This company claims to be a nonprofit…
This company claims to be a nonprofit organization. They charged me $3000.00 for a CT scan that took 30 minutes. I found out later that I could have gotten the same scan elsewhere for around $800.00. Tell me how that is nonprofit. They charged me 3 times more than it should have cost me. I called them to see if we could work something out. They told me they can't help me and that I need to apply for financial aid online. They also told me that if I had no insurance they would give me a 30% discount but with insurance it would only be 5%. I went through the process of applying for financial aid and it sat there for several months without anything being done. Next thing I know I'm getting notifications that it has been sent to collections. There was not even the 5% discount they told me they could give me. This is a classic example of price gouging and taking advantage of people.
they hate you
I brought my sick, dehydrated infant daughter to emergency room of St. George Reginal Hospital June 29th 2026. She was air-lifted to Lehi children hospital, arrived early morning June 30, 2026 before me since I was driving from St, George, UT.
At intensive care, a "pediatric" saw my daughter who was severe dehydrated and didn't eat the past two days, reported to DCS that I've neglected her and diagnosed "Failure to Thrive", also linked dehydration with feeding water which is against common sense (either dehydrated or water toxication, it can't be both). This "Pediatric" was completed ignore the fact and against the rules to diagnose Failure to Thrive. Per legal documents: diagnose Failure to Thrive should start the height's measurement, then trend of weight to compare ...... The fact is, my daughter had grown 3.28" at her 54 days (per medical records) that is higher than average of 1" per month.
Such hatred action is causing my daughter being under DCS custody since July 3rd, 2026. My daughter was tortured by feeding less, 900ml daily for 10 days since she was full 3 month old reduced from 960 ml daily for no medical reason. Besides, my daughter "grew" allergy that there was no allergy panel included in the medical records which means my daughter didn't get checked nor receive proper care. And, this has affected my other two daughters, twins are under DCS custody since Aug 5, 2026 in LA. Besides large amount of legal fees, I need to drive between two state every week for child visit and services provided by DCS.
DCS has no intention to return my daughters all due to the big gifts from this hospital, from such "professionals. This hospital is leaving such "pediatric" irresponsible reports un-checked, un-verified.
On top all these, this hospital refused to release medical records to me, in which the treatment could proof that my daughter didn’t have water toxication nor kidney failure which was one of hospital staff called to reported. This hospital said “foster parents” blocked it, ignored the fact that there’s no foster parents” unless I lose my daughter which is exactly this hospital wants to happen. Hatred is full filed their heart, evil.
Such hospital should be down-graded and known by public to be very careful when bringing their child to if they have no other option.
LDS Hospital W8 Care
We recently spent 4 days on W8. It was the worst care that you could get. Nurses screaming at us. Doctors not listening to what the problem was. They took all my husband’s medications away and let him go thru withdrawal. He is a bone marrow transplant patient and they treated him terribly. They talked down to us and had no respect whatsoever. We are so angry about this.
Doctors and some nurses would not listen to us. We came to the hospital because my husband had aspirated and he needed help. Some help they gave him. They tortured him for 4 days.
He had his transplant at LDS Hospital 13 years ago. I have to say… the care you will receive at this hospital now will be no comparison to the treatment he received 13 years ago.
We also spent time at LDS Hospital 2 years ago on Christmas Day.My hubby was not treated very well then either. Again, we were on W8. We were told that is where they send you when they don’t know what to do with you. That made us feel welcomed.
Enough is enough.
If you get treatment like this, there are patient advocates you can talk too. I am getting in touch with them right away. No one should be talked down too. You should never be treated like you are stupid. You should never be treated like you stole narcotics and then get tortured like you are taking illegal drugs off the street.
He is a cancer survivor patient!!!
We had a follow up with both of his doctors who care for him. They were appalled at the treatment he received. All I can say is we are done!

The prescription is being reviewed by our team??
My Cardiologist now affiliated with this organization unfortunately should not be considered in my review as he is outstanding. THE INTERNAL CLERKS are non caring and seem preoccupied rather than finding out why it takes them two weeks with multiple calls from me and requests from my pharmacy to fill a much needed CRESTOR order. I'm done with unfounded excuses that when pressed for answers go unanswered! Been given any number of 'excuses. " Another Dr filled it before and they need authorization?" When I told her I did not know that person she then told me his name at Intermountain which is them!!! ... Calls Monday, its in processing, pharmacy nothing, call Thursday its waiting for authorization ??From whom? She couldn't tell me. I have made clear for 2 weeks, now into the third week without this heart medication I am now feeling sick still nothing. Nausea, entire body aching.
