said that I needed new struts which the dealership and AAA said I didn’t need and was charged unnecessarily. If they used the correct parts in the first place, I wouldn’t be having this issue. It’s been so stressful not to mention inconvenient missing days and hours of work due to repairs and cancellations / delays on their end. Terrible, incompetent service and company.
The company cancel a few hours prior to…
The company cancel a few hours prior to my appointment and there's no repercussions. If we cancel my appointment 24 hours prior, they'll charge me $50. Great policy.
Horrible deceptive services
Horrible overall services; incompetent technician; not only indifferent but seemingly ignorant customer service rep.
I didn't have the tools and time to fix a broken aspect of my car. So, I reluctantly decided to pay for the fix by other technician. I had allowed benefit of doubts about Repair Smith; though massive oversight @ my end.
It seemed to be newly emerging industry disruptor to a better end. I was even excited to try out the new market disruptor to the automotive repair industry. My first thought was "I shall be an early adopter; and it even seemed to provide fair pricing."
Big mistake for not going through some of the useful reviews that are plenty out there; for instance, here in trustpilot.
I just fixed it myself, the trouble that the mechanic could not even fathom; the assigned mechanic did not even know what he's talking about. Most of the time I don't even know What TF I'm talking about but was able to fix the d**n issue myself, though.
The guy wasn't even able to tell the difference between my car brand that starts with H to the other H brand. Plus, I only spent 1/3 of the price Repair Smith quoted (including the tools, parts, time, and commuting expenses); not the initial quote but increased quote after the guy incorrectly and only superficially checked(?) on the car. I am not a certified mechanic, but maybe I should apply for the position.
The whole experience was rather waste of my time and energy. On top of that, holding fee of over $150 was allusively absorbed to Repair Smith. Then they were just quiet about it until I had to call and raise the hell with intentionally ignorant call rep.
So, it turns out the organization is not a disruptor to a better end but simply stirring up even worse than whatever flimsy reputation most of the mechanic shops may have. IMO: Bothersome, irksome automotive repair scams in scaled version. I believe they may even be hoping to spread the worseness of the industry to a pandemic level.
Although, in contrast, it may be okay to try engine oil changes and other basic maintenances. But of course, only if the pricing is justifiable, as much as how Repair Smith would boast about.
No, I already made a mistake and paid the price; so I shan't with thee Repair Smith: Dignity, yet no integrity; dishonest with meaningless swankest.
On time and relatively inexpensive.
I needed a serpentine belt changed in my VW and an oil change. I did a google search for these services and RepairSmith showed up. I did an estimate of the price and wow, half the price of my local repair shop and a quarter of the price of the dealer for the belt change. The oil change was a little pricey but saving time is worth money. I was able to keep working and making money the whole time the mechanic was at my home. I made the request at around 6 in the morning, Leo showed up at 8:30 and was done by 9:30. I will be using these guys when I can from now on here in Miami, FL.
Worthless warranty ripoff
I had a repair done by repair smith 08/27/2022. I had an issue with the cooling system that needed repair. Today I had the exact same message pop up on my car so I called them to honor the warranty .
First I was told the warranty does not apply because the last visit was listed as a cooling system diagnosis. I told the "customer service" person NO he did a repair that is how they titled it and to read the notes. Second I was told yes the warranty did apply but there was a service fee to send someone out that amazingly was the exact total repair Smith charged for the initial repair. The warranty is worthless and they try to rip you off if you dare try to use it
Talk about incompetence
Talk about incompetence. I made an appointment for a brake pad replacement.
1. They missed my appointment. Got me waiting for few hours. Nothing new here. It happens.
2. They came few days later. Yeay~~ but they couldn't get the job done because didn't have BMW lug nut, so they used mine. It got sheared off, so they replaced my driver's side pad, but couldn't do on the right. It happens again.
3. Made another appointment at 12pm. They called me that they have everything and it's ready to go. They came 430pm and tells me they still don't have the 'BMW' lug nut and leaves.
So basically over the span of 1 week I wasted total 8 hours of my time. All I wanted was to fix a damn brake pads.
8 hours time is $3600 for me. That's how much I lost. Should've just taken my car to dealer. Will never use this company ever again.
Never ever use this company!!!!!
This is by far the worst company I have ever dealt with. They missed the scheduled appointments 5 times. If you miss an appointment they charge you $50. But when they missed their appointments 5 times they gave us 2 $25 discounts. They did provide a one time $75 discount when I scheduled our first appointment. Also, I received my initial quote of $601.93. Then after their 3rd missed appointment they sent me another quote for $750.01. Very difficult to communicate with. They are based in Los Angeles. I will tell everyone I know to never ever use this company!!!!!!!! A bonafied ripp off
RIP-OFF!!!
