Abzocke mit Zusatzversicherung

Bei der Abholung des Fahrzeugs teilte mir ein Mitarbeiter von Goldcar mit, dass ich € 467,04 als Kaution hinterlegen muss, welche ich zurückerstattet bekomme, wenn ich das Fahrzeug vollgetankt zurückgebe. Ich sagte Ihm daraufhin, dass ich keine Zusatzversicherung wünsche, da ich bei der Buchung des Mietwagens bereits eine abgeschlossen hatte. Die Versicherungspolice zeigte ich Ihm. Daraufhin sagte er mir auf Englisch, dass er dies wisse.
Er gab mir ein Dokument auf Spanisch (obwohl er wusste, dass ich kein Spanisch spreche) welches ich unterzeichnen musste, um den Mietwagen zu erhalten. Nach der Rückkehr aus dem Urlaub stellte ich fest, dass doch eine Zusatzversicherung (Cobertura Super Relax) für € 186,88 für 11 Tage abgeschlossen wurde. Obwohl ich dies bei Goldcar mehrmals moniert habe teilte man mir nur mit, dass ich dafür unterzeichnet habe. Ich hätte ja die zusätzliche Kaution wählen können. Für mich steht fest: NIE WIEDER GOLDCAR

No help from Goldcar

Rented a car via Goldcar. The car was a little old and with many scratches- but worts was the batteri. Resulted I. Problems starting g the car. We called Goldcar customer service and the called for a road assistance. The guy measured the battery, gave electricity and told us to drive 35 km for replacement of the battery at Bosch. When arriving at Bosch, they could not help us! Luckily we did not swift of the engi engine- and drove back again while trying g to contact Goldcar so-called customer service. Talked with several different departments - ending up with “we cannot help you” try to call Goldcar. Seems customer service printed t Goldcars rental paper is a sub company not ble to take any desissions. Hereafter sevell calls to Milan airport - they suggested another rod assistance to come. Tried to explain we have rented a car and need a car. Just to pick up the car do not som e my problem. I am a customer! So far no road ssistance have called. No car to use for my meeting tomorrow and no help from Goldcar. Thank you for NOT trying to help!

Do not use Gold car Faro - Terrible company

DO NOT USE GOLDCAR FARO OR ANYWHERE. Terrible company. Total scammers and you need to take detailed photos of every part of the car. There were so many scratches on it and they claimed there was one on a small part of the wing mirror. They charged €195 and we had to pay as couldn’t produce a photo of that part of the wing mirror. It was clearly an old scratch. Do not use this company under any circumstances.

Overpaid, 4 hours wait, third party booking, Mallorca

Booked through booking.com. Booking for 3pm, I was there at 1pm. Booking could not be modified on booking.com. I had to wait until 3 to get served, because I booked through third party. Had I booked through them directly they would have assisted they said. I then waited 2 hr to draw a ticket to wait another hour and a half to get served. I paid my booking but at the counter I was asked to pay an additional twice the amount of which I will get a pittance back, called deposit, to me that is theft. While in the queue I was forewarned by other upset customers. Never never again.

NEVER

NEVER, NEVER use this company to hire a car!!! We hired the car at Bilbao airport, one and half hours from where we were staying, it broke down twice, the first time we were unable to get first gear, it took 3 hours for the breakdown recovery to arrive! The second time was on the motorway where the gearbox on the vehicle had completely failed and the car just stopped, we had to call emergency services to get us to a safe place and then the car hire company to pick us up. We waited two hours for the taxi to arrive and take us back to Bilbao, one and half hours away to pick up another vehicle, there was no sorry for your inconvenience, just a nonchalant shrug of the shoulders and if to say, things happen! Two days of our 7 day holiday were ruined and to say the least it was very stressful, especially as we don’t speak Spanish or French! Had we not taken fully comprehensive insurance out when we arrived at the car hire office (extra on top of paying in full from the UK before we arrived) plus tourist tax for driving in France) we would have been stranded on a dangerous motorway! We have hired cars all over Europe whilst on holiday for many years and have never had any problems at all. I hope this review helps when you are considering hiring a car in Europe.

NEVER use this company

NEVER use this company! They are completely fraudulent.
I pre-paid for a rental via Expedia. When I showed up to take my car, with my valid Canadian drivers license, the woman at the counter refused to accept it as I only had two weeks left until it was expired (my rental was only for a few days).
She said it wasn’t long enough. They refused to give me a refund and scammed me completely. Expedia should also be held accountable for working with fraudulent companies.