Don't bother leaving a message on "another line ," no one calls you back. They tell you call your pharmacy. Which I have done 2 weeks with them as well and they can't do anything until the order is filled.
So here I am over 2 weeks actually now still trying to get a medication I have been on for years, feeling sick as well as completely frustrated with their lack of initiative to help a patient instead of contributing to their potential demise without medication that keeps her alive.
Do yourselves a favor, STAY AWAY FROM THESES people, you will die before ever getting treatment~ My family knows if something happens what they are to do! I have every date and persons name I have spoken to. I have now asked them three times to have my physician, not another clerk call me back and if they can't get me, then leave a message for my attorney! Minus 100in number of stars!
Now August 18th and still nothing, but its being filled?? Right,,still nothing with my pharmacy. Truly pathetic.

My son had a boating accident and…
My son had a boating accident and wanted to make sure he didn’t have any structural damage. Took him to emergency room to get X-ray. The people were nice. When I got the bill I was dumbfounded by the cost.
Bill was for $ 6,832.
They did an X-ray and the “ suggested “ a CT scan, Charged me $ 3,000 just for the visit.
No one at any time felt necessary to share what the cost of the visit would be nor what each procedure would cost.
In highlight I guess I should have asked and negotiated with them about this.
Feel like I was taken advantage of and lack of disclosure / usurious pricing.
I expected my insurance company ( Cigna ) to help represent me on pricing and they did nothing. Reduced bill by $ 900.
Not sure what other options I had weren’t but feel compelled to alert others to what a “ rip off “ Intermountain services are.

Abusive ER Staff - Cassia Regional Hospital
I experienced abuse from this ER staff to the point I no longer self safe or cared for in this hospital, and had to leave. I requested to speak with a supervisor after being in extreme pain related to my kidneys for 3 hours to the point it was causing tears during my CT scan. A female in her late 20's came to my room. She had an extremely indifferent, sarcastic, and passive aggressive attitude. She looked to be in her 20's with wavy brown hair, very thin build. This was prior to me even talking to her about what the problem was. My best recollection is that her name was "Mandy". I tried to explain to Mandy I was left in pain and not one person in the ER was caring or attentive about this issue with my kidney pain that continued to grow worse. It was ignored. "Mandy" proceeded to speak to me as if I was a child, again in an extremely passive aggressive manner, as if I was the problem for bringing up my concerns. My patient rights to professional care were clearly being violated, and this person was making it known any way she could that she could not care less, and was absolutely immune to any type of consequences for her behavior. It was to such a point that I no longer felt safe in the care of this hospital, and it was absolutely abusive. I notified a family member that I was being treated this way, who called the hospital to inquire why I was being left in pain and treated this way by the staff. She was being hateful toward me, while trying to disguise it behind a facade of being courteous, yet it was extremely passive aggressive and threatening. This staff member also acted like it was "fun", when I notified her I would be filing an official complaint regarding her behavior. I asked her to remove my IV so that I could leave. After leaving the hospital, I contacted the desk to inquire the name of the person who had treated me this way, so I could file a complaint to the State Medical Board. I was transferred to "Celise", who stated she was the "charge nurse". I informed her that I needed to file a complaint against a staff member regarding the way I was treated, and needed the staff member's name to report the grievance, and described that it was the person who had removed my IV. It was immediately apparent that Celise was complicit in this behavior, and informed me she was standing just outside. She also fabricated that I had "ripped out my IV" which never occurred, and can be verified by the hospital's camera system. She was not only aware of the abuse occurring in my room, she was fully supportive of it. These two staff members feel they can treat patients any way they please, as long as they conspire with each other to shield from any consequences for their abusive behavior.
