Highly disappointed, over 6 months sent two applications for medical driving licence.
Not received my forms , paid for recorded delivery, with all forms completed, with delivery tracking number to hand.
Called DVLSA , multiple times, no answer , over 30 minutes waiting for response.
Frustrating service. Disability related concern, nobody to assist or resolve my need for driving licence to submit to employer.
Is this Government Service actually reliable or supporting? ( NO ) .
Urgent responses to be given.
This is an embarrassing service .
Evidence to hand . Yet no one cares .

Don’t bother horrible attitude form customer service and when you try to get threw they cut you off never use them again

Just tried to get information so I can renew my driving licence after a 6 month ban , at the time of the disgulfication in June I had been living at another address , I moved in August , tried to change it online but couldn't, been on the phone for 20minutes . It also took a year for me to get a V5 logbook , what the heck is going on with them ?

Waited on hold as the options to select were not relevant to my enquiry, then had automated message saying busy at present call later and the call was disconnected 🤷🏻‍♀️

Awful 30 m on a phone call waiting for an answer wouldn’t have to keep ringing if they put someone on the phone who actually has an idea of what they are trained to know ! Useless

A small part of my truth about DVLA, for about two years my car has been parked in a private parking lot in front of my house which has not been used since 19/05/2023 since I bought another car. The engine in the car burned out and I can't drive it, I have sent evidence of the car in pictures several times where it has been parked for all that time. I am sure that DVLA will open the envelope with the evidence and throw everything together in the bin and send me back to pay a fine of £50 - £100 because of my car and my neighbor across the road just today while I am writing this review has 6 cars of which only one has all properly paid insurance, tax and has an MOT, and I sent that evidence to DVLA but they are not interested in that at all because they are asking me for the third time why I am not obliged to pay. If anyone says that the law in the UK is the same for everyone, that is a very big lie. While he sits somewhere in an office and persistently insists that it is the law for some people to have to pay even if they don't have to, and they are not even interested in the proof I sent them about my car, and the proof that should interest many more people like my neighbor who drives many cars without insurance, tax, etc., that problem is the same as many in the UK like my neighbor who drive five to six cars on UK roads without insurance, tax, or MOT. Just awful really… tried to purchase a plate on Saturday website crashed payments been taken.
Tried to repurchases on Sunday website crashed yet again payment has been taken, no private plate, need to wait 5 days for a refund for both payments… never again, called dvla and there’s nothing they can do… shock, safe to say I’ll be staying well clear from now on!

I visited GOV.UK DVLA registrations looking to buy a private plate through a trusted website. I was impressed by the wide range of available options at cost effective prices. The online process couldn’t have been easier. Having selected my private registration, the certificate of entitlement was through my letter box within 4 days, allowing me to have the new plates fitted the same day.

A great and efficient service so thank you DVLA.

It's pretty shocking that a government department should be running this so-called auction which is more like a racket. What auctioneer would refuse to drop the hammer on a lot interminably, never specifying the next 'deadline' which isn't really a deadline, just so he can bid the suckers up endlessly?

Takes ages to get through, them messages says they are busy and call back, then 4 weeks to process a form. They are beyond inefficient is ridiculous

No stars if I could - tried to buy a number plate yesterday for £300 roughly as a gift. When tried to go in to the DVLA Site just before and at 10am asked to tick if not a robot then used captcha clicked all the required boxes then tried to purchase the number and came up with an error.
Tried again and number was no longer available.
I then tried a number plate selling site who tried to sell me the number which they didn't have. I registered my interest in the number plate I was looking for with another company who phoned me this morning to offer it to me for £3000. I expect companies to make a profit but this is near extortion. Absolutely disgusting from DVLA - allowing companies to profiteer buy buying up number plates denying the general public who go through hoops on their site in order to stop bots but getting them bought up by companies probably using bots anyway. This stops ordinary people from being able to buy the number plate they were looking for. I think the DVLA need to look at improving the site in order that the public have a better chance in buying the plates they are looking for. Totally disappointed.