SCAMMERS

Scammers! Cheaters, and never again. Booked a car through a broker for 21 euros a day which they didn't accept and I had to pay another 50 euros a day to be able to have the car.. all the people at the counter were experiencing the same scam... Cheap scammer company and I talk to a lawyer and actually they can't do much either

I would recommend you avoid this car…

I would recommend you avoid this car rental company. we rented the from the airpot in Catania. After driving for a day or so it was aparent there was a problem wit a tyre. We discovered two of the tyres were unfit for driving ( the garage we took the car to to have it checked out were amazed they had rented it out in this condition as the insides were shredded and said we must not continue driving as we were lucky we had not had a blow out. ). we paid for two new tyres after speaking to gold car but now they refuse to refund us the money.

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE

Please please please DO NOT hire a car from Gold Car!!! If you’ve already booked a car hire from Gold Car, DO NOT pay any extra at the counter when you collect it - the staff here are involved in scamming tourists. Please read this review and learn from my mistake:

I pre-booked and pre-paid for a car rental and insurance from Gold Car Mallorca for 13 Sept 2024 to 19 Sept 2024. I booked and paid for this via Ryan Air when I bought the flights.

Upon arrival at the Gold Car desk in Mallorca, I presented the printed paperwork and were told that we hadn’t paid for the car rental yet and needed to pay it there.

1. Upon arrival at the Gold Car desk in Mallorca, I presented the printed paperwork.
2. Lisset (the woman serving us - a scammer) asked for a credit card for the deposit, passport, and drivers licence. All of which were handed over.
3. She input the details on the computer and found my booking. She then asked me to sign for the car on a digital screen. There was no contract presented and no verbal explanation of a contract being signed for.
4. Once I signed my name on the screen, she then proceeded to tell me I had an additional €385 to pay. I questioned what this was as I thought I’d already paid for the car with Ryan Air (I couldn’t remember as it was booked so long ago). She told me it was €135 for the fuel deposit (to be refunded once the car was returned) and €236 for the car rental and tax. She explained all of this writing numbers down on a piece of paper (still no contract was presented or explained at this point). She said the amount we paid to Ryan Air was simply a broker fee and had not been received by Gold Car, she said the system was telling her we hadn’t paid and that we had to pay this or we couldn’t rent the car.
5. I proceeded to pay for what we thought were the car rental fee, taxes and the fuel deposit. As we were not going to be given the car until these had been paid.
6. It was at this point paperwork was handed over. The signature I’d given initially was superimposed onto this contract document despite the fact that I had never seen this document. The woman told me to take this document to the car collection and sent me on my way.
7. After walking away I checked my Ryan Air booking and found that I had in fact definitely already paid for the car rental in full. With this information I returned to the front desk to question the money I had just paid again, as I had now paid for the car rental twice. Lisset immediately got aggressive, loud and defensive, saying everything paid to Ryanair wasn’t to Gold Car and that I hadn’t paid anything for the car rental previously, saying all we’d paid to Ryanair was a broker fee to reserve the car and that I should complain to Ryanair if there’s a problem.

It wasn’t until we got home from the holiday and started writing to Ryan Air to get our money back, that we google translated the ‘signed’ paperwork. It showed that we were paying €0 for the car rental, indicating this was already paid for. The actual payments were €149.82 for ‘Super Relax Insurance’, €23.14 for ‘Mega Relax Cover’ and €22.48 ‘Premium Official Office Tax’ (nothing premium about this office might I add - it’s a desk at the airport, from which they’re scamming people).

Lisset completely falsified the story that Gold Car hadn’t received payment for the car rental which is clearly untrue. Lisset illegally mis-sold me insurance, stating that the payment was for the car hire. It seems those at the desk receive commission on insurance sales and are scamming customers to get this by any means necessary.

Luckily Ryan Air were brilliant and helped us get the full amount refunded. Gold Car have been awful and haven’t replied to a single email because they know what their staff are doing (FRAUD) and they’re happy for it to continue as they make so much money from insurance extras.

A word of warning: THE GOLD CAR STAFF MEMBER WAS CALLED EITHER LISSET OR JISSET, IF SHE’S SERVING YOU - ASK TO BE SERVED BY SOMEONE ELSE AND DO NOT PAY THEM A PENNY.

Car booked and fully paid for 2 weeks - The air company had to delay the flight until tomorrow because of strikes, so we asked to pick up the car 24h later, without any other change, not even asking any refund for the lost day.