Rip off… car sell man who sold me my car was told he had to schedule a appointment so someone could come out to my house to fix the problem I have. So he did come out and drove my car and then I drove it with him, I heard the noise but he said he didn’t and he didn’t even remove the tier to see if something was wrong, so he left.later I was looking at my account and a change was taken, they call it a diagnostic check fee. I could have did what he done and saved my money, I will never use this company service as long as I live because who dose that kind of repair service?A rip-off service they should be named!!!
Scheduled a service & got nothing
Scheduled a front breaks service and didn’t receive. Waited at my home all morning, and Thomas said he was unable to perform the service due to me being unreachable by phone. However, he then went on to claim that he measured my driveway and determined that his work van could not fit, yet failed to knock on my door. You could see I was home from my open living room window from my driveway Thomas said he wouldn’t be able to perform the service anyway because he couldn’t pull in my driveway and that his tools are tool heavy to carry. So in all actuality THOMAS cancelled my appointment and wasted my time this morning because he didn’t want to carry his tools and was too afraid to knock in my door stating that it was “a safety issue.”
What was the “safety issue”??? I have an open fence with no animals/pets, can’t be COVID related because THOMAS was not wearing a face covering, my home didn’t displayed any hazards. Maybe him as a White Man didn’t want to engage or knock on the door of a Black Woman. Not sure what Thomas meant by saying “safety issue”, either way I am absolutely never utilizing Repair Smith again!
I paid them to change spark plugs…
I paid them to change spark plugs because my engine was misfiring. They put plugs that was so cheap they had to come twice and it still was misfiring. I had to go to another company to pay them to do what i already paid repairsmith to do and it worked.
I’ve used them several times and had…
I’ve used them several times and had nothing but good things to say . But this last time was a joke . I called them to schedule an appointment to have my A/C diagnostic done . The first day the tech went thru the truck with the help of my shop manuals that I let him use which I didn’t mind and after about 2 hrs he tells me that he thinks it’s a vacuum leak somewhere and needs to do a vacuum leak test and maybe smoke test to locate the leak and proceeds to tell me that he doesn’t have the test equipment on the truck and will have to come back no big deal . So the next day I get a text telling me the tech is running late and will be there between 2 & 4 instead of 10 and 12 .when he finally arrives I ask him if he’s here to do the vacuum check and smoke check he say’s that what the order says in a smug arrogant way .He then proceeds to get his ladder out I tell him I change a few components and then he says I’m not even suppose to work or look at the truck because I change a few components without even asking he climbs on my truck which has a new paint job and doesn’t even ask if I would like to cover up the front before he proceeds to work on it .I then tell him the first tech which I told didn’t have problem with it at all . I’m getting mad by what he said , we argue for a little bit and I tell him well then maybe you shouldn’t work on it he then tells me no reason to get an attitude now I’m starting to get really mad at this tech and tell him you know what, I don’t think I want you working on my truck he then says no it’s okay I’ll look at it anyway like he’s doing me a favor. I then tell him no get off my truck get your S#$t and get off my property now and when he climbs off my truck he steps right on my light bar a dislodges it never said sorry or anything . I tell him go now he starts being a smart#$% I tell him leave now get out of here . I get a text saying that the repair recommendation is complete which it’s not and they are charging me for the incomplete service . As far as I’m concerned they didn’t complete the diagnostics . I don’t recommend them and will never use them again what a joke they are !
I requested a car inspection for a car…
I requested a car inspection for a car i purchased and the guy told me that my car passed with flying colors. The very next day my car can’t start. I text the guy and he tells me that I need to put in another order so he can come out. I decided that I’d go with a different company and they provide me with a completely different assessment. Turns out my battery was no good and the brake fluid needed to be changed. Please don’t waste your time with this horrible company and their shady practices!
Terrible scheduling and follow up.
I scheduled a visit with Repairsmith for last Saturday between 10:00am and 12 noon. I got a text telling me that due to problems they were going to reschedule me to 12 noon til 2. Then another text telling me they couldn't keep that, so another reschedule for between 2 and 4. Then another text telling me they couldn't keep that one either, and I would have to reschedule for the following day. I was scheduled to work on Sunday. I had to take the day off as I won't make my wife deal with that sort of thing.
So I scheduled for Sunday morning. Then, I get ANOTHER TEXT! They couldn't keep that appointment either and we're rescheduling me again.
The tech finally arrived about 3pm. The service tech was AWESOME! Two thumbs up to him 👍👍.
Their scheduling and follow-through was terrible! I lost a days work.
I asked the service tech how many service techs are scheduled on weekends?
He said usually 5!
With 5 service techs, they couldn't keep any scheduled times on Sat and had to reschedule me on Sun? Seriously??
If it wasn't for the great service from the tech, I would have rate them 1 star.
I was told a service rep was going to call and discuss my experience with their company.
