The Dutch Flow retreat was a life-changing few days led by a wonderful Master of the flowing arts of Mace and Club, Harbert and his amazing team, Leslie and Eric.

The weekend was not only an incredible physical learning experience, but was also a spiritual journey through the experience of flow and breath work. The Dutch Flow method has combined ancient functional fitness teachings with the modern understanding of exercise, Creating a unique, healthy and extremely fun system of mobility, strength training, and coordination workout system that I would highly recommend to everyone!

Personally mace flow and club flow has been the only strength exercises I was able to do with my prolonged back problems and has, and still is transforming my life.

Thank you for this wonderful experience The Flowing Dutchman, Harbert! I am looking forward to attending another workshop as well as being a part of the online courses and online community!

There really isn't anything on the market like these Flow courses. Great video quality. Harbert explains how to use the tools in detail. I have the Full Mace Master, and Light Clubs Master Class. Both are fun and deceptively challenging. I recommend all of the courses offered at Dutch Flow Academy.

I’ve been training with maces, kettlebells, and Indian clubs consistently, and adding the 8kg Dutch Flow Gada into my routine has been a great experience.

First thing I’ll say don’t let the 8kg (17 lb) number fool you. This is not light by any means. The weight distribution toward the ball end creates a completely different feel compared to a mace. The leverage and pendulum effect demand much more control, timing, and coordination than the number suggests.

The craftsmanship is excellent. The wooden handle feels natural in the hands, and the balance of the gada makes it ideal for smooth, continuous movement. It encourages proper technique and you can’t muscle through it, you have to move with it.

What I appreciate most is how well it fits into a flow-based training approach. It sits perfectly between lighter flow tools and heavier strength tools, making it ideal for refining timing, breath, and movement quality.

This gada is not just about strength, it’s a tool that teaches rhythm, control, and connection. If you’re coming from mace or club training, you’ll immediately feel the difference, but also see how it complements and enhances your overall practice.

Highly recommend it for anyone serious about developing fluid, controlled movement.

I had an mace workshop at 29-03-2026 in Amsterdam.
It was a great experience. The instructor took us step by step to the first learnig off the mace flowing . He makes time for everyone for advice. The atmosfeer during the training was relax and did help to improve my flowing with te mace. He had different typs of maces so you could also feel the different between them. If you have a doubt of join the workshop, do not, it will give you a great experience

Not what i expected.

My first time ever using a mace. The course is fun and easy to follow. It is a great workout and I feel like I’m getting a lot stronger. I would highly recommend.

Excellent demonstration, and simple language to describe the learning. I like the idea of using a metronome to keep on the beat, and maintain consistency. Good job 😃👍.

Everything about the Dutch Flow Academy has been super positive. From their YouTube videos, the website layout, purchasing, the courses and even the direct interaction with Harbert himself.

I’m currently halfway through Mace 101 and I’m swinging away so much better than just a few weeks ago.

I’ve a Mace currently being made to order for me and can’t wait for it to arrive.

I really enjoyed the Level 1 Mace Instructor course. The videos were a great mode of instruction. I feel that after the course I had truly grown in strength, knowledge of the mace/gada, and as an instructor. I think one of the greatest strengths to the class was the access to Halbert, other coaches, and fellow students around the world. It was a great experience. I plan to take other courses through this platform and in person when I am able to

Excellent content & coaching
I really like the classes so far. I also like that I can go back and repeat each step as many times as comfortable to improve my technique. The coaching is also excellent breaking down the moves into small and learnable steps. Being able to also view the example of the coach along with his assistant is very helpful. I'm looking forward to continuing this practice.