Paid 4k and still wants more
Wow, and again IHC wins. Had a double hernia surgery that went well. I forked out 4k for my deductible, of my own money. Was called about post op appointment 2 days after surgery and scheduled to come in at the 2 week mark. Went to the appointment and it wasn't my doctor, it was another doctor. We'll in behold, that doctor was not in my network. I have fought my claim for 6 months and I finally got notified yesterday that I still owe. I verified and verified the doctor, the hospital the anesthesiologist and any one else that gets there hands in the pot was covered by my insurance...Thanks IHC for doing such a fantastic job!!! I won't be back..
if there was a lower star i would be…
if there was a lower star i would be giving it.ever sense they changes they system it has been a nightmare
Back in jjuly of last year had to have MRI (It wasnt the MRI that was the nightmare it was the billing) even thought i was going into the hospital paying on my bill every month they decided to send that bill to collections ,and that still wasnt the problem , the problem was some one didnt do thire job and it was not billed to my insurance at all . So i had to get on phone to get things straight at which time i ask my insure what my part would be , i also ask the hospital what my balance was at the hospital at that time i payed both ,now they are saying my insure didnt pay thire full amount so i got ahold of them they confirmed they paid their full amount and i paid my full amount but now IHC is not only saying i owe an additional 131 that i have also ended paying but they have also sent it to collection(AGAIN) that has dropped my CS its never ending with these people
So be prepared is all i can say and to put it best is I would rather go to a dog vet before i would go to that place

2 1/2 weeks ago I was admitted in the hospital. I see Logan it was just past 1 o’clock admitting doctor suspected I was having a heart attack so we put me on the acute floor. Then the doctor never returned no nurses return. No one did anything for me so I kept pushing the button saying now my chest is killing me I need help bottom line. The nurse did like my attitude threw me out of the hospital. I walked 10 blocks cause they didn’t drive to the hospital they found me in the middle of the street. I had a heart attack which required 10 steps to be put in my heart. My complaint is they don’t give a crap not one person from the hospital called me to say what happened I get bits and pieces from how the hospital perspective is that the word was that doctors are tired of left. None of the nurses knew what was going on. Said they didn’t know how to treat me. I almost died if it weren’t for two people pulling up next to me and asking hey and getting out of the car and calling for help it is a shoot hospital. I would never send a dead corpse to him.
The IT Dept is a Model of Incompetency
The IT Dept. is a model of Incompetency. The Intermountain Health Care "MYCHART" website is such complete junk that no one can even sign up to use it.
As an Intermountain Healthcare customer (Patient) for the last dozen years, let me say that their transition to their new "MYCHART" system has been an absolute failure.
a) There is no account transition from your old Intermountain account (which still works) to the new one.
b) The new one is badly bugged by AI authentication schemas which ask preposterous questions about your Credit Application history in the past 5 years (none of which have any semblance of reality attached to them), over and over and over again.
c) Account verification algorithms, such as Email or Text messaging are totally nonfunctional and can only result in a non-plussed result because NO MESSAGE is EVER SENT!
Whoever is running this company must have bought into some AI virtual reality concept and enacted this horrible patient portal in the belief they were saving the company millions of dollars be doing so.
The days of being able to access your patient records, dialogs with physicians, or vital clinical results of testing are obviously over with, Intermountain Healthcare.
Shame!
Truly shocked how poor every aspect was…
Truly shocked how poor every aspect was while also marveling at Intermountain's ability to hire the surliest, the most unhelpful, the unfriendliest, the snippiest people to answer all their phones. I went through Intermountain's website utilizing Intermountain's find a provider feature wher Intermountain only provides incorrect information. GP near me accepting new patients: to book appointment 3 phone #s listed for each provider (all the same #s), none which connect with an actual clinic but do all connect with people who find callers a total bore. THIS IN THROUGH INTERMOUNTAIN'S OWN WEBSITE, not some janky 3rd-party admin. Instead found AdventHealth, went through their website, immediately was connected, correctly, with a provider, and the staff were lovely, friendly, helpful. Talk about night and day.
Terrible, incompetent billing customer service based in the Philippines.
I have been a patient at Intermountain Healthcare in Colorado since they took over SCL Health I few years ago. I was a patient at SCL for many years and had good service. Now Intermountain's billing customer service representatives are in the Philippines, and the service is just awful. I mean you simply can't get a billing issues resolved because the reps don't actually understand medical billing, and there are significant communication problems. (Info online says Intermountain has hundreds of customer service employees now in the Philippines).
When I called recently (2026) about a clear billing error that Intermountain had made (duplicate billing for a service paid by me and my insurance many months ago), I could not understand the billing representative. (My insurance company had confirmed the billing error for me with the CPT code .)
The Intermountain rep had a heavy accent and very odd English grammar, and it was obvious after the first minute that he didn't understand me either or what I was calling about (his answers sounded like he was reading from a script). There was also a bad phone connection from the thousands of miles away, which made things worse. I asked to talk to a rep in the U.S., and he said he would connect me. Then he just hung up. When I called back I had a similar experience and finally just said "thank you" and hung up in frustration.
