The items i ordered arrived quickly and my wife absolutely loves her Oberon pants

I've ordered from Holy clothing three times now, and I'm happy with my dresses and skirts. I always get compliments when I wear them out, too. The material feels like natural linens, not the cheap fast fashion polyester I've received from other shops. Most of their items are made to order and hand dyed. Only once have I had a concern about the colour of an item not being as expected, and customer service was really helpful with arranging a replacement.

Have been a customer for about 15 years now, and it is not the company it used to be. Once it was a great company that did a wide selection renaissance, gothic and boho clothing for an inclusive size range of women.

Their recent emails asking for people to review them in return for entry into a prize draw which has 3 prizes totalling $600 seems to be a way for them to bolster their good rating at the expense of honest reviews. Due to this, i have decided to post my review, which is honest, but does cover years of being a customer with them, not just a single purchase.

Most of their styles now are for special events, nothing that could be worn every day, which is extremely disappointing. Lot of their clothes now has chemise that are worn underneath which is okay for fancy dress and fairs etc, but not for every day wear.

Their clothes sizes are hit an miss. In one style the size fits perfectly, the same size in a different style - not going to work.

Everything is made to order, unless they are doing a special drop/clearance, so it takes around 8 weeks to get anything. You have no idea where they are at in the process of making your clothing, during that 8 week wait, and if you need to cancel during that time, they will only provide store credit as they are already "making it" even though that have not notified you were they are at in their process.

All clothing is apparently hand dyed in small batches, so no two items even if the same colourway are guaranteed to be identical, so colour mismatch can be an issue. Customer service do not seem to be bothered about colour consistency issues. The colours also run every time they are washed. If you want the colour to remain stable, you end up paying to have the items dry cleaned instead of doing it yourself.

Have seem issues with seams coming apart, sometimes on a brand new dress before you even try it on.

They make everything in India and ship from there, but if you need to return, it goes to the USA incurring high postage fees.

I also suspect them of mail fraud. On one delivery a few years ago, the items got held up in customs. 2 dresses i had paid about $180 for, the customs team wanted to know how much i had paid, as the export waiver said the cost of the items was about £30. I contacted customer service, after some back and forth, i got a refund as i refused to pay for their admin error, and customs destroyed the dresses as holyclothing didn't pay to have them returned to them either.

Their clothing is also extremely expensive. A single dress can cost $120 to be made for you in a particular colour and size. Give it a month or two, and all of a sudden there is a special drop that allows you to have the same item and colour at half the price.

Having shared all the negatives, i do have to say that some of their older and retired styles were absolutely fantastic to wear, you felt great in them and you were expressing who you were. I have not found another company that offers that same style range. The colour choice is usually good, going from pastels to the darker more gothic colours. But not all styles are available in all colours, all of the time.

My wishes for Holy clothing:
1) Improve customer updates on orders - tell us when you start making something.
2) Improve quality in dying and in making the clothes.
3) As everything is made to order, why can you not keep your older styles that people loved and still want?
4) Better pricing, $120 for a dress is a lot of money to spend, In the UK i can get a dress for $50 less than that which is still made to order.

Ultimately, they have gone from a trusted and loved clothing company to one that i a reluctant to buy from.

I love the dresses of holy clothing. They make me feel special.

I'm in Australia so buying from overseas is a risk. Never had an issue with this company though. Wait time is reasonable,sizing accurate,colour range beautiful and everything I have bought same as photos. Quality cotton and stitching also excellent. Great that it is also an ethical business and workers are paid properly.

Ich hab schon zwei Mal bei Holy Clothing bestellt und bin jedes Mal begeistert. Ich liebe die Kleider und Röcke und trage sie oft auch im Alltag. Der einzige Nachteil ist, dass sie, auch noch nach vielen Wäschen, in der Maschine sehr stark abfärben! Ich hab mir dadurch schon einige andere Kleidungsstücke verfärbt.

I love this clothing brand, the clothes are fun, great quality, innovative. Perfect for wearing to a Ren Faire or event. Comfortable and versatile. There are multiple colors and designs to choose from, including some geared toward the masculine. The internet community that evolved around wearing these clothes is supportive and friendly, as well.

I get compliments everytime I wear their clothes. I can't wait to order another viking overdress.

