Updates and clears store space all time very annoying TV

First lg TV I've have ever bought got it in April it's was a 50 inch smart 40 k numb out73006la and it's not stopped updating cuts out in the middle of a programme to clear storage space too! Honestly would not buy another lg TV in my life I've had Samsung and bush & never experience that problem with either one TVs this will definitely be my first TV and last

Unlucky Goldstar

Cost £1000, really good TV for 3 years. Then dark patches started to appear on screen, people’s faces have green tint.

Never mind I thought, at least it came with a 6 year warranty, so requested a repair, supplied pictures as requested.
Then came the unexpected reply, “that’s a normal deterioration of the OLED screen, which is specifically excluded from the warranty”.

Oh well I thought, if the warranty company wouldn’t cover it I’ll go directly to LG, because failure after 3 years is unreasonable.

LG’s response?
“That’s normal for a OLED screen to fail after 3 years, not covered by warranty” !

They have offered me 10% off a new TV from their range…… No thanks I wouldn’t throw my money away on another LG product.

LG oled tv is the worst tv I have ever…

LG oled tv is the worst tv I have ever owned in 50+ years. Using subtitles burns the screen Using their Webos browser also burns the screen. Now they want upto £800 for a new screen. I thought I was buying the best when I purchased an LG OLED TV but I never thought it would be this bad. People laugh when they see the problems with the picture. Their reputation is in ruins. I've contacted their appointed service centre and they want £99 to look at it and up to 60% of the purchase price. To replace the screen. If you don't believe me come and have a look for yourself.

LG B4 55 inch OLED 4K HDR Smart TV

Having had an LG TV previously I thought this would be a good Buy, especially as was on offer! Set up was reasonably easy and the picture is fine.
Issues are the TV guide half the time doesn't load so have to go to an old TV to see whats on, Programme suddenly stops when watching through the aerial to free up space on an app and sometimes the screen just goes black although the home page shows a picture, have to unplug from the mains for a while to restore picture. Paid quite a lot for this TV and wish I hadn't bought this model

Don't buy a LG TV

Like most other things with LG TV it's 6 months old what a load of s--t slow guide it take ages before it comes on its slow had to get rid of all my apps to get it running ITS PURE GARBAGE DONT BUY ANY LG TV YOU HAVE BEING WARNED

Jag ringde LG tv supporten för att få teknisk support, men dom ville absolut inte svara på några supportfrågor, om man inte hade garanti!! Vad är en teknisk support till för?
Jag trodde att en support var till för att hjälpa.
Så, är man teknisk support ska man inte skriva på nätet att man är det.

2 anni e qualche mese, giusto il tempo di uscire dalla garanzia. tv ko, non conviene la riparazione e a detta del laboratorio di assistenza, il problema è comune a molti pannelli lg. marchio che mi ha sempre dato garanzie e che aveva la mia fiducia. dopo samsung, altrettanto inaffidabile, stop acquisti lg. un 55 pollici praticamente nuovo da buttare.

New LG TV Reset Error

New LG TV, "This App will restart to free up memory" error, contacted LG UK who informed me that there is no such error and they are not aware that such an error exists. The TV has this error and keeps closing the TV and restarting. LG have been informed of this error by numerous people from around the world so LG are well aware of the problem but will not come up with an update for their TVs, there are a lot of suggested solutions by good hearted LG customers, which I have tried, but they have not resolved my issue. I have no Apps running, I have reset my TV to factory settings, nothing resolves the problem. The TV keeps resetting up to 38 times and I end up having to turn the TV off. Absolutely regret buying an LG TV, will NEVER buy one again. Avoid buying LG TVs like the plague, absolutely awful product and useless customer support.

Whenever I try to see what's coming up…

Whenever I try to see what's coming up later in the day on our 4 year old LG NANO 55 inch, all I get is No Information, especially on the LG channels. For the local channels, I have to click on each one until it loads then I can see, sometimes, what is coming up later. I am NOT going to open each and every channel hoping it will load the info I am looking for, like scheduled shows coming up on the same day. I must say, it has been an exercise in futility trying to get a glimpse of shows coming up on any given day. Frankly, if I can help one potential customer by letting them know what's in store for them then this review will be a success. When the time comes to replace this LG TV we will certainly NOT be buying another LG, there must be better brands out there that do not frustrate their customers like LG does. Buyer beware of LG.

I do wish that I had read these reviews before buying this TV (50UR78006LK).

My gripes are the same as most others reported on here.

Sometimes the program guide works well other times it takes an absolute age to load or locks up completely.

The freeing up memory message comes up even though only used on terrestrial tv says closing down to free memory then closes down ad infinitum. Only way to stop it is turn off at mains and back on.

Really poor from LG. Will never buy again.