To be clear, I am not criticizing the foreign reps, who are just looking for work; this is all Intermountain's fault for hiring them instead of giving jobs to Americans who need the work as well.
I assume my only other option is to mail Intermountain a certified letter threatening legal action if they try to send me to collections for their obvious billing error (you can go to local small claims court).
Also, the wait times to talk to talk to these reps (who can't help you anyway) are terrible. After you are on hold for a while, a recording asks if you want a callback that they say could come anytime in the "next 24 hours." (Does that mean they can call in middle of the night in the U.S.?). My callback was hours later, which is just not practical if you are occupied at work.
It is just terrible that Intermountain Health is doing this to patients. Billing problems can obviously involve thousands of dollars and these people in the Philippines are not competent to handle this and can't carry on an English conversation. It isn't like a company having foreign customer service for a gizmo you buy on Amazon; this is your health and finances.
This also obviously also creates a terrible risk for identity theft since these people are in a foreign country with a very high rate of cybercrime and have acces to your name, address, date of birth, and informaton on all your medical procedures (via CPT codes on your bills.). Possibly also your social security number and other information on their computers. There is also a significant probability of a patient data breach in the Phillipines of all Intermountain Healthcare's patient billing records. Then all your information will be on the dark web for theives to steal your identity or sell the info to people in the U.S. who will impersonate you for expensive healthcare (happens all the time). Cigna had a data breach a couple of years ago, and their customer service was also in a foreign country where it may have occurred.
This whole situation with Intermountain's billing customer service is terrible. Perhaps if they get sued by someone with a lawyer for "tortious impairment of credit" and have to pay their own lawyers due to their foreign reps inability to solve simple billing errors they will stop this nonsense and hire Americans who are well trained and can speak English well.
I want to stay with my primary care doctor who I have had for many years , but this situation is just awful, and shows that Intermountain Healthcare has no concern at all for patient billing customer service. I may have to change doctors because of this nonsense. I can't afford to have Intermountain send a bill to collections and ruin my credit because the foreign billing reps are incompetent to handle a simple duplicate billing error. Unless this situation changes, I would recommend avoiding Intermountain Healthcare and also investigate online and by calling who handles the customer service for your possible providers (and health insurance company). Only use U.S.-based customer service or you can have serious problems.
Intermountain Health is beyond…
Intermountain Health is beyond Horrible. My husband has now had two cardiologists at this place. The first one could not have cared less so we fired him. The second one got high reviews but from our experience we ask why. My husband was scheduled for a test last week and prior I called and spoke to two different people in the cardiologist's office saying there is one medication my husband has to discontinue after one year due to horrible side effects. I told them that he wanted an answer the day of his test. NOT. He was told the day of his test that he could see his doctor in August or go back to the cardiologist we fired. What the F. How on earth did this facility get approved or survive? Wait until August, are you kidding me? They have no business being in business, period. Now I am looking for another doctor who takes pride in what he does and cares about a patient's survival. Intermountain Health Care is anything BUT.
INTERMOUNTAIN HEALTH
Modern western medicine is being eaten alive by corporate greed.Clinicians still show up to help people. The problem is the executive class, the insurance middlemen, and the billing parasites who turned suffering into a business model. They reward overtesting, overbilling, denial, burnout, and bureaucratic abuse. They hide behind “protocols” and “policy” while patients get crushed and staff get ground down. That is not care.
That is extraction. And let’s stop pretending this is some unfortunate accident. When a system keeps making money off confusion, fear, and illness, it is designed to protect profit — not people. The bedside workers are not the villains here.
The people cashing the checks from the top absolutely are.Investigate them. Audit them. Expose them. Hold them accountable.Because patients are getting wrecked, clinicians are getting burned out, and the people responsible keep getting richer.
Their schedule people are incompetent…
Their schedule people are incompetent to say the least. They are also not allowing doctors to send orders to Logan Hospital for MRIs, no if you live within 50 miles they send it to a satellite company in Ogden; which is actually over 50 miles for me, more like 60. Why would I drive 60 miles, spending over an hour driving one way and then hurt really bad laying on the table, just to get up and have to drive another 1.5 hours to home. I am insured and they just want to save themselves money and don't care about patients that have Stage 4 cancer and an extremely bad back.
