Don't use HelloTech

Don't use HelloTech. They set up appointments but a technician isnt actually assigned to do the work. This means when its time for the appointment, no one shows up. They want you to keep rescheduling hoping the local tech will take the job....its a joke

Services not rendered

Scheduled a TV mounting service through Walmart. The technician never showed up and there was no communication at all — no call, no text, nothing.

When I contacted the company, I was told a refund would take 4–6 weeks, which is completely unreasonable for a service that was never rendered.

Walmart customer service agreed this was unacceptable and processed my refund immediately.

I would not recommend this service due to the no-show, lack of communication, and poor accountability.

Awful company. Please don't repeat my mistake

Next time I'm coming to Trustpilot. If I had seen a 1.3 rating I never would have booked. Wasted 4 hrs of my life waiting. When you try to cancel you get a drop down that doesn't include tech didn't show. They didn't even email me. I had to check after window closed. What a joke. Hope people come here and see this.

Frustratingly hard to deal with

Dealing with this company has been one of the most frustrating experiences I've had in the last couple of years.

We bought a TV and mounting was supposed to be included from Walmart. I set the appointment got a confirmation text and I thought all was good to go.

The day before my appointment I clicked the link in the text to make sure everything was still good and there was a notification that the technician was not available. Other than being a little annoyed that I never got a text or an email I didn't think much of it because it was snowing really bad which is why I checked to see if the technician would be coming anyway. So I rescheduled for the next Saturday.

Friday before my appointment I checked to make sure everything was still good to go because I was a little nervous about not getting a notification of the first cancellation. Sure enough there's a notification that the technician cannot make it to the appointment. This time I decide to write to chat and ask them when they will have somebody out to put this TV up. Shortly after I get an email stating that somebody would be coming out between 12:00 and 5:00. Not sure if that meant somebody was coming out to my house that day or not I wrote chat again and they confirmed that somebody was coming to my house.

At 12:30 I checked the appointment again and it says a technician was unavailable. I wrote to chat again with the screenshot and asked them to please let me know when somebody would be coming out for sure because I had just missed that day's work and I can't take a day off without giving a couple of days warning. They tried to gaslight me by saying that I was the one canceling the appointments and rescheduling them.

Chat also claims there isn't a technician within a hundred miles of my house. That statement is a little crazy being as the twin cities (St. Paul & Minneapolis) are both far less than a hundred miles from my house.

So now I'm stuck waiting for them to get in touch with me to let me know when somebody can come to my house to put this TV up. I have zero reason to believe that they will actually get in touch with me being as they canceled appointments and didn't even notify me.

The people that write you in chat are friendly enough but I don't feel that they understand the situation at all. And they will absolutely try to gaslight you so they can deflect or shift any kind of blame.

HelloTech is horrible

HelloTech is horrible! Absolutely horrific communication, no way of getting in touch with anyone, they can't get the service address correct. A complete nightmare! Do NOT ever use HelloTech for service.

HelloTech sent an uneducated technician…

HelloTech sent an uneducated technician to install my video doorbell and he stayed for hours before he left and the video doorbell was not installed. Last week I worked with a professional contractor who correctly installed the video doorbell and it has been working since then. I have requested a refund of $198.

I was scheduled for a security system installation on November 22nd 2025 at 10am. I got a email telling me the technician was on his way, at 1005 I received another email indicating the work was completed and for me to rate the technician. I checked my existing camera and didn't see anyone in my driveway.

I called and spoke with a Hellotech representative and she told me that she would get to the bottom of the situation and find out what happened to the technician. I received another call and she was unable to get in contact with him. She told me that she is escalating it to upper management, and I would not be charged because he was a no show, and they can reschedule me for Wednesday November 26th 2025 and it would be compensated. I agreed and rescheduled it.

I checked my account today and noticed they still charged me for the service. I promptly called and spoke to another representative, and I was told that the person i spoke to last Wednesday didn't mean that the reschedule service was going to be compensated. I asked him to go back and listen to there own recording and listen to what she said. He told me that they (the manager) has already listen to the recording and that is not what the respective meant. I told him how in the hell can you tell me what she meant.

