Dear Cliff,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the recent service experience I had at your dealership. As a loyal Nissan customer for over a decade, having purchased two vehicles from your establishment, I am deeply concerned about how my recent service was handled.
Last week, I brought my vehicle in with a flat tire and explicitly mentioned to the service team that there was a nail in the tire, as confirmed by both AMA and Canadian Tire. I have supporting documents to verify this. Despite this, I was charged for a repair, and the nail was not shown to me. Two days later, I received a warning on my dashboard about low tire pressure. Upon returning to Nissan, I was informed that all four tires needed replacement, though this was later revised to two.
Today, during another service visit, I discovered that the nail was still present in the tire. I have evidence to support this. Additionally, I received a quote for replacing two tires at $638.35. This situation raises several concerns about the quality and integrity of the service provided.
As a loyal customer, I expected better care and transparency. This experience has left me questioning the trust I have in Nissan’s service department. I believe this is a serious safety issue and I am very troubled by the lack of resolution and attention to my concerns.
I intend to escalate this complaint and share my experience publicly if necessary. As someone who works in customer service, I am particularly disappointed by the handling of this situation and the apparent disregard for resolving the issue.
I would appreciate your immediate attention to this matter and a satisfactory resolution. Please let me know how we can rectify this situation and restore my confidence in your dealership.
Thank you for your prompt attention.
Best regards,
Purchased a vehicle from Trevors nissan…
Purchased a vehicle from Trevors nissan in Miramichi. The vehicle was sold at a lower klm on the title fraudulently, the vehicle was never inspected or even in their shop before selling it or the warranty fraudulently, not even 2 tanks of gas through it and it sits at another dealer with a 9$k quote to repair it to safe drivable and as sold condition.
Contacted Nissan Canada and they refuse to help fix the car or acknowledge the blatant risk of my life or the fraudulent activity going on at their dealership as I’m told they do not get involved with subcontractor disputes.
Customer service is bad
Customer service is bad. They do not call you back.
I have had to go back for the same problem multiple times. The last time I went back they finally fixed the problem but created another one.
I have lost my faith in that Company.
Each time I go back, the last person I dealt with is no longer there. Now they have so many new people but no one you can trust.
We purchased a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder…
We purchased a 2022 Nissan Pathfinder Premium new. The second week owning it the transmission started acting up. Followed by the infotainment system freezing and becoming inoperative, at 26000 kms our breaks were shot, they went before then but because we were on a road trip we exceeded our warranty by about a thousand kilometres. Our tires were toast in a year. Our dealer was great trying to advocate for us with Nissan but never had success. Nissan acts surprised with each issue, because they are intermittent the dealers shop can’t get it to repeat what it did. Nissan refuses to do anything when they sell a piece of junk Friday afternoon lemon. The final straw was while driving the car through itself in to park coming to an abrupt stop locking up the wheels, previous issues were it going out of gear. The drivers seat controls broke and that was the only issue Nissan would acknowledge or fix. We were told every time that this is not a known issue, yet online there are threads and forums with countless situations like ours. The countless visits to the dealership was not worth the trouble. Avoid the brand and buy something that the manufacturer stands behind. We traded it in after the last incident for a Ford and couldn’t be happier. FYI Nissan is facing a class action that identifies 10 known issues, we had 6 of the 10 yet were treated like we were crazy or at fault in some way. I would give 0 stars if that was an option.
Amazing service experience!
Bill and I had our first oil change at the Pembroke Dealership and it was a fantastic experience! In and out within an hour and a walk through email sent as well! A first for both of us! It was also a wonderful chance to speak with our amazing Sales Woman Jade, and the service Manager. We had questions for both, and all were answered, A five star visit for sure!
Warranty fixes are avoided
Warranty fixes are avoided. They will do anything to avoid fixing a warranty issue. Unlike Honda, BMW, and Toyota which I have owned and had zero problems with these types of issues. You will be told it is some other problem that is going to cost you a lot of money. A tactic used to get rid of you until the warranty runs out. It seems to be a trend with this company. My first Nissan and it will be my last.
2016 Nissan Rogue
Bought my wife a 2016 Nissan Rogue, after 5 years the car has 80,000KM, and already needs an $8,000 transmission repair. Called Nissan Canada and Niagara Falls Nissan, they told me I was out of luck. Do not buy this junk.
All TV commercials are only women in…
All TV commercials are only women in the commercials. We just wonders if men are allowed to buy Nissan. I got rid of my Nissan and bought a Toyota.
