‘Don’t have it’ and no floor plan.

Last Sunday I took the time to purchase bathroom furniture and kitchen cabinetry. The IKEA hostess pulled a dirty sheet from the desk to show the bathroom section on the other side of the building. No floor plan. Once there, it was under Reno. Made it up to cafeteria to rethink and no signage where to leave the tray. Cheesecake not on a plate. The “kitchen section” is two furnished kitchens with chairs of 25 sf. Two. Nothing about various styles or sizes. Next, no candles in sight at ground floor register area anywhere. Food store next: two items and the register to be used is the French fries deli, the register to the left. Endless running, and asking, like where is ‘as is section’ (was directed there), trying to get there reasonably. All for nothing. Experienc: not worthwhile.
Felt like a store going out of business. IKEA is a myth from the past.

Shattered plate. No refund and bad communication

Bad. Just bad. They shipped plates with the whole batch of my order in a big parcel. Obviously it arrived shattered in pieces and I cut myself. No bubble wrap, no separate box. Doesn't take a genius to know how to ship that separately and safely. Besides, the box didn't have any fragile not this side up mention.
Now for the best part, they won't refund because the case is handled by their safety team. Except that mysterious team has never called me and they told me I should expect a call.. at an unknown date and time. People have other things to do than waiting from IKEA to call! When asking for a direct number, a refund, or escalating to a supervisor, my request got denied and they sent the same template all over.
Edit: Feb 26, finally got a call today. Wasted 10 minutes of my time with stupid questions, when asked her name and employee number she replied super fast on purpose. Had to repeat 3 times to finally get it. Lied to me that they attempted 3 times to reach me yet 0 voicemail not entry in the call log. Now gotta wait another call for resolution and eventually a refund.

LAGKAPTEN / ADILS no bueno

I had a grey table top a while back that was really good! I got another one but white, but the coating is SO THIN that it's already chipping!!!! It's the LAGKAPTEN / ADILS. I use it to pack orders for my small business, what I pack is soft. I've only had it a few months. Super dissapointed.

Just tried a first time online order.

Just tried a first time online order with IKEA. What a nightmare and garbage system. Ended up failing to process my order twice and the system doesn't save shipping and billing info in the session so I had to type it all in again. Not going to waste my time a third time. So my first time $2K order is not happening, I'll take my business elsewhere and never deal with IKEA.

The power of teamwork

To be frank, I’ve had some really really bad experiences with IKEA Etobicoke. However, today was not one of them. After logging in to the customer service portal, I walked over to the pick up counter to see where I should present my issue. An employee listened to my issue and took ownership to see who could assist me(he didn’t have a tag on or I would definitely have mentioned him).

The employee found someone in the back who could assist me with an ill-fitting shelf. He found a chap named Abbas and I explained the issue. Abbas took the shelf, went into the back and within 2 minutes had my problem solved. Abbas was courteous and humble in fixing my assembly issue. And when he handed it to me, a nearby customer service associate asked if I needed a cart not knowing if I had one or not.

The biggest compliment I can levy is that all three employees I interacted with today were amazing - very courteous and helpful. I don’t see across the board teamwork like this in many businesses. Abbas and his two colleagues were simply the best!

gift card

I had a gift card from my daughter for 100$. It was unopened and the back was not scratched off. The balance the first time I used it was 0$! Customer service representative said that they had a file open on this happening (I'm guessing in store theft?) but then her boss came out and said too bad! It shows that it was used on a date that we were not even in town! So beware of buying gift cards! Very disappointed.

Purchased a bed from Ikea

Purchased a bed from Ikea, t arrived damaged. To be fair, we didn't open the box right away because of home renovations.
Called Ikea and asked to purchase the damaged headboard.....apparently they can't sell parts. Now we're left with a headboard with a big piece missing.

Bad customer service .We went to Ikea yesterday July 12

We went to Ikea yesterday July 12 . I bought 3 items then all of a sudden she stopped and called somebody , but on the other line didn’t answer . She didn’t explained to me what happened coz she just stopped , I saw on the computer it’s all there , then she called the other cashier to checked the item and it’s all good . I paid and the cashiers didn’t even say thank you, She was so rude to us . Bad experienced. My bad I should have checked her Name .

Itès not managed by Scandanavians or Europeans so itès going to function in a way that reflects the culture and the location of the store.

