After emailing the company as per their policy and writing this review, I was contacted by Dan who authorised a full refund. Customer service was great and prompt in this instance. Thanks Dan.
I have uprated the stars to 3 for this gesture and am satisfied with the outcome although as a side note it may be imperative that customers are told about the fee properly to avoid any confusion.
Phoned Plumbing force as needed a cast iron pipe moving/shortening and capped off as it was in the way of a cooker hood being installed, this was reiterated in the call. I was told about the £120 plus VAT charge for hourly rate but stupidly assumed this was for any work being done by the engineer if the job only took 10 minutes for example, There was nothing to say that this was the call out charge too and I got charged £144 for literally 20 seconds with the engineer saying he couldn't do the job as it was a cast iron pipe even though this had been clearly stated. I even accepted their excuses to change my appointment time from morning 9-1 to 1-5 which caused even more hassle as caring for elderly father was put behind. I phoned and disputed the payment and requested my money back. Got Credit Card legal team involved. Company is absolutely shocking and if I can get scammed I dread to think what a vunerable person would go through.

Customer service team were friendly, professional and helpful. I was given a morning slot, but unfortunately the engineer's previous work overran. However, they were able to book me in the same day in the afternoon.
Max was polite, friendly and did an excellent job replacing the silicon for 2 showers. I'm very happy with the end result.

Extremely efficient and prompt service. Engineer was delayed but we were kept informed as to the new time of arrival. Advice given and work completed to a very satisfactory level.
Off to a good start
Off to a good start, appointment booked in quickly, card details taken upfront - fine. £120 + VAT for call out/first hour and no refund if I didn't have certain type of boiler (as I was none the wiser as to what kind it was) even though the website states no call-out costs.
Then it gets sticky, I am sure on the phone I was told it was a certain price for each additional half hour after the first paid hour, which made sense to me and is how I understand most instances of labour to work (relevant later). On the day you are given a four hour time slot, as 8:13am I was told the engineer is on the way and will arrive in an hour, at 11:25am they arrived and had a look at the boiler. He explained 3 components have an issue and need replacing - also fine, he seemed very knowledgeable and did a great job, no complaints about the engineer. Parts and then with the few hours work I assume I am looking at c. £600. I don't see an itemised quotation, just a screen to sign. I am charged £644 on the 09/04 which made perfect sense to me, then the following day I am charged another £144, I am left a voicemail AFTER the second charge and told I was underbilled the day before. The first invoice breaks down Labour: 4 hrs labour £480 + VAT and Parts £177+ VAT. The second invoice does not have any descriptors and just claims £120 + VAT, but PlumbingForce said they need to issue this as I was underbilled the first time ( I don't know what more there required than the actual labour and the parts required) and need to pay the full quotation presented on the day which was £657 + VAT - which I didn't actually get to see, but is my own fault for trusting I wouldn't be taken the piss out of.
I don't know whether it's related or not, but the pipes under my kitchen sink gave way 2 days after the work was carried out, and I just stuck to a local tradesmen nearby and he was fantastic, no frills and no subsequent charges (WITHOUT WARNING ME!). I'm actually nervous that they have my card details still. Overall, more than 1 star because the engineer was good and he carried out the work with no complaints and only 2 stars because of the yucky sneaky back office. If you find someone local who is good at their job who isn't employed by a large faceless company, hold on to them tight!!

Job done with no hassle! Had caution in going with them as I had read reviews about extra charges - maybe that’s a concern for more open ended work like a repair but from my experience haunt a routine service with a fixed fee quote I have to say the job was faultless from start to finish.

No customer care
I was phoned to make an appointment to be told the radiators would not be checked and 1 hour was the given time for service after that the charge would be per half hour, I was then asked for bank details which I refused as instructed by the bank not to give out bank details to an unknown caller. Iwas told I could do a bank transfer and pay the full amount to a company I don’t know , this was an upfront payment of £144 when I had no experience of their reliability. They only seem interested in money not customer satisfaction
