Absolutely impressed from the work Mr Stephen McCaffrey did for me.
GMC by mistake put me in Tribunal but he removed it from there even before tribunal. He is the person who is doing the real job. Im so lucky and happy that I met him and his team. I have been through one of the most harrowing experiences in my professional career, accused of an act I did not, and could not, commit.

I thought I was safe in the hands of my professional indemnity, and I couldn't have been more wrong. Not only did they not work with me to resolve the issue, but they also failed to tell me they couldn't advise me on what action to take, only to tell me what action to take shortly after! (I need to stress that they advertise professional and legal advice)

I then sought advice from another firm, which wanted 2k per month. This would have bankrupted me as this saga dragged on for almost 4 years.

With piles of paperwork and emails I knew there had to be a better option. That's when I found Kings View Chambers. I worked with Stephen, and I could tell he was the real deal. He was able to see through the charade the regulator was trying to pull, and devised the strategy. It was the first time I genuinely felt like there was someone working on my side!

Stephen covered all bases, he knew exactly what the regulator was going to pull and how we were going to address it. Stephen, provided a comprehnsive service to. He worked with me to make sure that on my day I was able to give myself a fighting chance to defend myself. He took me through the processes and procedures to make sure I was okay. He arranged the charachter references and witness statements. He arranged all the documents, I have learned there are a lot of documents that you need to submit for FTP cases, and they require certain formatting, wording etc. There is no way you can give yourself a fighting chane if you don't submit properly. YOu can really tell by watching how Stephen works he genuinely is invested in making sure that you are properly represented.

The service did not stop there though! After getting the result I wanted, he didn't just leave me. He provided real after care. One of the things he mentioned was that I was going to get sick simply as the body relaxes from the pressure and he wasn't wrong it really hit me like a brick wall.

I really can't thank the team enough for what they have done. Genuinely they have taken me from the darkest days to actually feeling like I can practice again. I have someone I can actually rely on to help me, should I (hopefully never) get into further situation.

The lessons I have taken away from this are:
1) The regulators are not only not your friend. They aren't necessarily even there to give you a fair shot. They are going to do whatever they can to make sure they get their pound of flesh and they are willing to do whatever it takes

2) Big firms arent better firms. It is not a measure of quality.

3) Don't even rely on your indeminity. Read their fine print.

If you, like me, are (were) facing an FTP, KVC is the choice it's a no brainer.

What is a sure way to ruin your career, go bankrupt and never be working again and die from mental health problems - go and appoint Stephen McCaffrey from Kingsview chambers!

Don't listen to any positive reviews - some of them look fake to me, just look at the worst that can be done which they have done to enough people but those reviews keep getting deleted and it's the same trend - did not prepare case, left it to last minute. Shame they keep deleting those reviews.

They will shaft you as a client and it's pot luck if it's you or someone else. This chambers is unethical and dodgy and do not protect you but their own interests. They focus on easy gain cases that maximise profits and they leave everything to the hearing on purpose as they charge a very high day rate for representation which is where they get maximum profit.

There is second to none focus on client preparation in the preceding time or years. I would avoid at all costs.

Also false promises of success to take money. Too much ego in own ability as over estimates what can be achieved in time allocation. Is actually failing cases due to the strategy of leave it to the end which is due to wanting to maximise profits and results in poor organisation, poor case preparation rather than work with client throughout year which would have been a better and more normal approach but they don't want to do that because it requires more time and thus less money made for them.

Furthermore barrister does not obtain or find evidence, leaves it to you but does not even discuss with you what evidence is needed and how to obtain. Has zero people skills or knowledge on how to reassure stressed or anxious clients or clients with personal issues. Zero compassion. Does not go through evidence in detail with the client in advance of hearing to identify missing evidence. Did not prepare my case or me at all. Not only was evidence not prepared which had been emailed many many years ago to the barrister (so they had it) - legal arguments not prepared robustly either. Was poor in all fronts. Did not prepare me for cross examination, or correct factual
inaccuracies in case or final mpts determination making you look like a total fool publically as it would take time, did not tell me specific legal basis of my individual case ie detailed pros, cons, discussion of what to say in hearing and protect client interest. My case required time and patience which they had none to offer. Constantly getting annoyed at me and making me scared when I wanted to discuss personal story and narrative which was ironically basis of legal argument and reason to defend the case.

After negative outcome abandoned me totally, said did not believe me, leaving me to panic from lack of legal advise, leading to further self sabotage as I had to rely on others on what to do to write a reflection and ironically on trust pilot is a review of someone who says the barrister helped them write a reflection. This wasn't done for me and I had to rely on friends who were not legally trained as barrister made no contact with me at all and I said I didn't want certain things in reflection but he didn't allow removal because he wanted to destroy my career. Was actually helping the GMC barrister. Other firms have done case prep years in advance with client so fully comfortable with ins and outs of case and should have been fully prepared at hearing but never did for my case and never advised me and if I wanted to discuss would get super super frustrated. I spoke to other firms and the problem is the barrister and not me as other firms were much much better at interpersonal skills and extracting information and actually caring about the case. Stephen regularly forgot details of the case and attention to details was poor and trying to find counter arguments was completely lacking.

This poor preparation and poor attitude led to destruction of my career for a case that was fully defendable. This is just a money hungry firm, string you along with promises and then you get stuck with them and they will ruin your career and even go against you when initially they was with you to suit themselves. Self centered and not client centered. Avoid at all costs. Very high costs for amount of time spent on case and client interaction.

Quoted me a lower fixed fee which then changed to higher amount! Very greedy, don't care about people, their lives or their stories, couldn't even put a legal file together and identify missed evidence, counter arguments, reassure client about sharing information or help client write reflection. Totally worst firm to exist and have sponsored themselves over google to ruin more people lives. Should not be direct access as don't have any people or time skills or time for direct access work but want the money that is associated with it. Should just be a barrister chambers only