I told him I'll send them a copy of the recording because apparently they are not listen to the correct recording. When I told him I recorded all of my phone conversations and will be more that happy to provide them with a copy. I was put on hold and when he finally came back he said that they listen to it again, and they will be refunding me my money in 3 to 5 days, and he wanted to apologize for the misunderstanding...

It's a scam that uses unethical practices!!!

I can't imagine this company is gonna last long given their unethical practices. The company is a complete SCAM. I signed up at $20 a month because they mentioned you can cancel it anytime. But they do not disclose to you - and this is the unethical practice - is that once you sign up you can cancel it anytime but they're gonna continue to charge you for 12 months straight. It just won't renew it at the end of 12 months. All they've done is take money from me. I have never gotten anything for that money. I tried to cancel, and I explained UDAAP laws and how this would be a violation, and they continue to charge me. I had to call my credit card and have them block the merchant. And I'm considering looking into a class action lawsuit against them. DO NOT USE THEM!

Never showed up

Never showed up, no calls, no update from HT CS after escalating. Charged the card up front, I did get a manager on the line and they canceled the authorization, and when they attempted to charge the card again it was denied because I didn't trust I would get the scheduled service, they went ahead and scheduled the cable installation anyway, yep, you guessed it, he didn't show up, and I am not out my money. Use someone else, I am looking into a reputable Audio/Video company to run RG6 and CAT6e cable, stay away from this place, run for the hills or just accept what you get.

Looking into opening a BBB case as they are taking money and service is not being performed, also looking into Consumer Protection Rights, too many reviews saying the same thing.

I am beyond disappointed.

I am beyond disappointed with the service I received. The technician was supposed to arrive at 12:00 pm today, but by 12:45 pm, I hadn’t even gotten an alert that they were on their way. I tried reaching out via the online chat, but it was so busy I waited about 10 minutes just to get through. Out of desperation, I texted the number listed on the website—never got a response.

When I finally connected with a representative on live chat, I was told the technician had CANCELLED, and no one bothered to email or call me about this change! If I hadn’t reached out myself, I would have been waiting all day for nothing. The rep said there might be a technician between 12 and 8 pm, and extended our availability window until 8 pm tonight. (high priority) I had to freeze my pans all day just to wait for someone.

At 4 pm, I got an email saying someone would come at 8 pm. Guess what? 8 pm came and went, and still NO TECHNICIAN. When I called again, I was told (surprise!) the technician had cancelled AGAIN, and once more, nobody notified us.

This is hands down the most unprofessional, unreliable, and frustrating experience I’ve ever had with any service provider. The customer service is nauseating, zero communication, zero accountability, and a complete waste of my entire day. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere! These people have no idea what the word "communication" means. Never again!

I would give it a 0 but not on the…

I would give it a 0 but not on the scale. They scheduled a service time window with tech me but they did not show. The service rep said they have no policy in their company that says if they did not find a service tech for your scheduled appointment. And that you can only wait at the end of your scheduled window to find that they are not going to show. In my case I called at the end of 4 hour window and was informed they never sent a technician. Very bad service.

No show 4 times and no one answers the phone

First appointment they cancelled 3 hours before arrival time. Second appointment they never showed up for.
Third appointment they never showed up for.
Waiting to see if they show up for 4 th appointment.
I've called 6 times and no one has answered the phone or called me back when i left a massage.

I scheduled an appointment online

I scheduled an appointment online, and the technicians assigned to my order were changed twice. Then, at 9:23 PM, I was told I needed to change my appointment time. This is unacceptable, especially since I am dealing with theft and vandalism to my vehicle and was depending on this service.

I paid over $100 and made no changes to my appointment, yet the lack of consistency and communication left me without the service I needed. This experience has been extremely frustrating, and I will be reporting it to Xfinity and seeking a private contractor instead.

AWFUL

AWFUL! DO NOT USE! there is no guarantee that a tech will ever attend to your scheduled service. Especially for cove installations. It is incredibly frustrating to simply get a straight answer from their customer support. They also will charge the installation fee and mark your job complete without ever dispatching a technician. I am in the process of getting a refund which has been proven to be difficult.
