Great Teachers, Crummy Platform
I still use Iboux academy. I have a handful of teachers that I really like working with. They are solid, true educators. They offer excellent instruction and continue you to push me into speaking more in my foreign language. However, the Iboux platform is really outdated and cumbersome to use.
The website in general is slow. If you need to read a message or grab a homework assignment, it takes longer than it should. It's a noticeable delay.
My biggest issue is scheduling. Because of the bugs and delays involved in the scheduling software, I try and reserve a block of time at the beginning of the month and confine that painful process to 30-60 min. In contrast, some of the other language apps, I can do on my phone in seconds. This is an area of improvement Iboux is aware of but has not invested in the user experience.
I truly hope Iboux continues to work on their platform. There is a lot of competition in this space with some other great applications that do language learning better. I would like to see Iboux succeed.

Great language lesson resource
I started lessons in 2020 but didn't finish and just recently started back. It's great that lessons never expire. I needed current instructors added to my dashboard and customer service got back to me right away with an updated dashboard. They are always fast to respond to any of my queries. I've found an instructor I really like working with and am happy to be back to my french lessons.

Para mí una de las mejores experiencias, mi hijo 12 años y nivel B2, que no quería ir a clases, fue eligiendo sus profesores y está encantado. Cuadramos horarios con lis profesores y actividades. En 7 meses ha obtenido el C1. Para mí una maravilla y siempre lo recomiendo

I am an English teacher by profession, and I am familiar with the different efficiencies and qualities of language teaching and learning.
I am also extremely happy with the flexible hour schedule, as I have a family and work to do in addition to learning French. I can warmheartedly recommend this application.

It’s so easy to book a slot that fits your schedule! Most English teachers are based in South Africa, so if you live in Europe, it’s really convenient to find a time in the same time zone.
The lessons are fully tailored to your needs, whether you prefer casual conversation or more traditional grammar-based lessons.
I’ve been taking classes for two years now, and it’s always a pleasure to start a lesson, never a chore. I’ve really noticed an improvement in my speaking skills since I joined Iboux.

Estoy encantada con Iboux
Estoy encantada con Iboux. Ofrece una gran variedad de horarios, la posibilidad de coordinarte con tu profesor e incluso elegir entre varios. En mi caso, he encontrado a una profesora maravillosa con quien encajo perfectamente y que me está ayudando muchísimo en mi aprendizaje del inglés.
He pasado por muchas academias y profesores particulares, pero ninguno como ella. Explica muy bien, mantiene las clases en inglés y corrige los errores mientras refuerza la gramática y el vocabulario. ¡Una experiencia excelente!

Llevo un año estudiando en esta academia y la recomiendo totalmente. A destacar el nivel docente de sus profesores y si te surge algún problema técnico tienes a un equipo que te ayuda a resolverlo.
Yo creo que acerté cuando elegí iboux para perfeccionar mi inglés.

I have been with iboux for 7 years and…
I have been with iboux for 7 years and can’t say enough good things. I have never had a problem doing the lessons completely according to my needs. In addition, their lesson plans are up to date and relevant with today’s vocabulary and current events.

I had good and bad experience with iboux. The teachers change often, leave platform. It is impossible to form an ongoing relationship and observe progress.
In the beginning it was much better. Many teachers are not professional. Speaking the language doesn't mean teaching it.

It depends what you are looking for
Good but not super. The professors I met were all professional and kind. However, it was a bit haphazard with a variety of different tutors, and it started to feel like the educational equivalent of fast food. I needed something a bit more solid and nourishing. It really depends what you're looking for. I already live and work in France. I signed up for this course to work on my grammar, rather than to have conversations in French which I do every day of my life. But for someone who really needs the oral practice, this would be super.

Positive online learning experience
Initial complimentary trial lesson allowed me to understand the way the Iboux Academy worked. After that I signed up for a package of classes and continued with the same teacher who conducted the trial class. I find the lessons and optional homework to be well designed and presented and are already helping me to make progress towards my learning objectives. The technology platform is intuitive and supports the learning process.
