Mathew was very clear and concise about the electric tariff markets at the moment. I have been with Octopus at home for sometime now and have been happy. I have just signed up for them to take over my business contract in February 2027.

Who are all these businesses getting good and accurate service from Octopus? I am literally sick to death of the problems in initially the transfer and now the billing. Every couple of weeks it’s a different issue, only been with them just over 3 months and already desperate to leave. We lurch from one issue to another. Poor communication over a three times failed transfer and a faulty smart meter, estimated and hugely incorrect readings (despite me giving readings) led to a large bill. Agreed a payment plan, even though they hold a 3.3k deposit and I hoped that would be the end of it. Smart meter still appears to be not giving readings or they are not showing as I cannot see, have not been able to see any electricity usage on my dashboard which I queried and again assured all good and they would appear eventually. Well, they have not. Direct debit for payment plan advised by email that it was going to be the whole amount, queried and told not to worry, it was a mistake and would be the correct amount. I check every few days and (still no usage on the dashboard) this months bill although not sent to me was £963.69 and I awake this morning to see a DD of £1725.99 due to leave my account tomorrow - what does that even correspond to?? Now have to waste another hour of life phoning : writing emails and listening to agents telling me how fantastic Octopus normally is - except apparently when it comes to my account. The financial pressure for a small business to find the deposit was hard enough, paying a higher kw rate was hard but I did so I could get a good consistent service, and that couldn’t be further from the truth. Worse I have experienced yet. My whole day will be again consumed with stress and false assurances, not to mention the problems it causes me having an extra £800 taken from our bank account. Absolute tosh.
