We used them and as so many others have said, the upfront service appears professional, but from the minute you pay your money they are appalling to deal with> The degree of claiming things have been done or will be upscaled, lack of responsiveness, blaming others within their own company and then NO contact whatsoever when they failed is unlike anything I have ever experienced. Please listen to me and so many others and avoid this company.

Do not use this company ,such lier ,they charge me twice but I wait over 5 years already still not solve out ,I called them asked refund ,they said summint the new applytion ,I do not know how to say this ,If you can not do this job just tell me early ,do not cheat and delay .I share my experence just want to let other people konw ,do not get cheat .

OMG What an awful deceitful company. A girl just repeats I’m sorry then goes onto say Alex who is doing your case is in meetings all day. Sorry sorry but I will pass the message on. It’s so frustrating as I have now been chasing information for 3 years. They sell the idea of saving you money but I’m now down £3k as I was duped into paying another fee to make sure I didn’t loose my first case

Took my money and didn't deliver - AVOID

Seems to be a common theme running here. Paid £2400 over two years ago on a promised strong chance of success to reduce business rates. Poor customer relations throughout the process and over two years of waiting for nothing. Wish I had read the reviews back then.

In fairness, they seemed to know there stuff when they visited and liberated their fee over two years ago. But from then on in the rot set in. Poor communication, followed by the classic "lost all the notes" before trying to pass us on to an "associated company". Either inept or just plain dishonest. Avoid.

I engaged with this company over 3 years ago, parting with £1800. After another year they approached me saying that they needed another £1800 for the following years and if I didn't pay it then I could loose my initial relief when it goes to the council. They never answer any emails and the receptionist answers the phone but for some reason can never get through to anyone. I've had one call back in the past year and he sounded very knowledgeable and I was sucked into believing he knew what was going on. I had to send plans as they were confident my rate would go down dramatically.
I need to look at trust pilot when engaging in this sort of thing because its so disappointing when you read you've simply been scammed.

Took £1780 from our company, and in returned gave nothing, just replying with crap.

No Stars Its A con 4 and Half years IN ?? NOTHING and i am £1560.00 down and MY money is now in the hands of Con Artists, 8 phone calls last week alone and not ONE reply i am now seeking legal advice watch this space

To start with , didn’t even want to add a star . This company is totally a rip off , giving false information, to get you to release just under £2000 , saying your chances are over 90 percent. 2 years of call and chasing them , to be told your claim refused . I could understand if only 50/50 . But to be told one of the highest cases I would receive over £7000 . Should have done my research 🧐. Anyone else please don’t waste your money.

Paid out pver £14000 to be left with nothing but stress and absolutely no results. 3 years spent chasing for updates/ threatened to not get results for the first period if we didnt sign up for the next one. Appauling customer service, rarely spoke to the same person and no-one ever seemed to know what was going on with our account. Total scam.

SCAM SCAM SCAM, said they would only proceed if it was a guarantee to save money, once paid their invoice you don't hear back from them. 7 months later and still nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't get scammed, save your money. Hampton Lovett knew we'd had a rate review before taking our money. They claimed our rates were higher than others in the area, and getting a successful review was a formality. Only to find out the VO don't allow two reviews in the same rateable period. We've not heard from HL since.

Disgraceful company, they come over all professional but in my view and my experience are an absolute scam and a costly one at that! Please do not be fooled by this enterprise as they have no intention of getting you back Business Rates review and potential recompense. No chance!!!

I am deeply disappointed with the "services" provided by Hampton Lovett Consultant Surveyors Ltd. Despite their initial promises to reduce our rates, we find ourselves no further forward after two years. The lack of progress is frustrating, but what is even more concerning is the complete lack of communication. My emails have gone unanswered, leaving us in the dark about the status of our case.

This experience has been highly unsatisfactory, and I would strongly advise against using their services. Their failure to deliver on their promises and their poor customer service are unacceptable. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere for a more reliable and responsive consultancy.

Unfortunately you cannot give 0 stars! Absolute con artists, they come and promise you a huge reduction in the rates, take your money and then do not inform you of progress, you chase and get nowhere. Then nearly 2 years later, you receive an email to say "Whilst I appreciate this is not the outcome you were hoping for". Save your money and your time and stay clear!!

Same as all the other reviews - Hampton-Lovett promise the world, promise to reduce rates, promise it will be backdated & you'll get a refund, demand you pay up front, then they go quiet & do nothing. Total bunch of crooks, do not touch them & do not believe the lies they tell you.

What mugs we all are…same story as every other review below. Here’s my response to their last email, copying the 6 individuals involved over a 12 month period from HL, Corporate Commercial Surveyors (have the same Director, according to Companies Hse) and various others. Needless to say there was no answer from anyone…

This is absolutely outrageous
You charged over £1500 on the basis of an inspection and high confidence that rates can be reduced (a prospect that you pitched to us) and now having missed the deadline you send us a boiler plate explanation as to why no challenge can be made - based largely on information that you had before pitching the prospect to us in the first place. An explanation that you only bothered to send us after being repeatedly chased.

I will be investigating what legal action is available to us for misselling a service, unprofessional and likely unethical behaviour.
