El Monte RV - San Francisco Recenzje 

Great RV, modern and pretty clean on pick up.

Our tour op booked top package with everything included and all the additional insurances which gave us piece of mind.

Kitchen kit was useful and had most things you need although I think it lacked a chopping/bread board (end up cutting up veg on plates, not the easiest) and a bowl for the sink would have been useful too.

Bedding kits were ok, not a lover of using a sheet and a blanket (last company we used provided a sleeping bag/ duvet which was far easier. But everything was clean and laundered.

Unfortunately we got to our first campsite to find we had no waste pipe included so had to go source one of those.

We had booked drop and go which wasnt quite as it sounds but wasnt too bad but we still got asked to clear all the bedding and towels out and put them into a laundry trolley.

Overall not a bad experience, and a decent enough RV

Very smooth checkin and checkout process. Maya was very helpful, friendly and covered all of the details on using the RV. The RV was great was perfect for our needs.

Everything was great—the quality of the RV, the service; everything was in excellent condition and worked perfectly.

Es war unsere erste Reise mit einem RV. Bei der Übergabe wurde uns alles ausführlich erklärt, alle Fragen wurden beantwortet.
Während der Reise kontaktierten wir zweimal den Kundendienst. Wir haben innerhalb kürzester Zeit eine hilfreiche Antwort erhalten.
Die Übergabe am Ende erfolgte schnell und problemlos.

Good RV, with a few minor problems however, and outrageously expensive for using at Burning Man.

El Monte in Dublin CA are real pros. Pick up and drop off were smooth and easy. It’s expensive but less than similar places in the area. And their honesty, clean vehicles, and smooth service set them
apart. We’ll back next year.

Wir haben einen rundherum wunderschönen Urlaub mit einem tollen Wohnmobil verbracht. Die Organisation und Abwicklung mit El Monte hat einwandfrei funktioniert und wir fühlten uns in sehr guten Händen. Wir würden das jederzeit wieder machen und wir können El Monte zu 100 % weiterempfehlen.

Unfortunately, I have to vent my immense frustration with El Monte today. We’ve already taken several RV trips through the U.S. and Canada, and our experiences with RV rental companies have been good to very good without exception. This year, we took a three-week round-trip starting from San Francisco (El Monte in Dublin).
We had booked the RV through a German travel agency. First of all, I was annoyed by the extremely high fees we had to pay to pick up our RV a little earlier and also return it earlier (in the late morning)—partly because of our early return flight. Up until now, the rental company had always arranged transportation from the hotel to the rental station. That wasn’t the case with El Monte. The cost of the taxi from San Francisco was not insignificant. The handover went quickly and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately, the RV had already clocked well over 40,000 miles, which was also evident in the interior. For a 3-week vacation, only one bedsheet is provided as standard. The blankets had no covers and were only meant to be placed on top of the bedsheets. The tableware was so sparse that, for example, there were only three spoons available for four people. During the first few kilometers, the side door of the camper popped open several times. We then had to lock it every time before setting off during the trip. The bathroom door, too, could only be closed—with great effort and by lifting it slightly—so that it wouldn’t keep popping open. At the first campground, we noticed that the thread on the power cord had been over-tightened. While emptying the black and gray water tanks, we discovered holes in the drain hose (which is pretty unsanitary). The worst part, however, was that whenever we were camping off-grid, the refrigerator would set off an alarm around 2:30 a.m. because the battery was dead (unfortunately, the new El Monte refrigerators no longer run on gas). Naturally, we were worried that our food would spoil. It’s important to note that we followed all recommendations regarding battery charging and didn’t have any other appliances running in the evenings. Because of this—and due to a leaky black water valve—we contacted El Monte’s roadside assistance a total of three times. They responded promptly (by phone and email) and were very helpful. However, a battery dealer we visited afterward couldn’t find any fault (it later turned out that he would have had to completely remove the battery for testing, so his measurements were incorrect). In the end, only a service shop could have helped us with these problems, but that would have required a major detour and likely cost us a lot of time (our round-trip itinerary, including overnight stays and activities, was tightly scheduled).
We got the impression that El Monte barely checks its vehicles for proper function before handing them over and leaves this up to the renters during their vacation. Of course, they point out that they will cover any repair costs that arise. But who has the time or inclination to spend their vacation at repair shops? Individual problems can always arise unexpectedly, but the cumulative effect of these defects—like the other annoyances—points to a focus on maximizing profits.

No shuttle, uninterested guy who did the tour around the rv. Camper was worn out, window shutters did not close. Engine bay makes lot of noise in the interior.No proper sleeping material. one small blanket and a very small cushion is not enough for the money you pay to rent it.
Not willing to think with us about discount or anything when something was wrong with the rv on the first day and we had to stay at a workshop for the night.. So this did cost us an extra day and we had to reschedule our trip reservations. The person who helped us returning the rv was not so friendly nor helpful. Convinced of his own right, although reality was different.

We rented a camper in August 2026. Once we were on the road, we noticed a leak under the sink that had been plugged with toilet paper. Fortunately, we were able to fix it ourselves, but the fact that they didn't inspect and return the camper in that condition is not appreciated at all. We also had problems right from the start with the direct water supply; if we connected the toilet, it would fill up with water. For these reasons, I consider the rental to be unprofessional.

Everything went smoothly right from the moment we picked up the RV. We were well informed and briefed, so getting started was a breeze.
The RV was clean and in good condition. It was well-equipped and had everything we needed. The Ford E350 takes some getting used to for European drivers and uses a lot of gas, but it’s also fun to drive this V8 Monster.

We had so many downtimes, malfunctions and issues with the hotline. A pitty, could have been a nice and relaxed summer with family...

This was our first family RV trip, and we had a great experience with El Monte RV. The RV was clean and comfortable, and everything worked well throughout our trip.

Unfortunately, we hit a deer during the trip. Thankfully, no one was injured. The front bumper and headlight had some minor damage, but the RV was still safe to drive, so we were able to continue our trip as planned.

We were in an area without cell service and weren’t able to report the accident within 24 hours. The staff were understanding about the situation and helped us through the process, and the damage was covered by our insurance. We were especially glad that we had chosen the VIP Plus coverage.

Overall, we had a very positive experience, both with the RV and the staff at the San Leandro location. We would definitely consider renting from El Monte again for our next RV trip.

FIRST TIME RENTING . IS WA A GREAT RV EXPECT IT WOULD OF BEEN BETTER IF ITEMS AND USAGE OF RV WAS EXPLAINED BETTER. BED WAS BROKEN AND NOT TOLD ABOUT. OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS A NICE RV.

Wir hatten ein 1 Jahr altes 29 ft Wohnmobil in einem sehr guten Zustand bekommen. Dieses war sogar besser ausgestattet als wir es gebucht hatten (mit Slide-out).
Sowohl die Übernahme (in Las Vegas) als auch die Abgabe wurden zügig und professionell abgewickelt.
Wir hatten auf der Fahrt einen Steinschlag in der Windschutzscheibe, die dann auch gleich gerissen war. Zum Glück hatten wir eine entsprechende Versicherung abgeschlossen.
Der Manager bei der Abgabe in Dublin (Kalifornien) wahr sehr freundlich und es gab dort keinerlei Probleme wegen des Schadens. Der Manager sprach zudem ausgezeichnet deutsch, obwohl er nur drei Jahre in Deutschland gelebt hat.
Wir würden jederzeit wieder bei El Monte ein Wohnmobil mieten, es stimmte (im Vergleich zu anderen Vermietern) das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis und der Service.
