As an end user

As an end user, just for timesheets, it is expensive crap. Instead of using modern Web technology which makes sure that individual lines are saved and retained, one is forced to fill in things in a grid. If, upon saving, an error is encountered, only cryptic error messages appear. One needs to cancel the edit, and start over completely again.

If anyone in your company would start thinking about introducing NetSuite, start doubting their mental proficiency, because it will only lead to suffering and gnashing of teeth.

Run away

Run away! No morals or standards!

We were supposed to go live in January this year so I paid my $30,000 deposit. Get into trying to implement and turns out most of the key points that we require to function that we were told the system did it couldn't. 6 months of giving them time to get us this functionality and still no answer. We had to move on and they are refusing to refund us.

9-13-21 Just had a conference call with the CEO of this company who in a nut shell said it was our fault that the system couldn't do what we were told it could and was sold as being capable of doing. I can't stress enough do not do business with this company. It may cost 50 employees their jobs but they're better off not working for a company with no morals.

9-20-21 Got another email today from the CEO of NextServices again. So far no one from Netsuites has even responded to him to give him the recordings of our 3 presale conference calls. Welcome to my world of dealing with Netsuites and NextServices unless you've got money they want.

Update 9-22-21
Response from David:

Hi Eric and Dawn,

I had a conversation with Netsuite and they have no recording of the demonstration or any follow up conversations. This puts me in a difficult position since I am getting different versions of the story from both sides.

The fact remains that Locksmith Company has determined that you cannot use Netsuite or Next Service to run your business, so the only fair conclusion to this I can find is to refund you the license fees paid minus our costs. We will therefor cancel your contract and refund you $11,220. We will pay you in 2 installments on Oct 15th and Nov 15th.

I am sorry we could not move forward with the project and I wish you well with your business moving forward.

Thank You,
Dave

My reply is that at this amount my review stands.

His reply is sorry but it's contingent on this not being public. You're welcome to call me back David and work this out to a reasonable solution or I will continue other courses of action.

Pretty sure this review is going to cost you more in revenue then refunding my money.

PLEASE DON'T DO IT!!!

PLEASE, whatever you do as a small business owner, DO NOT sign up for Oracle Netsuite.

We went through an extensive review process, evaluating capabilities, wen through scoping calls with Oracle and an Oracle-approved 3rd party set-up consultant, over the course of several meetings lasting hours. After getting all of our questions, answered, and capabilities confirmed, we made the huge investment to sign up.

Everything we heard in the sales process was BS. Their SuiteCommerce website is about advanced as Yahoo Small Business was back in 2005. I'd be embarrassed if I was Oracle selling this as their e-commerce and web platform. Buy someone or invest some money, but come on!

After wasting 2 months of time waiting for the Oracle consultant to implement the info we were submitting, she said that wasn't her job. Not what we were told in the sales process. Then we kept asking for the App Store so we can evaluate the plug-ins. She kept saying there isn't an App Store. I finally vented to the sales people and they sent me a link to the App Store after 3+ months!

They said we had to switch credit card processors and EDI providers, which both turned into their own messes. Both were recommended by Oracle.

The set up was delayed from Jan 1, to each first of the month until we finally killed the project on in August, over 8 months from the initial launch date they gave us. We wasted so much time and money on this, and the only thing they were willing to do was a discount on our renewal and they wanted it paid up front.

My CPA of 7 years quit during the set up process due to the set up and they said they didn't want to work in NetSuite.

I think this was the biggest mistake of my professional and entrepreneurial career ever. If I can help one person from making the same mistake, I would honestly feel better about the $100,000 in fees, let alone the value of the time and frustration of every employee and partner.

Oh by the way, most employees will tell you that numerous clients walk away in the first year, or barely get set up. I did my duty, up to you on what to do.

Absolutely horrible. DO NOT USE!