Dishonest, Passive aggressive and under qualified managers for the jobs needs done. The employees donèt care about IKEA because theyère not Scandanavian anymore. The stores are run by people from around the world who donèt know how to run it differently. The Ikea family has wonderful ideas and they want it to change very much for the better but the employees wonèt and cant change because itès managers are not hiring or keeping enough of the correct people in order for
the customers experience to improve. itès a cultural and generational issue.

Horrible experience with the customer service

Horrible experience with the customer service and its despicable practices:
We made a big order delivered directly at home last week, unfortunately one of the product delivered was mis matched (don't know whose fault it was but we missed some parts and others were not for our product) so we contacted the customer service and here began our nightmare... At first it seemed it was ok as they planned a pick up for the defective packages and planned a new product to be delivered two days later, except that two days later we waited for nothing. The order was cancelled without any notice. We recontacted the customer service who planned a new delivery for the next monday (again two days later) but guess what, the same thing happened. So we reach the customer service again and a third delivery is finaly planned for this morning with the word of the customer service person that I quote: "I have rescheduled your replacement order for 11/02/2022 without fail". But nothing different hapenned!! Ikea is just a big scam, every time replacement orders are cancelled whitout any notice but the defective lot was well picked up. We wasted at least 3 hours chatting with useless people and wasted 3 entire mornings waiting for a fake delivery. The worst is that our case is not even closed and far from being so. The last chat consisted in a person making fun of us, telling us that the delivery fees has already been reimbursed, (which is a lie as our bank account can show), that for being reimbursed we should at least wait a week, and that we won't receive an e-mail confirmation (why?) only a "case number" (so fingers crossed but we don't really expect it to work properly this time). And finally, we have to send back by our proper mean some side parts to expect a full reimbursment whereas they could have been picked up with the others pieces... It is simply a big joke, this company and their customer service.. For now we were simply robbed of $500. Great job ikea you truly are fantastic somehow.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! We spent a lot of money at Ikea but had…

We spent a lot of money at Ikea but had one problem with a dresser. I have been on the phone with Ikea customer service for 5 weeks 10 phone calls( I am keeping track) now trying to get that one part. All I get is - I am sorry or let me put you on hold. Nobody gets anywhere with this. Do they just put you on hold and pretend to call the stores? Do they put you on hold so they can drink their coffee? I dont understand why its so difficult to get one part!

Take the money and wait and wait . . .

They take your money instantly on an online order then nothing. They give an estimate date of delivery that is so far off the mark then it takes forever to track the order and they are always sorry, but have no answers as to when the product may arrive. This is even if it is in stock according to the store listed on their website. Never again will I order anything from their website!!!!

Terrible and faulty scheduling system

I don't know why IKEA even keeps trying. It's amazing how they quickly go and say "We're so sorry to hear about that" but actually they are not doing anything to fix it.

Two times, a pick-up order was cancelled pending payment when payment was done. Then a new order was issued and worked fine.

They say you cannot send back your mattress dirty or with damage, but their pick-up service threw that on the patio floor, dragged it everywhere with no care, and I got the refund. Is that only to scare customers?

Finally, how come on a country where they KNOW how condos work (that you have to schedule a time slot for elevator) their pickup service just can't have any scheduling at all? They can show up from 8AM to 9PM anytime they want! That's beyond funny!

It's cheap? Yup.
But you pay that price later.

The Death of IKEA

As COVID rages on and war is on the horizon for much of the world, IKEA insist upon making the world worse still by selling products that are more difficult to navigate than the Lament Configuration box from Hellraiser. Half expecting to encounter Medusa at the end of my hike through my local Ikea, I made the terrible decision to purchase a kitchen from these Scandinavian flunkies. Half of the kitchen was returned at my expense while the other half hangs forlornly from my kitchen walls, broken hinges
scratched hood fan an all. Customer service is an experience unto itself- while polite and somewhat desperate to help, no real help was forthcoming. Still I soldier on and keep coming back often returning with only a frozen bag of meatballs and a Dime bar to show for all my trouble. The fix? If one can't fix the quality of their Italian and Slovakian made "Swedish" furniture, then groups of men and women both Swedish and other should be sent out in teams (at least within the city limits) to help fix the myriad problems associated with the chintz that is masquerading as "common sense" furnishings at no further expense to the downtrodden consumer. Manufacture a cabinet that sticks together as well as your lingonberry jam sticks to the inside of my IKEA fridge and then you might not be on your way to Valhalla just yet.