I've recently wanted to renew my HGV class 1 as a diabetic type 1 and was advised by the DVLA to put on a covering letter on monitoring my glucose level which I do daily , I was recommended by my diabetes nurse to use new system, little did I know that as a type 1 diabetic that I need to use both systems both finger pricking and the new monitoring system , I was not aware of this neither does it say on self assembly forms , I have now had my HGV 1 revoked which I'm not bothered about now and reapplied for my car licence, letters sent on Monday to fill in from Wales to cumbria , a week later still not here , so I downloaded forms off net and filled in , now could take upto 10 days to get onto their archaic system, if I never had thr Internet why are you sending letters by post and not using the Internet (emails etc) , you're paying someone to type them out and wasting money sending by Royal snail mail , my car licence was issued with 3 years and hgv1 with 1 year , surely common sense says that if I cam drive a car with the new monitoring system freestyle libre 2 then why have you revoked my car licence when the covering letter that I was recommended to send to you via a member of the DVLA mentions that I glucose test .
Also the annoying part of when you lot down there want tax rentals etc etc it has to be done ASAP but when someone like my self needs anything it takes a bloody eternity and lots of inconvenience and myself doing all he running around to get anything done
Last year 4 months to get a log book for my car and told so many different things , it's a joke and just not good enough , as a government department the DVLS is a shambles an absolute joke living in the 80s and 90s with their systems.
The Royal mail are joke too I received a letter revoking my licence on a Sunday ( after getting back from a weeknd away ) after leaving straight from work on a friday and unbenown to me been driving around with no valid licence as it was revoked on the Saturday, if I'd been stopped by the police I wouldn't of had a clue what was going on , good old DVLA a joke just like the new Labour government

Tried to purchase a personal plate, but process is absolutely ridiculous, I gave a password, but you're website insists on using "self suggestion" which is the canceled, which leads to endless resubmission, which ultimately leads to nothing, very Very poor for a government funded company, absolutely pathetic joke

Horrible and disgusting group of thieves !!!!! with No warning and no letter issued about Road tax reminder at the very least after purchasing a vehicle, having it parked up for about2-3 weeks, and Putting a SORN on it a couple of weeks before an Out of court settlement letter was then sent for £200, I contested it with proof to show I had put a SORN weeks before the DVLA fine was sent out but still got rejected for no valid reasons

I encountered the same issue as the previous submitter when I tried to purchase a new 24 registration plate. Despite multiple attempts, the website kept crashing and by the time it stabilised, the plate was no longer available. Curiously, I was unable to login afterwards, yet someone else managed to successfully purchase the plate. This leads me to suspect that dealers may have special access to buy these plates. It seems that while DVLA registrations appear to be available to everyone, they may actually be prioritising individuals with significant financial resources or the potential to generate substantial profits.

Just a joke...release all the new 24 plate numbers today and the site has crashed...you have had this previously many times but your IT department must be really poor as it happens every year.(Maybe employ those who work for Amazon or Google who know what they are doing)
However dealers who have direct access are hoovering up all the good numbers and making a fortune.

Impossible to get an answer to simple questions. Have applied for my license 4 months ago, but keep being told they don't have the forms needed even though they have been sent and this has been confirmed by DVLA. More months of waiting! Shocking, as will loose my job now, and have to claim benefits due to DVLA

Really appalling, trying to buy a plate, impossible.hardly surprising the reviews are so bad.the system needs a complete overhaul.

In the past 18 months I've bought and sold 4 cars and 2 bikes.

Each time the system at .Gov.uk worked perfectly.
I was able to transfer ownerships and tax the vehicles quickly and easily.
All the V5 log books I needed, arrived within 5 days.

A really easy system to use, I would highly recommend it.

DVLA are becoming lazy sending out v5 log book i have not received my yet why should I pay £25 for a v5 log book which I can get it free from the dvla they are taking a long time it's coming up to nearly three months my car v5 log book hasn't arrived yet this is unacceptable from the DVLA.
