In the extreme heat, we had issues with tire pressure and discovered that there was no spare tire and no repair kit.

The car was dirty and ancient, they charged €60 to fill up the tank which should only have cost €10. The rental was less expensive than other providers. However, be aware as you get what you pay for!! I would NOT recommend this company.

These people rob you. Firstly the charge you make on Ryanair is just a reservation fee, not a booking fee. So when you get there they say the cost is actually nothing to do with what you though. It s a massive cost and far larger than what you thought you were going to pay. Then they add tons of other charges, without your knowledge and then they do not return the money owed to you at the end of the rental. When I returned the car and questioned the person in the car park he actually threatened me with physical violence. Literally, these people are psychotic criminals. You can see from the other reviews that you should never, ever use Goldcar.

Like all previous reviews . They set out from start to get more money . My goldcrest hire was in tenerife . We waited in a queue no 91 on the list took over 1 hour thirty minutes to start the process. Then it was I can't take out debit insurance you need to take out the type we have min about 240 the best includes breaking down recovery 300 euro . My decent car hire then went into over drive with these add ons . As our bus had already left we had no other option . I would certainly avoid this company and will see how quickly they reimburse my fuel deposit . Oh I video the car at night lucky I had the sense to move it to a lit area. But this car had more x on it than spot that had no damage ,all being that it's minor . The car would need every panel resprayed to make it look better outside . Inside was clean and the car ran well positive part . Think the ceo needs to look into other airport satisfactory reports to see how he can improve . I used a company this year in gran canaria INAUTO ,check them out best car hire service I've ever had can provide video evidence of the car hire drama

Mijn man lag in het ziekenhuis waardoor ik de auto telefonisch moest verlengen.
Alles was in orde om achteraf doodleuk 400 euro extra van de rekening te halen.
Ontkennen het verlengen, bewijs document ziekenhuis opname moet zogezegd verzegeld worden (wat dat ook mogen betekenen) en telt plots niet. De boete per dag is zogezegd 40 euro + de dagsom, terwijl ze 400 euro van de rekening houden. Dit is 4 X zoveel.
Met andere woorden ze halen gewoon zoveel geld van de rekening waarin zij zin in hebben.
Dieven!!! Wegblijven bij deze oplichters!!

Insurance that we hadn't asked for and didn't want was added to our rental package - we were told we'd get it all back when the car was returned. Sure enough, we didn't. Avoid this bunch, your holiday doesn't need the extra stress!

Avoid at all cost. Our flight was delayed we informed them in advance that we will be late ive been assured that someone will be waiting for us . Unfortunately no one is here and we are stranded as it's to late to arrange anything or anyone as it's middle of the night.

Me ponen una multa en Mallorca por mal aparcamiento y se me lleva el coche la grua, pago la grua a la policia de Sòller, se toman mis datos para enviarme la multa,pero,,, me llega un sms de golcar, digo gol, porquie me han marcado un gol, donde me dicen que tengo tres dias para pagarla y me pone un descontador de tiempo al entrar en su enlace, PARA MARCAR PRESIÓN Y QUE PAGUES A TRAVES DE ELLOS ,por pagar a traves de su plataforma te cobran 8€, pago la multa directamente a la agencia tributaria de illes balears y entonces me llega un cargo de 50€ por haberme comunicado que me habian multado y me dicen que en el contrato esta esipulado asi, LA LETRA PEQUEÑA, QUE YA LO HACEN APOSTA PARA QUE NO LA VEAS,50 euracos que se llevan por toda la cara, han de ser abusadores para hacer esto, les reclamas y tienen la cara tan dura de sin despeinarse decirte que es lo correcto.
NO ALQUILEIS EN ESTA EMPRESA SON LO PEOR DE LO PEOR, SOLO QUIEREN EXPRIMIRTE, COBRAR SIN TRABAJAR
They are scammers
They are scammers, who will squeeze as much money out of you as possible at the start of what is meant to be a time to relax. I was forced to upgrade my car and charge an extra €150 for the next cheapest car, which didn't even have build in SatNav. They also added airport tax, and lied to me that my insurance wouldn't fully cover me, so I was scared into spending an extra hefty fee for that. In total there were 5 additional unexpected fees, which added about €400 to the cost! I had no choice and they knew it. I've just had another email saying I was ticketed and they will charge me another €40 for a ticket administration fee. Horrible scammers....avoid!! I have no idea what the fine will be, but SavNav is designed to help you avoid no car zones, which wasn't available in the car I received. They may be able to validate their actions by law with the small print, but they know that they are luring most people into a trap of seemingly bargain prices, only to add all these extra fees!! They have no trust or morality.
Avoid at all costs
Do not use Goldcars, they are set up to get as much money from you as they can, by aggressive and fear selling. You may think you can save 30 e a week hiring from them, but they will do everything to make life difficult and scam you

Dishonest, poor customer service, do not listen to the evidence I am showing them and telling them, just try to scam more money from your credit card from car damage that was already there. All videos were taken prior to taking the car as well as me showing their staff member prior to driving the car away.
Worst car rental company, I have rented many cars over Europe over the last 10 years. I have emailed all their relevant customer service emails including my broker, UK excess insurance as well as bank who gave been more helpful and supportive than Goldcar.
It never should have got to this stage, however it's important that I warn other customers after my experience of the risks they take to be left frustrated and disappointed.

