Exceptional from the moment I arrived.
A truly special stay at The Beaumont.
From the moment I arrived at the front door, the staff were helpful, warm and genuinely welcoming. I was shown around my room and talked through how everything worked, which was such a lovely touch. I did immediately forget how to use the heating and air con controls, but one quick call to reception and they changed the settings remotely for me without any fuss.
The room itself was beautiful. The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable, and I was lucky enough to have an amazing terrace, which felt like such a treat in London. It had clearly been designed with the British weather in mind too, with lighting, heating, comfortable chairs and a retractable awning, so I could actually enjoy the outside space properly.
The whole hotel is stunning. It has that rare feeling of somewhere that could have been there for hundreds of years and has simply been impeccably maintained. The details are gorgeous, from the black and white photographs in the lift to the beautiful powder room downstairs. Everything feels considered without feeling showy.
What really stood out, though, was the guest experience. Nothing felt like too much trouble. I especially loved having steamed milk brought to my room for my morning coffee, and the little details made it feel like a real home away from home: a welcome note, a bottle of non-alcoholic fizz in the room, branded chocolate and macarons. As someone with a sweet tooth, that was very well received.
Breakfast in Rosi was sublime. The room itself is beautiful, with a lovely story behind the revamp, and the balance of light, detail and architecture makes it feel as though it has always been there. The staff were attentive and the food was excellent. They even managed to make porridge feel like a treat. Between the buffet and the menu, it felt as though every preference had been thought about.
On my last day, I was able to ask for a coffee to go before reluctantly leaving what really had become my London home from home.
The location is also superb. Selfridges is on the doorstep, and Leicester Square is a lovely walk away down Oxford Street and Bond Street. If you are planning a shopping trip, I honestly cannot think of a better base.
The Beaumont gets the details right. Every person I came across seemed to genuinely care about the guest experience, and it shows in everything from the service to the room touches - even down to a cable tidy that I may have accidentally taken home with me.
I cannot wait for my next visit.
