We loved our tour! Army is a 10/10!
We loved our tour!! We had a group of seven and everyone had a great time. Getting picked up and dropped off at our rental house really made the experience easy and enjoyable. The way the tour schedule was set up was perfect, enough time to enjoy each stop but not so long that we felt we were “waiting around.” Army was an excellent driver and guide - helpful, knowledgeable, and so fun! He had us laughing and smiling the whole trip. The provided lunch was delicious and a perfectly timed break between tastings. I absolutely recommend using Platypus when in the Sonoma area.

Fun, expensive, vacation experience
Everyone who was encountered during the tour process was lovely and well informed on any questions my friends and I had. I was under the impression that the fee for the tour included any fee that the winerys may have needed for a tasting but that was false. The tour price itself was expensive due to the fact that we still had to pay at each winery, 3 to be exact, as well as a 20% gratuity fee. So platypus charged almost $200 per person for the ride to and from a curated group of vineyards and that wasn’t worth the money in my opinion. Still enjoyed the experience but definitely a money grab.

Hi Keonka, thank you for taking time to write. Although it's stated on our website and also reiterated in the confirmation letter, I understand that one could think that tasting fees are included. Know that tasting fees on our join-in tours are discounted for our guests to be $25pp at each of the three wineries visited, and that they are not included in the tour fee because most wineries waive them with bottles purchased and each winery is a little different. Average tasting fees in Napa and Sonoma typically start at $40pp. The current $139pp tour price indeed covers scheduling and orchestrating the day, your expert local guide, transportation as well as your picnic lunch. Gratuity is at your descrection (with 20% being customary). There is however an auto-gratuity for parties of 5 or more.
I'm so glad you enjoyed a fun experience, our guide staff work hard to keep the day fun and informative. As a team we go over this type of feedback to see if there is anything more we could have done to make sure all guests are fully aware of the tasting fees. Thank you again for sharing. Wonderful guides
Shuttle bus felt tight with a full group and A/C struggled during afternoon. But Courtney kept us laughing all day, chose 3 fantastic boutique wineries and the included lunch was fresh, so I was satisfied!

What a great experience
What a great experience! Steve, our driver and guide, set up a wonderful day. We had 15 people on our tour :) and while this may seem like a lot he did such a fabulous job of making sure every person’s needs were met. He made local recommendations for places to eat. I can’t say enough good things about this company. We will definitely be back!

Platapus wine tour with Louis
Our tour was with a knowledgeable, patient, and a humourous guide called Louis.The group was multi aged and great company. We enjoyed all three winery choices but found the Hagafen one the least informative and lacked presentation. Instead, Louis , our guide took us out to the vines and explained the pruning procedure.Despite this, we bought our dessert wines there.

Great way to tour wine country
Great communication from the driver / tour operator regarding what to expect for the day. We visited 3 wineries, all of which were expecting us and were prepared for us. These were wineries we wouldn’t have normally visited and I’m really happy we did. Very informative, really nice wines showcasing a wide variety of different grapes and blends. The included lunch was excellent and more than I could eat. Plenty of cold bottled water was provided to stay hydrated throughout all the tastings. This is a great way to tour wine country.