My husband needed 2 scans
My husband needed 2 scans, MRI and mra. we received the estimates for both and decided to go with IHC in Butte Mt. We pre paid the amount in full the day of the scan. A few days later we received a bill for $3099. more. We had several audits done from the main office to no satisfaction . We worked with a woman at the hospital and she was also told they are legitimate charges but she also has questions about the estimates being so far off. I think someone coded wrong and now we are paying for it. We hope to never do business with IMH ever again and will advise anyone else to do the same
I got good care
I got good care, but IHC has outsourced their billing to Utah Emergency Room Physicians. They are deceptive and do not communicate or try to resolve billing issues. I'm extremely disappointed.
They just flat out refuse to address their billing errors
I changed to a new ACA plan, which meant I had to change primary care providers. I chose one from IntermountainHealth as they are big in my area (Denver). I then scheduled my annual wellness visit, which should be 100% covered under the ACA.
I had a good visit and thought the provider was great. Nothing was discussed outside the normal annual wellness stuff.
I then received a bill from Intermountain for a $35 copay (for a primary care visit). I wrote back and told them it was a wellness visit and that by law they needed to cover it 100% without a copay.
They responded that they were billing me for a wellness visit AND a primary care visit.
WHAT ON EARTH? I have never in all my years of having ACA insurance and getting annual wellness checkups been billed in such a way.
I can't possibly think of any service that was provided that would fall outside of annual wellness, but they refuse to change it.
Other things I've noticed: They take a LONG time to process referrals. An urgent referral took over a week, and they only processed it after I called them. It was just sitting there in their system getting ignored.
Also, once the referral went through, I wasn't able to schedule an appointment. They say you can schedule online, but that's only if you have one of the seven big insurance plans in the dropdown box. Everyone else has to call a centralized call center, and they literally never answer the phone. I did the option where you can request a call back three times. Never got a call back. I ended up going out of system for my appointment, and it caused a big delay in my care.
Another interesting point: Intermountain actually owns my insurance company (SelectHealth), but they apparently hate their own insureds. I'm treated like a bastard stepchild by Intermountain Health. I can't schedule online. Whenever SelectHealth processes a bill from Intermountain, they always flag it as charging too much, which is hilarious, but also bizarre. In my experience, the other health system in town that takes SelectHealth is much easier to deal with.
It's annoying that I've now attached myself somewhat to Intermountain through this new primary care doctor, but I'll definitely be extricating myself as fast as possible.
Intermountain Health not for the better
Intermountain Health and their new way of doing things is not patient friendly or for the patients best interest. They have a centralized call center answering phone calls and these people have limited ability to be helpful. It is not an option to get things done quickly but to further complicate things by requiring extra steps to receive scans and results. It doesn't matter if you fill out the forms for the information or not, there is always one more hoop to jump through. The changes at Intermountain Health are not for the better.
I WOULD GIVE A ZERO IF I COULD!
I WOULD GIVE A ZERO IF I COULD!
My mother's primary doctor at Astrana Care on Blue Diamond just switched to Intermountain Health as his medical group, which switched her medical group on her Medicare Insurance "Alignment Health + Instacart HMO" from Alignment Health Care Plan to Intermountain Health - Payer ID xxxx. Problem is, Intermountain Health has a horrifying system with no accountability, checks, or balances! They have denied many of the medications my mother was taking a month prior stating, "medicine not in formulary", then when I follow the rules to ask for acceptions, they deny them. The customer service representatives cannot tell me what comporable medicines are in their formulary and the doctors need us to give them options which the insurance company doesn't do! This was all happening while my mother, (83yo), had complications from a heart valve repair and hospitalized through the ER twice for multiple Aneurysms! Also, I have been on the phone over 2 hours trying to get simple Diabetic supplies for her like lancets and test strips. They too aren't covered! When I asked them to tell me what supplies are so I can have her doctor send in a new RX for that... they said, "NOTHING IS COVERED!" Is that right??? Not a single lancet or test strip company is covered, we have to go through "exceptions" which take 72 hrs and let's face it, they already denied the 2nd request for exception for meds. To their credit, their customer service people are very patient and kind but have no support to support us. Being on the phone for over 2 hours for diabetic supplies is unacceptable and that is why they get a NO VOTE OF CONFIDENCE from this daughter. This is UNACCEPTABLE to do to an 83yo lady who just almost lost her life twice. Shame on you Intermountain Health!