Thank you
Very bad service a few times here
Very bad service a few times here, but the latest takes the cake. Go in for a transfer case leak (drops on my driveway). After the first visit and $1500 (transfer case "re-seal"), I get a puddle on my driveway. Go back and forth, a BIGGER puddle. Last visit, "Bad news, we have to change your transfer case for $4000; it's part of the process". What the heck?!? Call Nissan Canada, "Sorry, your car is no longer under warranty".
After much arguing, director MacGregor says he'll refund me my money. A few calls and a week later, sorry can't refund after all. We'll try to change your transfer case as a "goodwill gesture". More than a week later with unanswered emails and phone messages: "still working on it". Go to another garage, they change three seals without removing the transfer case, fixed for $550, no more leaks. Other garage says one of the seals installed by Nissan was damaged during installation, hence the leak. Nissan technical service bulletin TF16-001C NTB17-003C of 16 February 2022 indicates that if a leak emanates from where the drive axle enters the transfer case (as was my case), DO NOT change the transfer case. Seems like fraud to me.
Quebec Consumer Protection Office investigation underway.
STAY AWAY IF YOUR VEHICLE IS OR ISN'T UNDER WARRANTY.
"Ish" Thank you!
We visited Nissan in Richmond Hill and had a sales rep. (Ish) explain some of the details on our new Nissan Kicks Automobile 2024). He was excellent! He was polite, respectful. very knowledgeable, patient and friendly! It was a pleasure to have him as our "teacher"of our new car. It was a perfect experience for us. Thank you Ish !!!!!!

Slider motor on the front seat failed after less than 4 years. I was quoted $2800 to fix it. Absolutely ridiculous.

My Nissan 2008 Murano has a cruise control problem that was repaired once under warranty, but has failed again, this time no warranty as per the local dealer.
I will be looking to buy a new car, but until Nissan fixes problems that are not customer faults, I will be buying elsewhere.

Extremely Disappointed with Nissan
Extremely Disappointed with Nissan. Sent two letters to Nissan President and cc James Braden, with response from Presidents office "out of warranty, no customer satisfaction financial consideration or adjustment". My response, I am having my car wrapped with - BUYERS BEWARE, RESEARCH NISSAN CVT TRANSMISSIONS. My 2019 Rogue transmission replacement cost ME $8,847 at James Bradden Nissan, Kingston, ON, October 2023. David Dean

I bought Nissan Pathfinder 2013…
I bought Nissan Pathfinder 2013 (150,000 km) FWD in November 2022 from Mazda Dealership Brampton. Unfortunately, within a year it cost me another 10,000 CAD because of A/C evaporater leak and secondly transmission failed.
I took Nissan keeping in mind a reliable vehicle but my perception was wrong. This is first and last time I am buying NISSAN. I don't trust in Nissan either its CVT or normal transmission.
No More Nissan!
I bought and Ford, GM, but Nissan is disgusting. I will never ever recommend anyone to buy Nissan.
Their vehicles don't last
I bought a 2013 Nissan Rogue with 14,00km on it and at 149,000km the Air conditioner pump and compressor went. The oil pan and transmission pan needed replacing and the transmission is slipping like crazy in first gear and needs to be rebuilt.
This is a company that builds their vehicles only to last until the warranty. I have owned fords, Rams, Kia's and GMC's in this family. and not a single one had any major issues before 300,000km.
Highly recommend staying away from this company if you value your money long term.
According to my following experience…
According to my following experience Nissan Canada is the worst car manufacturing company. This company does not stand behind their products.
I leased a 2017 Nissan Rogue in December 2016 and purchased it in December 2021 directly from Nissan Canada. Around the end of August 2022, while I was driving on an expressway in the city of Richmond Hill, I noticed that the engine RPM and vehicle speed were fluctuating which caused safety hazards. These safety hazards include being unable to maintain the proper speed to integrate seamlessly into the flow of traffic, especially on highways or freeways, putting drivers at risk of being rear-ended or otherwise causing an accident unless they pull off the road. After a brief time, the service engine light of the vehicle came on and the vehicle continued to operate unsafely. I took the vehicle which had only 71,000 KM/44,000 miles to my Nissan dealer (Alta Nissan Richmond Hill) on Tuesday, August 30th, 2022, when Alta Nissan told me that the vehicle needed continuous variable transmission (CVT) replacement. After I heard that the transmission of a very well-maintained vehicle failed at 71,000 KM/44,000 miles, I requested the dealer to wait until I contact the Nissan Customer Care center. I also performed a Google search for “Nissan CVT Problem” and learned that there are numerous complaints, lawsuits, and customer dissatisfaction. I also learned that because of the high rate of failure, Nissan extended the CVT warranty in the United States.