After numerous calls, chats, e-mails with the French & spanish customer services & local branch, all they do is giving standard answers mentioning the contract terms.

Even though at a certain point they write that they are willing to make an exception, they confirm a new date,… the same day! And when we point out that they made a mistake, they start again to answer with the same nonsense standard answers and send back to the local branch, which doesn’t care more and transfers to a line that hangs up…

No flexibility, no solution, the only way not to get stuck at the airport tomorrow was to rent another car somewhere else, thus pay 2 rentals! UNBELIEVABLE!!!

DONT EVER book at Goldcar.
After returning home I didn't get my deposit.
I asked for my deposit - and suddently I was charged 304 EUR for "relax ekstra coverage" - even though I was already fully covered in advance.
I didn't ask for any "relax ekstra coverage" - nor was I informed at the desk.
So they've actually stolen my money!
DONT EVER USE Goldcar unless you'll like to be cheated...

A bunch of thieves

A bunch of thieves! I waited over an hour to collect the car at Marseille airport. On return, at the agreed time, there was no-one available to check the car's condition, which was perfect and with a full tank of petrol. All the other rental offices have someone outside specifically for the check in. I couldn't wait another hour because I would've missed the flight. Now I've received a bill for 120 euro plus 55euro admin fee in respect of alleged damage to a wheel rim. In the photo they sent, there is a squiggly line that looks as if someone has scribbled on the picture. I've been renting cars at Marseille for years and have never had a problem. This is an absolute scam. AVOID this company like the plague

Pour les futurs loueurs, faites le tour minutieusement du véhicule avec une lampe !!!

J'ai loué une Fiat 500 à l'aéroport de valencia pour une durée de 5 jours puis retour à l'aéroport de Alicante.

Déjà, voiture dégradée des le départ avec pare choc avant tout erraflé, voiture sale.
J'inspecte le véhicule et constate les dommages sur celui-ci qui sont bien inscrit sur le document.

Lors du retour, un employé passe carrément avec une lampe et Chek le véhicule et retrouvé soit disant des éraflures sur la coque noir du rétroviseur droit.
Éraflures que je n'avais pas vu et non inscrite sur le document vu que j'ai fait le tour visuellement mais sans lampe.....

Donc goldcar va me facturer 82 euros (50 de dossier et 32 pour la coque) pour 2 éraflures que je n'ai jamais faite.

Une fois les éraflures vu par l'employé avec sa tablette et sa lampe j'ai refusé de signer sur celle-ci.
J'ai pris le temps même de frotter avec mes doigts et de l'eau les éraflures (traces blanches) sur la coque et celles-ci ont disparu.

Je me retrouve maintenant avec une note de 82 euros pour une coque non dégradée et comme neuve !!!

J'ai pris soin de refaire des photos de la coque une fois nettoyée et de leur envoyer pour contester.

Dans l'attente de leur retour.....

Une véritable escroquerie donc À FUIRE

Lies to sell insurance, unexpected costs and asking me to sign the contract without reading

Awful customer service. They told me lies about how much exchange rate I would pay on my deposit to try to sell me their additional covers. They also told me the nearest petrol station was 5km away to sell their petrol refill service (it is 1.3km). When I declined, they became very rude.

They asked me to sign a contract. When I asked to read it first, they told me they could only print it once signed and if I wasn't happy with that, I could cancel my reservation.

Avoid this Company!

Please read the Goldcar small print in the terms and conditions they send regarding credit cards.When arriving at the desk in Malaga I was told that my booking had been cancelled! Then carried on with the booking and refused to take my credit card for the excess deposit because it was not embossed unless I took the full insurance package. Ended up paying more than double the original booking. The 1 star is for the car. Avoid this company had a similar experience in Marseille.

Dem drog 2000kr från mitt kort och påstog att ja hade en skada på bilen, ja har bild bevis att bilen var i top skick när jag lämnade tillbaka den, deras anställd tillomed gav tummen upp när jag lämnade tillbaka bilen och frågade är allt ok.
Sämsta goldcar ever!! Dem tog mina pengar och påstår att dem mailat mig bild på skadan, när jag frågar vilket mail har ni så svarar dem inte på det! Bedrägeri företag

Utterly woeful service at Marseille. Desks for 8 staff, only one occupied, queued for 105 minutes in 35-degree heat. No explanation and certainly no apology so they clearly consider this normal. Treat customers like this Goldcar and guess what? You won't have any.
