Hotel Du Vin Exeter is a nice hotel in a good location very much let down by poor customer service. The weekend after we made the booking I called the hotel to book a spa treatment for my wife. Before i was transferred to the spa the receptionist asked if I would like to reserve a parking space which I said yes to. Upon arrival the male receptionist said we owed £20 for the space. I informed him we were not informed about the additional parking fee when we were offered it. The receptionist came across snooty by informing me that if I didn’t want the space there is public parking available across the road. He also took a confrontational approach to my conjecture by stating he was confused how the spa team could offer me a parking space when they didn’t have access to said booking system. I informed the rude receptionist that the parking booking was completed by the reception team before I was transferred. This initial meeting left my wife and I with a bitter and unwelcome feeling to the start of our stay (not to mention being £20 lighter). The other issue included the staff shortage because I had to try and find staff to serve me at the bar which took me 5 minutes.

Excellent restaurant

We paid over £700 for 2 nights for a single room in St Andrews which was barely bigger than a cupboard and had no windows. It was student drop off weekend, so they were fully booked and I get supply and demand, but there’s a point where brand ethics kick in and a responsible business would say ‘there’s a maximum we fairly charge for a room like this’. The staff were lovely, but this is now just another average chain being run to maximise profit. Public areas also felt tired and smelt stale

A fantastic meal with friends. Jakob was attentive as ever with the drinks. Will, Allessandro and Vinnie were very attentive. Compliments to Simone the lovely chef. 10/10

Will, vinnie, and Alessandro at hotel du vin Bristol made my birthday very special. The service was impeccable. The food was outstanding, Simone the chef did a fantastic job.

I work in Brighton a few days a week which sees me staying over often. I have tried ALL the hotels and B&B's and Hotel Du Vin is the stand out. Best value for money and the staff are amazing - a special call out to Diego who sets the gold standard when it comes to making guests feel welcome and special. I highly recommend HDV Brighton.

A meal at the hotel in Stratford upon Avon was a delight The hotel decor was impeccable and spotless. The staff were friendly , professional and informative.
However it was a shame that only 16% of the tables were occupied,mainly residents. The hotel are missing out on local residents because their is no marketing strategy. The hotel from the outside appeared closed, but the entrance is on the side ( no signage if dropped off at front).A busy restaurant helps with the general ambience and enjoyment of the diners. This hotel is in a town with heavy tourist footfall and residents looking for quality. The CEO needs to free up the hotel to do its own promotion and not use a “one fit “ group approach. Well done to all the restaurant staff for a lovely evening, albeit quiet.

Stayed at the Wimbledon hotel on the common.
Staff were all very good and professional.
Food excellent but at breakfast limited gluten free options.
The reason for only two stars is the annoyance having to pay £12 per night for parking in the grounds of the hotel, mean and unnecessary.
Will not return on principle.

Recent Sunday Lunch in Birmingham was amazing and the staff so helpful. We will be back!

Stayed at HDV Harrogate for a business trip and would like to say that this hotel is perfect. Situated in the center of Harrogate and all amenities are just short walk from the hotel. The staff is so pleasant and professional. The rooms are nice and spacious and the breakfast was amazing. So many options to choose from. definitely will come back again!

Went to Hotel Du Vin Tunbridge Wells for Sunday lunch excellent food, great service and excellent location the staff were very professional and the 3 course set lunch amazing value.

Terry and Fay in York have saved our lives today when our engine wouldn’t start and went out of their ways (even rescheduling meetings!) to get our broken car started again, making sure we also had a coffee. Their service was a 10/10! Huge, huge thanks! Would recommend this place to everyone!!

We dined at Hotel du Vin, in Cheltenham, and it was fantastic service and the food was brilliant. The price was more than fair, too. We’re looking forward to going again!

Stayed in the Exeter Hotel this weekend for a big family event 16- 18 May 2024, Staff very pleasant nothing was to much trouble, service excellent and breakfast wonderful. Cannot thank the staff enough for their hard work throughout the weekend to make our stay enjoyable.

My husband planned surprise trip to Hotel Du vin Cambridge and the first impression was best, Kalpana was so welcoming and wished me Happy birthday and she was so new to the company but her knowledge and service was outstanding. We had dinner at the Bistro, food was delicious but lack of service, my husband was unhappy with the bill which was a mistake and was not clear since we had package booked and the staffs were not aware, otherwise overall a good stay.

Hotel Du Vin Wimbledon. You could pick minor faults with this hotel if you really wanted to, but why would you want to.
The hotel is fantastic as are the gardens. We booked a suite, which was nice (there were a few minor details in the room that could do with being sorted - broken window lock, no large mirror, cracked tiles).
The staff were fantastic, from reception, to the bar, to the kitchen, to the restaurant. They really are the hotels best asset. Friendly, helpful and enthusiastic.
We booked our evening meal in the hotel when we booked the room. The food was great and fantastic value. One warning - if you have the antipasti starter you will not manage a main course and desert too. We will definitely be back.

Stayed in hotel du vin Harrogate. We booked a junior suite. No dressing gowns or slippers and only 1 set of towels in the room and no phone to contact reception. No milk for tea or coffee in the morning. Then we get to dinner and two attempts at a chateaubriand and it is still inedible! Rubbish hotel.

Worst afternoon tea we have ever had!!

You wouldn’t think it would be that hard to get an afternoon tea so wrong, but Hotel du vin in Wimbledon has completely achieved this! For 49.95 p/person you really would expect more. It did include a glass of Lanson, but the food was shockingly bad! The sandwiches were made with smooshed dry leathery bread, barely any filling - you could barely tell what the fillings even were. The cakes were hard, tasteless and too sweet - very artificial tasting.
You get only one small pot of tea with it, with no offers of a refill.
The service was also shocking, the staff plonked everything on the table and then disappeared for the entire rest of the time we were there.
Just a disappointing and shocking waste of £49.99!! The staff then include a 12.5% tip!!! And then we’re frosty and rude when we asked to have it taken off the bill.
Avoid this place at all costs!!!

The excellent service we received and a generous upgrade on the room made our stay very special.