.NO ALQUILAR CON GOLDCAR. No recomiendo para nada esta empresa, después de un año alquilando coches con ellos. Ayer devolví un coche con dos dias de retraso, previamente envié un mail y nadie me contestó. Mire las condiciones del contrato y la multa era de 40€ x dia + los dias de alquiler, por la zona, serian unos 70/80€ al dia….
Llego a entregar el coche, y me cobraron 140€ por dia!! 280€!! Le enseñé las clausulas del contrato y ellos decían que no les importaba eso.
Pero no queda ahí!! el coche ( como siempre) se entrego con un uso normal…pues me cargaron en mi cuenta 150€ de limpieza sin mi consentimiento!! Una vez que pasó hace un año me cobraron 36€ de limpieza, puedo entenderlo, pero 150€ por pasar un aspirador??.
Goldcar Girona Scammers
Rented a car from Goldcar at Girona airport through ''doyourspain'', everything paid + fully insured. When we arrived to pick up the car, they told us that we had to block a €1400 deposit from the main driver's credit card or I had to take their full daily insurance, I tried to explain that the car was already insured and I showed all the papers, but since I didn't make the booking through goldcar, they couldn't accept the insurance, so I want to pay the deposit, but I have a payment limit on my credit card, I offered to use my debit card instead, they refused, I offered to add my girlfriend who was also with me as the lead driver so we could block the down payment on her credit card because she has a higher limit, this was also not possible because the booking was done through the "doyourspain", in other words we were forced to take the insurance an extra €284
I looked at all the reviews and it seems they do this often, do not book with Goldcar, they are scammers who offer no solutions.

Upon arrival, Goldcar refuses to give the car because not the driver but his wife is the holder of the credit card.
The solution is simple: insurance Super Relax+Mega Relax+administration fees.
That increased the rental price by almost 500%.
Then another 160 Euro deposit for a car with a 50 liter fuel tank.
We received a falsified "vehicle condition document" by e-mail.
We did not receive that at the counter, let alone signed it.
But my signature is under it and this does match remarkably well with that on the rental agreement.
The damages indicated are not correct, a few missing.
We discovered that after we received the e-mail and were already at the hotel. To late.
Goldcar discovered it also: "Check out" and "Check in" conditions are different.
We caused no damage at all. But due to the sneaky procedure we can not proof that.
Furthermore, the car had 1 warning triangle and 1 safety vest.
This is a violation of the Spanish law.

for me and my wife's trip to Sicily I had chosen to rent a car from your company, since you are international company as well as one of the biggest in the industry.
We were trying to rent the car through booking qith reference number in booking.com 747500014 at 12:30 on 16th of November. Unfortunately we were not able to do so, because one of your employee who was trying to scam us (There were two employees: one with not much hair and one with no hair, the one with not much hair is the scammer). Therefore we had to choose different company where there weren't any of the problems described bellow.
Now I would like to describe my experience:
When we have arrived everything was going well, the guy was joking etc. Everything has changed after he started offering us the insurance, which was almost twice more expensive (around 170€) than the car rental itself and even though I already had insurance buyed separately. Firstly he was trying to persuade us with the story that if any problem will occur, I won't have to pay anything. That is true and I undrestand that, it is also regular practice in every car rental company. What I really do not understand and I do not accept is what happened afterwards.
Firstly your employee started to persuade me that my insurance will cover zero money until the “participation amount” which is 1400 € - that is simply not true, because the high “participation amount” is the reason why I had bought insurance on booking.com. The second and more bizzare part of my experience came after have refused this obvious lie.
When I was trying to pay DEPOSIT? 900 € (my limit is well over € 2000) with my credit card, he was telling me that the bank refused it because my limit on the card was too low. Then I tried the second credit card (with limit over € 4000) and again I was told by your employee that my limit was too low. I said that I would try to call the bank to find out what it wrong and strangely enough, this employee of yours tried to persuade me not to call there, because "the bank won't know what is wrong" and he was giving other similarly weird reasons.
I obviously called my bank anyway, and I've been told that on my cards there was not even an attempt to make a transaction and that my limits are just fine. Weird…After that your employee made me “the offer”. If I will pay the insurance for 170€ the DEPOSIT? will be lower and it won't be over my limit (which is a nonsense). After call to my bank and to booking.com I had to cancel my reservation, because I didn't want to get scammed. I had chosen Centauri car rental, where everything went very smoothy (unlike in your company) and there was no such problem with my card, even though there was higher DEPOSIT?.
After this experience I found out that there are other very similar reviews on Google for Goldcars on catania airport, please read it.
PS: I waited until 7th February 2024 for Goldcar to confirm with Booking that I did not rent the car and I can get my money back. (more than 3 months)
