It appears that they have trained their claims handlers to reject claims irrespective of the evidence and supporting documents submitted. They do not seem to review the insurance policy booklet issued under the contract before assessing a claim. The process feels heavily weighted in favour of the merchant, raising serious concerns about the fairness and integrity of their claims handling practices.

They never respond to phone calls or emails, long delays

Dealing with Global Excel Management has been deeply frustrating. It took them an astonishing one full year to review my file, only to inform me that I was not eligible. Due to a complete lack of internal department coordination, the burden fell entirely on me to call their customer service center every two weeks just to get basic status updates from poorly trained agents.When I tried to escalate these bottlenecks, the supervisor was dismissive and entirely unprofessional. Furthermore, even though I had already provided every piece of information needed and submitted all available documentation, their representatives repeatedly demanded that I contact my service provider directly to handle data retrieval. They persisted with this even after being told it is outside standard privacy protocols for a client to act as an intermediary. The entire experience felt intentionally structured to make securing a payout as difficult as possible.

Repeatedly demanding the same information that has already been submitted is both incompetent and disrespectful. The fact that it is nearly impossible to speak with anyone capable of resolving the issue only makes the situation worse. The “premium” Visa card benefit is nothing more than an empty promise and has proven to be completely useless. After this frustrating experience, I have no reason to keep the card and am cancelling it.

honestly what a scam such a terrible company to work with. they cancelled my claim and never told me, when i called them and asked to talk to the supervisor she told me there was a mistake and she was not sure why it got cancelled. So they made it active again and said i have to wait 10 days, its been 20 days still no reply, now 2 months later still nothing. Don't understand why TD Visa would use a company that has such a terrible reputation as that reflects on TD Visa

What seemed like a simple insurance claim turned into a 3-month back-and-forth nightmare. They kept rejecting my claim and asking me for the same documents or for irrelevant ones. They finally processed my insurance claim after I started complaining profusely via email and threatened legal action.

If this company is not the Poster Child for 'Incompetence', they should be, even after they were told the Cancelation Claim had been covered by another Insurance Company, they were still asking for paperwork, which had already been submitted, so that they would be able to process the claim, this literally went on for months. I have cancelled my TD Aeroplan Credit Card because of this experience

Pas de paiement depuis six mois. On nous dit que le dossier est complet et on reçoit un message que sur un des reçus de traitement il manque un détails.

TD Visa car insurance claim took three months a numerous phone calls, same answer all the time, claim under review will have answer in 5 to 10 days. Sent claim in on April 14 with all supporting documents. Claim was only accepted after a visit to my TD bank and inputting a complaint through them.

Global excel is the worst company to deal with its more than 6 months it has not resolved.

It was a very simple claim for a missed nights prepaid AirBnB due to a flight delay. The airline paid out the extra overnight stay etc. but they don't compensate for consequential delays. GlobalExcel goes out of their way to make the claim difficult asking for a long stream of supporting documents when anyone can see it's really simple. I won't be using them or Manulife again. Neither should you! They're a scam!!

Like any insurance company, their job is to do everything possible to deny your claim.
I had a bike accident in Vietnam and broke my face in 8 places. I also sustained a concussion and a soft tissue injury to my shoulder which made my arm useless. I couldn't move it at ALL.

I came home earlier than expected so had to buy a new airline ticket for myself and my traveling companion, without whom I would not have been able to travel.
I did have the xrays and ctscans from vietnam, but that wasn't enough for them.

They questioned my need to come home early!!
After denying my claim, I spoke to my surgeon, who wrote a letter.
They made me jump through hoops and even then, only paid out a small fraction of what it cost me to come home, the meds I had to pay for in Vietnam and the hospital costs in Vietnam.

Global Excel Management Enc. are stealing from clients. Backing down on legal coverages and refusing to refund or cancel policy. They do not deserve any star. No body should buy coverage under Manulife with them.

Globale Excel has staff which is incompetent to understand the legal provisions and outrightly rejecting claims this creats a mistrust between the customer and the company. If you want the disreputation to decrease find such rejection claims and see who is the offender.

I will never, never for the life of me consider a TD card or TD Bank service in my life again. Global Excel is certainly the worse company that exists and will do everything to deny your claim even though you have all the documentation. They will kill your willpower by dragging the claims and asking more and more documents. Can't wait for this to finish and cancel all my TD services!

They are the worst! Run!

Difficulty getting approved over the phone when I can barely talk. Way too complicated. Way too many forms. Had to pay the hospital out of pocket. Ended up abandoning my claim. Manulife should get a different administrator

I’ve been reaching out to this company for three weeks to no avail to deal with a trip interruption insurance claim apparently they don’t care about their reviews or their clients

I am shocked with the denied claim I took travel insurance from Dec 18, 2025, to Jan 8, 2026. I left Canada Dec 17 at night. I was admitted to the hospital on January 1, 2026. My policy was active bu they declined stating my policy was not active on the day of departure. I filed for review. This is so unfair. Even you can take travel insurance after landing not covered for 72 hours. This is fraud.