I contacted Nissan Customer Care on the same day (August 30th, 2022) and discussed the situation. I also informed them that since Nissan has extended the CVT transmission warranty in the United States for the 2017 Nissan Rogue from 5 years/60,000 miles to 7 years/84,000 miles due to the high rate of failures, I expected Nissan Canada to cover the CVT transmission replacement cost for my 5 years old Nissan Rogue that only had 44,000 miles/71,000 KM before the transmission failure.
After days (while the vehicle remained at Alta Nissan Richmond Hill) on September 9th, 2022, I received a call and a follow-up email stating that Nissan can only cover 45% of the CVT replacement cost if Alta Nissan replaces the transmission.
After Alta Nissan Richmond Hill replaced the CVT transmission on September 15, 2022, I contacted Nissan customer care again and requested them to consider reimbursing me for the cost of repair ($3,818.15) that I paid to Alta Nissan Richmond Hill, but they declined.
From my perspective, this decision by Nissan is a clear discrimination between Nissan’s American and Canadian customers. Technically, if the transmission of this vehicle has a high rate of failure, Nissan shall fully look after the cost of the replacement for both Americans and Canadians. In other words, I paid $3,818.15 for transmission replacement for my 2017 Nissan Rogue when the same repair for the same vehicle is completely free for Nissan’s American customers.
I wish there is a minus or ZERO for…
I wish there is a minus or ZERO for rating that I would rate Nissan Canada or Nissan Applewood dealership Richmond, BC.
Our family have been loyal to Nissan for over 30 years and purchased 10+ Nissan cars from Nissan dealership. The last one was a Pathfinder. Applewood Nissan miss diagnosed time chain issue 3 times over the 15 months period of time while still in warranty. After over $5000 every other repair, the warranty expired. They denied warranty or miss diagnose. Due to our loyalty to Nissan, the Nissan Canada and the dealership finally agreed to pay for the fraction cost of repairing the timing chain after us 2 months without the car. 2 weeks into repair, the dealership further told us the engine needs to be replaced, not just time chain issue now. The total cost for replacing the engine is $20,000, and Nissan or dealership will not provide a curtesy car during the repair. We end up paying $15,000 to replace a new engine +$2000 car rental after 3 months without a car.
Never ever Nissan.....
Poor quality and service
I have been driving Nissan Pathfinder since 2010 out of Canada but made a mistake to buy a 2022 Pathfinder again in Canada. Worst service during first year. Less than a year,
beginning of summer the AC stopped working and I am still waiting for Service center to provide parts and appointment to repair. I have to call them several times they promise to call back but nothing! I will never buy nissan and don't recommend others to do so!
Nissan is now the Japanese version of Chrysler
I bought 2 Nissan flagship vehicles in the last 5 years ONLY because they gave big discounts that made their vehicle cheaper than the competition in the same price class. That's where the positives end!
Nissan has chosen the Chrysler model of doing business - sell the vehicles cheaper then ding the customer for parts that are defective, wear out prematurely or rust away prematurely. So that's why Nissan is rapidly going down the scrap heap of brands together with Chrysler.
*They avoid honouring the warranty as much as they can, scaring you with a minimum service charge of $150 + HST if they deem the problem not to be a warranty issue or a wear and tear issue.
They use the worst tyres from Continental and other brands - that flat spot, wobble or go out of balance prematurely, requiring tyre changes.
The paint on underbody parts - such as brake rotors, cross arms, shocks, strut bars etc is so thin that everything starts rusting in 1 year after purchase of the car. So the life span of any Nissan is about 5 or 6 years before rust perforation of many body and suspension parts. NO OTHER manufacturer has this problem.
Nissan puts in absurd service issues to enable the dealers to ding you for unnecessary service. Premature oil changes at 6,000 or 8,000 km in the manuals are unnecessary and generate excess waste for the environment, Prescribed change of brake fluid every 15,000 km is unnecessary, absurd and outrageous. All other manufacturers prescribe fluid change at 100,000 km. Brake rotors rot away in the show room and wobble (need replacement) at 30,000 km or less.
I can go on and on, but long story short, the cheaper price at purchase is not worth the hassle if you typically keep your car for more than 4 years or 60,000 km.