Absolutely horrible. NetSuite sales people reach out heavily via cold emailing and LinkedIn contacting. I told them dozens of times to stop but they just don't. Completely not intuitive. As long as I am CEO, NetSuite will never ever be used in my company. I am also passionately answering the requests of fellow CEOs discouraging them from using NetSuite when I'm asked about our experience with ERP programs. DO NOT USE!

Disappointing experience with netsuite.

Disappointing experience with netsuite.

Becoming netsuite's customer back in 2020 was pretty exciting and promising at the same time; salespeople did well on that,
onboarding thought was with some of the issues raised. However, they have not stopped us from making the required integration.

Our story:

Task Live Integration of the custom-tailored system with NetSuite product.

Netsuite advised us to get an integration partner(kind of sub-contractor), and we have agreed on a need for one in terms of giving help to the administrative workers, train and explain the capabilities of the system.

As we proceeded, all went good, however when the quote for the integration was given we thought that is pretty much high. Since we did had our experienced IT team, we checked up the documentation and understood that we could make it our self.

We have seen that restful API been supported in DEMO mode and been pretty excited about it. After some time, we have decided to use it on our middleware controller with a queuing mechanism, and this was a protection for us because API was in beta mode.

After some time, we had found that it was a correct decision since some of the API methods which we used got changed (removed some capabilities); when we asked what is the alternative's there was none except using the Soap API(which caused us to rebuild the integration using the soap in a short time)

Someone who has done an integration knows that best practices always test your integration on the sandbox environment before deploying that on the production. I got surprised that NetSuite is charging you for a sandbox (which, typically with other company's goes for free); however, since it was not a huge amount, we said probably the cost of the instances that they try to cover or any other expenses.

The surprise came on the following year when the price of the sandbox increased by 2.5 times. Speaking with our NetSuite account manager, we have not got a reasonable explanation for this increase; instead only referred to the policy that sandbox price is determined like 10 % of the current year's invoices. Comments that we have not increased the value of the invoice 2.5 times remained unanswered.
Even though we been not happy with such a response, we sat together with the team and analyzed how long did we use the sandbox within the previous year, and it turned out that we used it for APR 2 month out of 12(the time when we crafted the integration). Taking this into consideration, i have returned to the account manager and asked the following
"Since the price grew unreasonably to us, and because of non-instant usage, could we get the sandbox, let's say, for two months when we need it?"

The answer has been that the minimum period of the sandbox is 12 months. On my comments that we don't need it for such a long period, and we will end up paying for smth that will not be used, there been no reaction. That was the time when I asked our account manager to arrange a meeting with a supervisor.

Speaking with the supervisor was "exciting," after telling her the story, i got this summary of the discussion:

1. They cannot treat different customers with any exceptions. (i guess that all customers must pay, it doesn't matter if they use it or not)
2. They have different KPI's, and changes are affecting them. (I'm not sure how that effect's us)
3. They already gave us an exception for sandbox instead of 5 years!!! (period of contract) they offer 12 months (My comment that I cannot imagine a company which will be making integration for five year - left unanswered)
4. They don't have a (QA)Quality Assurance in Oracle where I am able to write a complaint about this case (I can only say it to the supervisor)

Lastly, after a week from our meeting with the supervisor, we got an answer from her :

"I do understand the business logic for requesting a non-standard term for the Sandbox. I personally went to my upper management and Corporate to ask for an exception in your case.

Unfortunately I was not successful, the only option we can give to you is the 12 months term

I hope you will see the benefit of having the SB active and go for it."

@Oracle Why we should be paying for sandbox if we don't plan to use it for a year?
@Oracle could we have a different account manager and supervisor?

Silence

I have tried to contact Netsuite for over a week to schedule a demo as I am a prospective customer. Complete silence, but they managed to sign me up for marketing emails even though I didn't select the box to receive them when attempting to sign up for a product demo.

Edit: I emailed them again and received an automatic reply that they were closed until the end of the year. I did not receive this reply in my initial inquiry or my second follow-up request for a demo - it would have been nice to know this over a week ago as I've been expecting someone to reach out - contact form should either acknowledge or have been changed to address this ahead of time.