When I worked in an office, I wore a lot of blouses from HC and they were great - comfortable, durable, and appropriate while still being fun and different - especially for the prices at the time.

Now I mostly wear HC pieces when I'm reaching for more fantasy. I love the colors, the style, and the embroidery. Generally the fabric is long-lasting and more "clothing" than costume, though I've had a few grommets loosen up after only a few wearings, which is disappointing as the prices have climbed a lot. Still, it's a good value for fun, durable, flexible pieces!

I love HolyClothing! I have been buying beautiful clothes from them for years!

Pros: Excellent quality garments! I have several pieces that I've gotten over the past 9 years or so and they've all held up wonderfully! I have several dresses that I like to wear on a regular basis and a few special ones for renaissance fairs. They ALL have POCKETS! A must for any woman, especially moms. The prices may seem high, but they are worth it.
Con: My only complaint is the return timeline. I wish you had 20-30 days rather than the 14 days from the time of delivery. I received the wrong dress in one of my orders and because of it being right before the winter holidays, shipping stores were closed the majority of my return timeframe, so I couldn't return it in time. I now have a dress that is the wrong style, too big, and different color that I will never wear.

I’ve loved every item I’ve purchased from Holy Clothing. I’ve been slowly replacing my other clothes with this brand. I wear them every day, to work, the store… everywhere. I love the vibrant colors and the beautiful designs.

I’ve ordered once from Holy Clothing so I could have a wardrobe ready for Faire season in Southern California. Faire season here is hot and sweaty. I picked up an overdress, a cape, and a dress so I could be prepared to have a variety of style. I like that the dresses could be styled to anything from Disney princess inspired, being in your villain era, or even cottagecore. I love the variety of colors. I’m very particular of certain shades of colors, HC had a variety to choose from. The quality is decent and easy to machine wash after a day at Faire. Shipping does take some time, so definitely order early on to ensure that your fair clothes come in on time!

I love looking thru the beautiful dresses and tos! I’ve love Holy Vlothing since I first saw it more than 20yrs ago. Great products! I wish they still cost the same as all those years ago.

Every piece I have gotten from here has been gorgeous 😍. I always get compliments and many pieces can be worn for regular wear. The handstiching is amazing. Customer Service has always been wonderful. Returns or exchanges have been made easily as needed. They are pricey but soooo worth it!

I’ve known about Holy clothing for many years, but became a repeat customer starting last spring. These are treasures. How special is it to order a custom made, hand dyed dream to adorn yourself in? From Ren Faires, Weddings, Comic Cons, Halloween or “Every day wear because I feel beautiful.” There’s something for everyone! When my order arrives, I love going through each piece, admiring the embroidery and the delicate details, created by loving, careful artisan hands. I haven’t had to return anything as the items were great as far as size and fit. There have been some delays, but for ordering a custom made item, it wasnt too bad. I asked some questions to customer service and I was responded to- a little delay as they are overseas. Again, expected. It’s a joy to receive something from Holy Clothing. If you are a bride ordering gowns for yourself and your maids, allow some advance time in case of delays or size exchanges. The costs are reasonable, but some can be a higher price and free shipping is for orders over $200. The more ornamental gowns are just exquisite and there are masculine pieces to adorn your favorite partner with- or splurge to feed your inner warrior. I highly recommend Holy Clothing hands down for any Kingdom’s magic.

I am disabled and 62 year old . Holy clothing has given me the confidence to go out round festivals knowing my clithes look so stunning makes me feel good about myself . The clothes are not only beautiful to look at but great value and extremely well made . Thank you for giving me me back

I've been a customer of Holy Clothes for several years now. Every dress i have order has been beautiful and high quality.

I purchased my renaissance dress approximately a year ago. It fit wonderfully and I received so many compliments when wearing it in February 2025. I wore it to another event in June 2025 and the event photographer made me look like a gem 💎 All of my pieces are stitched beautifully, and I will be expanding my renaissance wardrobe this year to include warmer weather events. I choose a dark green, and purchased a hooded cape with it. You can’t go wrong with any piece you buy. Have fun and style up.

I absolutely love my dresses I have got from Holy Clothing. I am always skeptical about buying online as a large breasted woman 42 O cup and I fit well and comfortable in a 2xl short.
