As a first-time buyer
As a first-time buyer, I came across Picnic by chance and I’m so glad I did. From start to finish, they were there to help every step of the way. My mortgage advisor, Chloe B, was absolutely amazing — I had a million and one questions (sometimes daily!) and she never failed to answer or return my calls with clear, helpful advice.
Buying a home is a nerve-racking experience, but Chloe and the whole Picnic team made it so much easier. They supported me through everything, from the mortgage to solicitors and insurance. I can’t thank them enough and would highly recommend them.

be aware of the £649 cost
be aware of the £649 cost , if you go with the mortgage offer/AIP or not. (I approved the AIP but not the mortgage offer) , I made this mistake and didn't read the TnCs just clicked away as you do. My own fault really . Most other companies don't charge as the lenders pay brokers in cash/benefits on mortgage completion.also being threatened with a ccj with no waring via email as they say everything is on a portal. Just warning you all.

We’re sorry the fee and subsequent payment communications came as a surprise. Our £649 fee is discussed during the first call and clearly set out in the documents provided before an application proceeds, which customers are asked to review and agree. The fee becomes payable once we have successfully secured a formal mortgage offer from a lender, rather than when the mortgage completes.
We charge for the professional advice and support we provide, and so our recommendations remain focused on finding the right mortgage for each customer’s circumstances. While cheaper or fee-free services are available, we’re confident our service provides value and can often save customers more than the fee throughout the term of the mortgage we help them secure.
We’re glad you found a mortgage elsewhere, but we’re sorry you felt the portal communications were unclear. Our Chief Customer Officer and co-founder, Paul Coss, has already spoken with you to clarify the situation. However, if there’s anything you’d like us to take another look at, we’d be more than happy to review the timeline of your application again.

Spam and unprofessional
I am shopping around for a re-mortgage, and I stumbled upon the ad by Experian. I generally trust Experian, so I gave it a go - this was a mistake.
Despite clearly writing in the initial communication under "tell us more before we contact you" that I don't do phone calls, I have received more than a few in a day.
I wrote on the Picnic dashboard three clear messages to please respond in writing in the message field and not to call, only to be completely ignored and instead received messages written with performative kindness along the lines of, "we tried to call you, please call us back". I can see from the responses of the Picnic team to bad reviews that it is much the same attitude.
WTH, Experian?!
I should have checked the reviews before I engaged.

Worst experience ever.
3 months of back and forth, lost out on mortgage offer as forms weren’t submitted in time to mortgage company by the case manager. Communication was shocking after dealing with Matthew (broker). We had 5 different case managers over the 3 months, we constantly had to chase them up, phone calls were booked and we never got a call, messages ignored. Complained to numerous managers and again ignored and nothing resolved. Emails and numbers are on here from managers and when called answered the phone rudely .. if you don’t want your private number to be called don’t have them on public pages for people to contact for complaints.
Managed to get another broker to get us a mortage offer within 3 weeks. Less stress.