Crickets 🦗
This is some BS right here!
Get this, based on what the customer (non mechanic) asks to be replaced that’s what they do. They don’t consider other reasons why your car is overheating, the mechanics just replace the thermostat, take your money and say see ya later. So, 3 days later I see the exact same issue of the car overheating. Another tech comes out and correctly diagnosed a blown head gasket. I take my car to a full service repair shop and they also confirm a blown head gasket. So you would think that RepairSmith would credit me back the $425 for the perfectly good thermostat and charge me for the 2nd visit and diagnostic of $210. NOPE, apparently it’s my fault because I said I THOUGHT it was a thermostat issue and the mechanic is going on my assumption and not required to diagnose the car further unless I ASK for and pay a diagnostic fee. Ain’t that some BS?
I needed new tires and I was surprised…
I needed new tires and I was surprised to learn that RepairSmith not only comes to my location and does mechanical work on my vehicle, they also install tires. Marques was my tech. He showed up on time and got right to work. He did a great job and the price was reasonable. I did NOT have to drop off my truck for a day (or two) and have to wonder when I would have it back like most all other options with the big chain shops. I highly recommend these folks. This is the future of having maintenance performed on my vehicle with minimal downtime.
PLEASE READ IF CONSIDERING REPAIRSMITH
I was in need on a repair and decided to give RepairSmith a chance even after reading the up and down reviews. The idea of a mobile car technician sounded amazing so I did. I stated my problem and a technician came out to diagnose the car, the next day I agreed to have their technician come out and do the repairs. It was a different technician than the prior day and he actually diagnosed it again with a different part that needed to be replaced. I thought that was a little odd but I left it to the "professionals" and left it alone (especially since they were claiming the repair amount wouldn't change). After the repair, my vehicle sounded good but wasn't driven to confirm. As soon as I drove it 5 miles the same issues came back. I've spent over $750 at this point and nothing was accomplished, I called them back the same day to let them know that I still am having the same issues. I was told they would bring a technician back out and re-diagnose it again and it should be covered by my warranty. The technician came (another new person) and new am told another repair would fix it. They ended up charging me another $189 for him coming out when it should have been covered. RepairSmith has been a huge nightmare, huge waste of money, time, and still a messed up car. Big mistake
Never again
The technician was on time and fake friendly. He did an oil change and replaced front brake w sensor.
He did not use synthetic oil for my Lexus. The Change Oil warning came on after 3k miles. Synthetic goes 8-10k miles.
The brake pads were not ceramic, but rather metal. 9 months later, they Still squeak.
His hands were greasy and he managed to get that grease All Over my light grey interior. At one point he had to look under the steering column, and he put his greasy hand on the drivers seat and practically massaged the grease into the leather.
He touched other things on the interior for no reason.
I will never use them again and make a point to tell everyone I know to stay away from repairsmith.
It's too bad, bc they could be the next trend in auto service.
My first service call was good and…
My first service call was good and exactly what was expected. However, I had to call them out for a warranty repair and even though we told the tech what the problem was (based on a roadside assistance visit earlier in that morning), he did another full diagnosis and charged me $190 that they refuse to credit back. I did like the convenience of having a tech come to my home, but this is exactly why many mechanics get a bad wrap, they held true to form with the unnecessary tests and charges.
Questionable...........
My car had many issues i used repair smith to find out what those issues were so I scheduled a diagnostic test. They came out very professional. That was a 10. At the end it was said that I needed a second opinion because the machine wasn't reading the crank shaft correctly. I was not charged because it wasn't a complete diagnostic test. I called back to schedule for the second opinion. I was getting charged $25 for a delivery fee. For what I don't know. I called about the fee they waived the fee but than said in order for me to finish my diagnostic check I would have to pay for a second service now, before they scheduled the second diagnostic check because I wasn't charged for the first. I hung up the phone.
What they can do better is schedule for the second opinion in a timely manner. Needless to say I still don't know what is wrong with my car.
Full Pricing Transparency Needed
So here's the deal. Most people who have some type of roadside assistance like AAA can call them to have the car towed to a garage or a jump, battery replacement, etc will do that. Yes, it is convenient to have someone come to your location, diagnose the problem and possible repair it. Here is where the problem comes in. I don't appreciate not having full transparency when it comes to the pricing of the repair. For starters, you botched up the appt time, making my husband unnecessarily miss a day of work. Second you say that discounts can't be stacked, yet I have proof where the rep I chatted with acknowledged a $25 discount for the diag and 10% off repairs. Third, I don't appreciate the unprofessional and condescending attitude of the mechanic who tells me "We have to run a business here." I ask how much did you pay for a starter and you hit the roof? What you're telling me and what O' Reilly's is telling me are two different things and the fact that you can't control your emotions when I am questioning a bill that I've paid for is ridiculous!
