After admiring Allan's work from afar via Instagram and his website, my wife and I commissioned a fairly big L-shaped desk for the study/home office in our new home. We have had custom furniture made by three craftsmen in Albany but Allan's service was by far the most interactive and dynamic with his amazing craftsmanship matched by excellent customer service. I would wholeheartedly recommend Frenchman Bay Woodworks to anyone looking to get some new furniture.

I've been following Allan and admiring his work for a few years now and when he announced that he would be finishing up making his floating tables, I thought, I better get one made before it's too late. WOW! We found Frenchman Bay Woodwork on instagram and thought this would be perfect for our new home. We contacted Allan, had a chat then committed a deposit to get in the queue. When the time was right, we took a weekend trip down to Albany to meet Allan and select a design and timber.
Last Thursday we moved into our beautiful new home and on Monday Allan arrived with our beautiful solid oak floating table. It weighs a ton and represents a statement of craftsmanship and quality. Allan is a delightful person to work with. He is trustworthy and delivered exactly on his promise. We would highly recommend him and his work.

Allan's an artist, his work is exquisite and tomorrows antiques. If you want something special, he's your man. We can't stop looking at our beautiful table, buffet and side units.

Allan Gledson is a genuinely fine wood furniture craftsman. I communicated with him via email and telephone to collaborate and conceptualise a dining table that needed to seat ten people. The dining chairs already existed so the table needed to fit the chairs comfortably, thus making the span of the table very long. Without compromising aesthetics, Allan was able to come up with a design that is truly beautiful.
Allan's skill and knowledge of fine wood furniture has been unsurpassed and we are now the proud owners of a very beautiful hand crafted dining table made out of American Walnut. He provided excellent advice to refine the design and select the wood, so that it all fits perfectly in our new home. After a period of careful collaboration with Allan over design, dimensions and finish, complete with 3D computer projections, we are now the proud custodians of a truly lovely blackbutt media cabinet. Only ‘custodians’ because this marvellous artwork will outlast us and will become a legacy piece for our children and grandchildren to fight over. It exudes a timeless elegance and intrinsic quality; our smile muscles ache.

What a pleasure it was working with Allan who designed the most beautiful dining table for our new home. Allan delivered our 8-seater floating dining table and benches on Christmas Eve, and our family could not have asked for a better Christmas present. The table has quickly become the heart of our home - a craft station one minute, a boardgame hub the next, soon cleared away for a family meal, and then followed up by late night hot chocolate. So much conversation and laughter has already been shared seated around what can truly be described as a piece of art. Allan's work is flawless; it is beautiful and detailed, with elegant, clean lines highlighting the natural wood grain - all whilst remaining entirely functional. Allan, himself, was a pleasure to deal with. He is an excellent communicator and very knowledgeable in his craft. He made the entire process from order to delivery stress-free and enjoyable. We definitely hope to order a few more pieces from Allan in the coming years, but for now we're loving every minute of our table and benches which I have no doubt we'll be enjoying for a lifetime.

The chessboard that I required is custom made and sizing to suit my oversized chess pieces.

Despite being fully committed for the year, Allan was able to built my chessboard in time for Christmas.

Grateful for the attention to details, timing of delivery, I cannot be happier as it exceeds my expectation. The joinery and the combination of different types of wood used are masterfully contained within this chessboard. I look forward to commission more pieces from Allan.