What is more annoying is that it seems that these issues could be fixed with a software update but LG do not appear tb be bothered.

I bought an LG Oled 55A26LA TV based on…

I bought an LG Oled 55A26LA TV based on what we thought was a good reputation for electronic goods BUT it is definitely the worst TV we have ever owned. Its navigation menu is difficult, very slow, full of apps (we haven’t put any on it’s just what it came with).
The TV guide does not load 75% of the time, the screen regularly goes black then comes up with something to the effect of “freeing up memory”.
We paid good money for this TV about 18 months ago but it is so bad we are considering replacing it with a different make of TV.
Don’t make our mistake - steer clear of LG Televisions, they are a complete waste of money.
PS. We also bought an LG Thin Q GSLA80PZLF refrigerator and that is also a very expensive, poorly designed item too, spills the ice everywhere and often sounds like there are mice moving around inside it.

This new tv has put me of LG... not the quality I expected 😕 annoying storage messaging pops up, I've never had this on a TV before. It was easy to set-up. TV looks good with white frame but came with very flimsy stands, I've had it wall mounted, even though this TV was cheaper than my previous one, I don't believe its worth the argos asking price. I think the reviews are fake, best to pay more for a decent TV. The remote I'm not keen on either, I was watching a program a slight touch of the middle ball button and lost what I was watching 😳 picture quality okay but not as good as Panasonic, which LG is supposed to be similar in their TVs, through research. One of the reasons I purchased the LG along with argos glowing reviews. I wouldn't recommend.

Schermo rotto

Due anni e due mesi fa mi hanno regalato una tivù LG Oled 55. Da un giorno sono comparse improvvisamente righe nere orizzontali sullo schermo. Ho contattato l’assistenza e mi hanno detto che la tivù non è più in garanzia e devo sentire un centro assistenza per le eventuali riparazioni. Trovo assurdo che una tivù che costa circa 1000 euro si rompa all’improvviso dopo fatalità poco più di due anni! Preciso che la tivù non ha mai subito danni o colpi ma è in perfette condizioni!

Katastrophaler Kundendienst! TV Gerät 4 Monate nach Garantie unbrauchbar!!!

Ich habe im Januar 2023 einen LG-Fernseher (Modell: 55NANO796PC) bei Saturn gekauft.

Im Mai 2025 – also nur rund 4 Monate nach Ablauf der gesetzlichen Gewährleistung – fiel das Bild plötzlich aus. Der Ton lief noch, beim Einschalten waren kurz Streifen zu sehen. Ein klarer, dokumentierter Defekt.

Ich habe den Fall sowohl bei Saturn als auch bei LG vollständig gemeldet – mit allen relevanten Daten, Gerätedaten, Rechnungen, Fehlerbeschreibung und Kulanzbitte.

Was dann folgte, war enttäuschend:

🔹 Saturn reagierte mehrfach mit dem exakt gleichen Textbaustein, verwies auf den Hersteller – obwohl es um ein bei Saturn gekauftes Gerät geht. Selbst nach meiner öffentlichen Bewertung und erneuter Kontaktaufnahme: wieder nur ein Standardtext. Keine echte Auseinandersetzung. Keine Unterstützung.

🔹 LG wiederum lehnte jede Kulanz ab – obwohl der Fehler zeitnah nach Ablauf der Garantie auftrat und offensichtlich kein Einzelfall ist. Auch hier: Standardtexte, keinerlei Bereitschaft, Verantwortung zu übernehmen.

Beide Unternehmen schieben sich die Verantwortung zu, während ich als Kunde mit einem defekten Fernseher dastehe. So geht man nicht mit Kunden um, die sich sachlich, frühzeitig und mit vollständiger Dokumentation melden.

Fazit:
❌ LG – enttäuschende Qualität und kein Service nach der Garantie
❌ Saturn – keinerlei Hilfe nach dem Kauf, nur Weiterleitung an den Hersteller

➤ Ich habe den Fall nun an die Verbraucherzentrale NRW weitergeleitet und werde den gesamten Verlauf weiter öffentlich dokumentieren.

I really dislike my entire experience…

I really dislike my entire experience since buying my LG TV. It always annoys me with questions about "do i want to clean the pixels"... "you have to tick the box to allow the new user agreement"... "the software will be updated... you have to restart your TV" etc etc etc.

When i turn on the TV i can't go quickly to my amazon fire stick because LG are always loading preview clips of some promotional video that i never asked for. only when the promotional trailer video is playing can i select my amazon fire stick. 50% of the time my utube goes dark and i have to go back to the home screen to choose my fire stick again... but of course i have to wait for some action film trailer to load up first.

I'm thinking about just throwing it away and starting again with a new TV.

I will never buy another LG product as long as i live. Worst and most annoying TV i've ever owned.
