If in Louisiana Leafwell is an unnecessary fee.

12/22/25 A week after this report Leafwell refunded the full amount. Giving 2 stars as Customer Service + Travel Knowledge Help + Discount Dispensaries are lacking for the price.

TL;DR: If we hadn't had the charge sprung on us none of this would've happened. We would have continued contact with yall to find out yall couldn't properly assist. We would've been evaluated for free by goodcannanow than used the 79$ to pay for the application + fee for the visiting state + have money left over for medications. We wouldn't have been swindled out of 79$ without proper assistance and left in a frustrating situation.

The main point here is that we were surprised charged. If that hadn't happened than we would've had more time to further research and discuss with the CSR. We would've found out yall could not in fact certify for the state we are planning to visit. We would've never gone through yall.

However, since the charge immediately went through, we were pressured to make a decision + yall charge for cancels. The process is still confusing. The wording in the terms and on yalls fact pages. We were given the impression that if we couldn't be properly helped + the certification was not used, we would receive a refund. On top of that come to find out we qualified for a FREE evaluation for certification.

To make matters worse the physician made it seem as if this was an easy fix through the dispensary visiting state but it's in fact not. The visiting state requires an extra application + fee so seeing how we are already paying a lot out of pocket for healthcare and yall cannot assist due to restrictions it makes more sense to not go through yall.

Really hope yall decide to be fair and refund in this case. If yall truly care about helping people on a budget getting back on their feet with proper healthcare yall would. So glad we didn't go with yalls membership as that's even more money that we would be out of as the 1/2 off certification would've gone to waste (yall reconfirmed yall don't cover the visiting state) and the dispensaries by us don't participate in yalls discount program. Which by the way yall have unfairly pay walled so we couldn't even access that information until after payment. It's already bad enough we have been scammed out of 79$ that would've gone straight to care cost + medications.

Original Review:

On Dec.17th 2025 we were looking online comparing prices for our medical marijuana program certification. We stumbled upon LeafWell and thought it seemed like a great flexible option to consider as they covered many areas and we travel.

Once we registered, we realized we couldn't get a total or appointment dates unless we put in our credit card information. We did reach out to the bot for assistance before submitting our information and it confirmed the amount and that we could put in any discount codes during checkout than make an appointment than after checkout confirm the appointment. However, once our credit card info was placed and we hit next, we were charged. There was no confirmation, no place to put the discount code nothing but giving them payment than making an appointment!

We reached out the chat bot about this and they stated an agent would contact for assistance. A few hours later an agent contacted about posting the discount and we could see a 0.00 transaction pending in our account as well as the initial 79.99 pending. We scheduled our appointment thinking we would be able to get the help necessary or get refunded if it didn't go well as per the LeafWell refund policy.

The appointment started off smooth getting approved wasn't difficult as had supporting documentation of qualifying diagnosis. Once we reached towards the Q&A portion everything changed. Found out that the physician, while kind, was not licensed in both states needed to get approval for. He suggested contacting the visiting dispensary as well as contacting LeafWell about this.

So, after the appointment contacted the visiting state dispensary and the state health dept website. They both came back that we needed a different approval for visiting states. Also found out that goodcannanow provides FREE Louisiana Certification. So contacted LeafWell chat agent immediately to request assistance in getting the out of state temp card yet they cannot assist even though the visiting state does have a medical marijuana card program. According to them we also do not qualify for a refund even though services were incomplete and we haven't even used the certification yet!

We wrote in formally to support at LeafWell and are waiting for a reply about our refund. We have contacted our financial institution about the unauthorized charge + incomplete services and were informed we must wait for the transaction to not be pending to dispute.

As the additional state you were seeking a certification for does not allow telemedicine, our provider was unable to provide information about that state's program or issue a certification that could be used there. Additionally, our terms and conditions, shown before payment details are entered, explain that patients are charged and only refunded if they are not approved. I sincerely apologize for any confusion or inconvenience caused. I will let our escalations team know and ask that they contact you as soon as possible to see if there is any help they can provide.

Let leafwell work for you

Leafwell makes getting your cannabis card so easy. They do all the work. A few short questions and you're done. The doctors are polite and non judgemental.

Leafwell hands out renewal cards for Pennsylvania

Leafwell hands out renewal cards for the state of PA. However if you join their membership program for their discounts “up to 30%” for flower. Pennsylvania is not included. Tried to get a refund after paying for the full year.Customer service denied me. Would not even work with me.
WILL NOT USE THEM AGAIN. WILL NOT REFER. THEM TO MY FRIENDS.

As outlined in the membership terms and conditions, when a certification discount is used, the discounted amount must be repaid before the membership can be canceled. Once that amount is settled, we are able to cancel your subscription and refund any membership fees that have been charged.

I had appointment online scheduled with…

I had appointment online scheduled with provider to renew my prescription. I stood waiting for hours to never get seen. I rescheduled appt for next day. Same thing happened again. I started a chat with support team for them to say provider isnt available until following week. Then why make appointment slots available for.a provider who isnt available?!! I asked to speak to a manager and ofcourse they didnt.
