I found King's View Chambers on Google. From start to finish Stephen McCaffrey and his team have gone above and beyond on fighting to get my Private Hire Licence back. I'm happy to say I have got my licence back and i didn't even need to go court. The fees and everything else was explained to me and I must say the price I paid was well worth it. Thank you again and I would highly recommend them.

I was referred by coroner to GMC with regards to misconduct, etc early 2021. I found Kings view chambers via Google and contacted them via email just a week before my response submission to rule 7 disclosure. I had prompt response within 24hrs and offered valuable and timely advice over video conference about 60mins by both Catherine and Stephen. I decided without any hesitation after the video conference meeting that my case to be represented by Catherine and Stephen. I opted out from the legal support/team offered by my employer/insurer.

In 2019, i was referred to the NMC fitness to practice I was quite in shock at the time given my years of unblemished practice. I initially contacted my Trade Union for representation but i felt it was wise to seek a second opinion for advice.
I went online and checked rigorously and found Kingsview Chambers.
I made contact and straightaway i received a call back from Stephen McCaffrey. I explained the situation and he had a clear understanding of the case. I did not doubt his expertise and professionalism.Although he mentioned to have dealt with numerous cases similar to mine during our discussion. Subsequently,Catherine Stock came on board and we took it from there. She explained step by step the strategy to adopt regarding the case. In early 2021 I found myself on the receiving end of what I regarded as a malicious complaint by the relative of a patient of mine. My impression was that rather than deal with the matter in a common-sensical fashion, my employer decided to throw me under a bus and launch what I regarded as a completely unnecessary investigation culminating - almost a year later - in a disciplinary hearing.

I contacted Kings View Chambers on the advice of a friend who had been massively helped by them a few years ago when he himself was facing a malicious GMC referral.

Between Kings View Chambers and my trade union rep (who was also excellent - although my sense is that I got unusually lucky here), I managed to steer a difficult middle course between, on the one hand, as advised by my indemnity provider, just admitting everything I was accused of - which included several allegations that were flatly false - and, on the other hand, coming across to my employer as “unreflective”.

The advice of Kings View Chambers allowed me to feel confident in the stance that I took, which enabled me to keep my job and avoid a GMC referral.

I can’t thank Kings View Chambers enough, and would not hesitate in recommending them to anyone who finds themselves in the same sort of situation as I did.

My GMC tribunal collapsed at Stage 1, thanks to Kings View. If you are reading this, the chances are that you are going through something similar to what I did.

Nothing really prepares you for the stress of going through a GMC investigation, especially a tribunal. The only experience I had had with the GMC was occasional lectures at medical school when the GMC came down to frighten us by showing how doing seemingly reasonable sounding things were going to get us all struck off.

When my referral came through, the information given to the GMC was such mess that neither my indemnity provider nor I could understand what I was being accused of. The advice I had from my indemnity provider was to just sit tight and wait for formal allegations to come through. That took 6 months in the end. I was not going to wait that long without sleep.

Not knowing why I was being investigated was the most difficult thing. It affects you because you think it could be almost anything. There was not a clinical incident. After speaking to colleagues, they suggested I get external legal advice.

I googled and emailed a few barristers for direct access.

To give you an idea of how responsive Kings View were, I emailed Stephen McCaffrey one afternoon. Within three hours, he was on the phone to me and explained exactly what was going on and it took a lot of pressure off because I finally understood what I was facing. From then on, he was my guy.

When NHSE came calling, I instructed Stephen to come with me to my interview and instead of lasting the full 4 hours, we were done in just over 70 minutes. NHSE dropped the whole thing shortly after.

My case went to an MPTS tribunal. Both Catherine and Stephen were supportive the whole way. Both of them look at your case so you have the opinion of two barristers.

Stephen got most of the allegations thrown out at half time, including the most serious charge which would have resulted in suspension or erasure. The final decision was that nothing was proved and the case collapsed in the first stage. That is the best outcome possible and my GMC registration is untarnished.

I am very glad that I did not go with my indemnity provider.

As a doctor, you might see a patient who has seen so many different doctors with different opinions, it’s all a bit of a mess by the time they come to you. It makes sense to get proper advice from the start.

There was an extra cost, but my career is worth a lot more than I paid, many times over.

I would whole heartedly recommend Kings View to anyone.

I have come across many lawyers in the past but I have not seen anyone as great as Catherine Stock. She was like an angel sent to me from heaven to get me out of my trouble. In 2005 I was struck off the nurses register and with the challenges about my case it’s was beyond what I think anyone can help me with. I was so devastated that my life was ruined and that I will never practice again but Catherine held my hand like a little girl that went to cross the river to the other side. When I called her for the first time she didn’t promise anything she was just so thorough with me. She refused to talk about money, charges for stationery or phone calls until towards my hearing. She is always punctual with her appointments and commits to the schedule. I know God will reward her for the good work she’s doing. I've contacted Mrs Catherine Stock to represent me in my MPTC hearing.
After a phone call in which I explained my situation and handed her my hearing records, she sent me an email stating she is a specialist in the field and that she works on cases similar to mine in daily basis.
In the same email she included the fixed fees required to represent me.
Assuming her email are legitimate I've paid the initial meeting fees to discuss the next step.
Meanwhile she even advised me to inform GMC she would represent me.
We had the phone conversation on 17/11/2021 when surprisingly nothing we discussed corresponds to what she promised in the initial email, based on what I've trust her to make a first payment of over a £1000.
She told me that she apologies but she didn't realise my case its a review of conditions rather than an IOT , which is surprising given that I submitted my documentation to her before payment and we had a prior talk in which I clearly stated.
More she said if I still want her to represent me, the costs will be bigger but anyway she can't really help me at all, and doesn't matter if I am going by myself or she will be there the outcome will be probably the same.
In this case I requested a refund of my payment as I paid based on her initial email in which she confidently said, cases like mine are on her daily basis.
Definitely she doesn't want to refund the money, as obviously that been her way to make a full of me and charge me for nothing but by misled.
Now because of her I am in a position where I will not be able to find a legal representative because of my limited budget and because of a very short time until my hearing.
Then be very aware of this person and her firm
I am really having doubts the reviews on here are genuine I been so silly even to believe that.
