Do not recommend for businesses

I used Oneflare for a couple of months and can confidently say that at least 70% of the leads are fake. There’s a clear pattern: leads come through in batches with no context or job description. I even purchased a few just to test it and as expected, the messages were never opened, emails ignored, and calls went unanswered. The small portion of genuine leads (maybe 30%) are usually low-budget jobs or small tasks — not quality work. It’s clear there’s little to no vetting process and I strongly suspect there’s some internal deceptive conduct happening with how leads are generated. The ACCC should really look into this. I would not recommend Oneflare to any serious professional.

Oneflare is a complete scam — steer clear.

We honestly regret ever signing up. They charge $299 a month with the promise that you'll have a better shot at landing jobs because only 3–4 businesses are matched per request. Sounds great in theory, but in reality? You don’t even get a chance. The moment you're notified, the job is already gone — every single time.

They push you to enable "automated messaging" to improve your chances, but even then, the few jobs that do come through are so minor they're not even worth the fuel. Driving over an hour just to patch up a wall? No thanks. I’m not against small jobs, but when that’s all you're being offered — and you’re not even covering your monthly fee — it’s just not sustainable.

They claim you can cancel anytime, as long as it’s 15 days before the next charge. That’s a lie. They deliberately ignore your cancellation requests until it’s too late, then hit your account with another $299. And when you try to get a refund? Forget it. They manipulet you and offer you “credit” instead — which is useless if you want nothing more to do with them.

To make it worse, we found four separate, unexplained $50 withdrawals from our business account. That’s another $200 taken without notice or consent. We had to cancel our bank card to prevent further unauthorised withdrawals.

Trying to delete your account is another nightmare. They go radio silent — no responses, no action. But they’ll keep messaging clients under your name, making you look bad when you don’t reply.

Bottom line: Oneflare is dishonest, manipulative, and just out to drain your bank account. Don’t fall for it. It’s not worth your time, money, or energy. You’ve been warned.

To clarify a few points:

Our lead distribution is designed to match customers with up to three businesses, giving each business a fair opportunity to engage. We understand it can be competitive, and we encourage using tools like automated messaging to help improve response times but we also recognize this may not suit every business model.

Regarding charges and cancellations, we’re sorry to hear there was confusion around the cancellation process. Our policy does require notice at least 15 days prior to the next billing date, and we aim to process all requests within that timeframe. If any delays or misunderstandings occurred, we’d like to look into that further.

In terms of the $50 withdrawals, these are typically associated with quote package top-ups or leads requested outside your plan settings however, they should always be clearly shown in your billing history. If they were unexpected or unexplained, we’d absolutely like the opportunity to investigate and clarify.

We’d also like to clarify that we do not message clients on behalf of businesses. A business is only visible to a customer after it has proactively chosen to respond to a lead. We take privacy and representation seriously and want to ensure your account accurately reflects your intentions.

Edit function doesn't work

I posted a review which contain the wrong word which in turn made the review out to be a negative review. I tried to go back in on many occasions on different browsers but couldn't edit my review. Now the supplier has a negative review about his service which is completely wrong.
No one has been able to fix this.

1st person to contact me was a…painter

1st person to contact me was a painter...not a plasterer. He just wanted to fill the cornice gaps as he obviously had not idea how to replace cornice. 2nd was a plasterer, turned up to have a look with me being specific about exactly what I needed doing in my 1 room. He wandered in with his little workmate (not even bothering to wipe their boots), looked around, spoke to his little workmate in their own language then wandered into other room suggesting I have things that I need fixing. I was uncomfortable at this stage and required he just quote me for what I asked for. No measurements taken and said he would sent me a quote. Never rceived one. 3rd bloke came for a visit (I sent measurements and pics to him) and quoted me the following day. Qualified, very polite and respectful, asked if I needed anything else done so I showed him the kitchen that required simple repair work on the ceiling. Quoted and accepted within a few days. Did the job in 2 days and threw in a few little patch jobs for free.

I think you provide excellent service…

I think you provide excellent service as a link between customers and tradesmen. The response is always prompt and I am always more confident dealing with the responding tradesmen coming through your site., I believe that you vet them. It is therefore likely that they are genuine and qualified. I only wish it was easier to access the means to close or cancel an advertised jobs in a timely fashion because I feel sorry for those tradesmen who end paying you for jobs that are no longer available. I would also like you to extend my thanks to Airzone for their help which they provided free of charge, simply because I had not used the aircon correctly. It was not in disrepair. Mr Adam showed me why I was mistaken. He rectified the control box and declined any remuneration for his time and the cost of responding to the ad.

Quick response plumber.

Within minutes of placing an ad on oneflare, I received an enquiry about my plumbing job. The plumber arrived as he said he would, in an hour. Less than two hours later the job was done. I had to say no to a further plumber who called.

A few days latter was offered chance to get another 3.
Very happy with my choice. NB One of the others quotes very overpriced.

Tall Hedge Trimming Job

I asked for a tall hedge trimming job and received around three replies quite quickly. The first man came with totally inadequate equipment even though I explained the height and length of the hedge. He went away then asked for more money as he would need to hire special equipment. I didn’t hire him. The next man came and didn’t have the correct equipment to do the job but came back the next day with the correct equipment and did the job for the same price as his quote.
