No Smartphone
Suddenly after several years of use Evergreen have decided to use a double system of authentication which requires the user to have a "smartphone" to which some sort of access code is sent.
Unfortunately many older people, myself included do not possess a "smartphone" only a "dimphone"
Originally we had to take our tablet into "Sandra at the Doctors" and she installed the app for us using codes only the doctor has.
How are we expected to keep using this service if we have no way of authenticating our log on.

Useless
Useless. Tried to book routine appointment and gave large windows of availability but then got given appointment way outside of these times. Could understand if I wanted immediate appointment - I didn't. Then no way to cancel appointment via app. It is a waste of time.

What a hassle
I installed this app as my GP recommends it’s how I contact them, but I just get bombarded with notifications and irrelevant questionnaires. If this was just a GP patient interface that’s fine but everything else was a hassle and irritating! I requested all my personal data and account be deleted. This isn’t about patient care, as none of my medical history before my current GP is on there anyway. it’s a business making money and hassling people.

Hi Hannah, we are sorry you have been frustrated by our app not being just a means of contacting your GP, but it is first and foremost a health and wellbeing app with access to your GP Practice being part of it. In terms of your medical history, what the app shows is what your GP Practice have allowed access to. The app doesn't determine what you can see. If you needed a full history download/print off you would need to place that request with your GP practice.

I have hated being forced to use this…
I have hated being forced to use this ap. Every time I have attempted to log in there has been an issue, the latest is I couldn’t select, from a drop down menu, my relationship with my daughter as the drop down menu would not open so I was unable to move to the next screen and request an appointment. I was then stuck in a queue as I had to call the GP and now I have to go in just to get the ap looked at. I also abject to the constant notifications which still seem to come up despite me selecting to not see them. I do not think the interface is at all straightforward, it is overly complex and my whole experience has been frustrating. I’m trying to find a GP who doesn’t use this.

Went online to order my medications as…
Went online to order my medications as I have been doing for the past 2 or 3 years, only to find that Evergreen now INSISTS on a mobile phone number for 2 step verification, and that my account can not be accessed again, till I have input a valid phone number.
I was given NO warning this would happen.
It has happened right at the point where I need my meds.
It is life endangering for people who need there meds and do not have an appropriate mobile device.
Only an auto-reply from evergreen. They haven't replied back yet over such an important issue.
At the end of this year a number of 3G networks will be closed down and all 3G users will have to get a compatible 4G+ phone and sim card. The final date for 3G redundancy is 2033, but providers are at liberty to choose when they close the services down and GIFF GAFF, O2 and other companies are acting earlier.
Evergreen life have offered no 2nd option for 2 step verification.
People with no mobile cannot access their accounts and meds.
I am housebound most of the time so I cannot "pop down" to my doctors for prescriptions.
I will be looking for another provider for the service and also will be seeking legal advice over taking Evergreen life to court for life endangering policies, and discrimination against disabled users.
I will also contact my MP to have the general poor access of UK health services investigated further.
You don't offer such a "personalised service" for your users after all, do you Stephen Critchlow !

The Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) additional layer of security has been introduced as part of new national security standards and NHS requirements. We're sorry about any inconvenience this causes users, but security is of paramount importance to us. When you contacted us at hello@evergreen-life.co.uk you did indeed get an acknowledgement email but shortly after you had a full response from my colleague including a suggestion about how to order your prescriptions via another on-line route which he sent again a few hours later as there hadn't been a response from you and he was concerned about you being able to order your medication.
We hope that you have now been able to do that.

Appointment problems.
I had problems getting an appointment with a Dr for my aggressive ear infection. Evergreen made it happen for the appointment, but unfortunately not with a doctor (a paramedic).

This app worked less than perfectly, BUT
This app worked less than perfectly, but now is causing frustration.
Having to use biometrics twice to login, then still have the login fail.
Tried to use password, which tbh I can't remember, only to find no reset password link.
Tried to login via NHS login. NHS app recognised me, but still failed to log me in!
I give two stars for having some results at first, but now, cannot log in at all.
Also it cannot link to my payment methods and uses some oddball method of charging my registered payment methods. I get an email asking me to pay using a link, then it simply charges my credit card anyhow.
App seems amateurish and buggy.
Update Apr '26: spoke to evergreen directly and found some functionality that I wasn't aware of. There are still a few functional bugs here and there. Sometimes the repeat prescription function has refused me stating that I have no active subscriptions. I'll bump it to a four as problems arise but they are more rare

Useless app
This is definitely a useless app to have on my phone. I really don't understand why my GP changed from using the wonderful Dr IQ to this useless thing. I can't use it for anything like booking any appointments, requesting prescriptions or anything that is useful for my needs. Now I have to call the GP to make an appointment or request for my repeat prescriptions. My GP surgery should not be advertising for patients to use this app. Bring back Dr IQ any day!

App stopped working using NHS
It worked well for a few weeks then it stopped updating my records. I am unable to see test results or order medication. I have been told to contact my doctors as the link has become broken. My surgery is not always helpful and I could be in for a long wait. The previous system was much more reliable.
I have now discovered that if you log into Evergreen via the NHS it doesn't work. However if you log in using the Evergreen password it does.

When I downloaded the app
When I downloaded the app, the office was obviously closed and i didn't realise that only when the office was open and taking messages, that the app would give me the choice to make an appointment. Through trial and error i discovered this and then everything worked perfectly. The responses and reminders about my appointment were great - thank you

Great customer service
I’ve been using this app for years now and it makes ordering repeat prescriptions so easy. I’ve also recently had reason to contact them regarding a query I had, and they responded really quickly and resolved the problem for me straight away. Would recommend.

This application has not passed E2E testing and should not have been released for public use.

No access at point of care
Been trying to register onto this app since January 2025. No luck. Won't work. GP says I should keep trying otherwise no access to their services. Had a near heart attack 3 months ago and notes have been sent GP for further assessment but no, can only attend to GP only if this stupid app worked. Calling at 8am has been a fuss. Never any luck

Firstly..no issue with the app..works fine..very good..however…when I emailed with a query…I was addressed by my surname! So for example..say my surname was Smith…it read…’Hi Smith’. how rude!! I dont care if it is auto generated,,.humans programme computers..fix it! I wont be contacting you again!

Terrible app
I had to change from the excellent app dr.iq, which worked incredibly well in contacting the King's Road Medical Centre to evergreen, which is the worst app I have ever come across. I shall never use it again, I shall use the NHS app instead.
