I was really impressed with the service end to end, will use them in future and recommend them to others.

I initially had reservations about Redbook as the list of exclusions seemed immense (especially via the NRMA site), but after having trouble with another provider I gave them a go (Standard type).

Easy to speak to on the phone and the purchase process was clear and ready. They coordinated with the seller seamlessly and provided me updates along the way. After the inspection the inspector called and talked through the summary and offered to speak again if I had questions after reading the report.

The report was through shortly after and was comprehensive in coverage and had a *lot* of photos (90) of the car, inspected areas and test results, log books etc etc. They also ran obd codes etc - and found issues I'd missed.

Very happy, very impressed. And importantly it enabled me to be clear and comfortable in deciding on the purchase.

I remember using redbook to help me when buying my car years ago, it had the best layout, inform and inspection.

Went to use it to help a friend buy a car today and saw more paywalls, that it was harder to use and worst of all that the price vs km range missing and locked behind a paywall.

Enshittification
All I could think was Enshittification

The report was very thorough, inspection booking time was fast and the person I spoke to was great.
My challenge is I was remote and could not see the car in person. I know it had hail damage and what the inspector should have done is had a video conversation and showed me the roof. That would have really helped because photos of the hail were very hard to take.

Had a vehicle inspected and process was seemless & efficient.

Very thorough and allowed me to negotiate a fairer price

I found the reviewer was professional and called me promptly, and i understand the difficultly in evaluating old landcruisers - however a couple of significant things were missed:
- firstly the rear pinion had an oil leak which was fairly apparent on inspection after the car had been driven and necessitated replacement of the rear pinion 2weeks after purchase.
- secondly none of the physical locks was able to be operated by the key barring the ignition, with the keyways unable to be turned and the Central locking failed which meant that immediately after purchase I was unable to secure the vehicle and had to drive directly to a locksmith.

Hopeless level of service. Lite doesn’t even get a verification of the owner of the vehicle so you know you’re dealing with the right person. The owner asked for the inspectors drivers licence but this was not forthcoming so no test drive was undertaken. I was not contacted to inform me there was a sticking point. Instead it just wasn’t done. Pathetic!!! The worst service I’ve ever experienced in my 60 years.

I didn't get just a digital report. George rang and explained the inspection followed with, "but read the report". Appreciated the insightful knowledge shared over that phone call.

The mechanic was very efficient and informative. We received a comprehensive report and he even called us to talk through some other diagnosis of the vehicle. This was great piece of mind as we lived a few hours away from the vehicle we were hoping to purchase. The only con was due to the location the mechanic could not test drive the vehicle over 60kms. So after purchase and the drive home we discovered some break and disc issues.

Great feedback. Really quick response. Followed up with a phone call. Very happy.

So convenient when buying from a long way away. Gives you piece of mind that it's worth making the trip and that it's been looked over by someone more knowledgeable than me about cars.
