Feathers everywhere

Bought two lovely Duresta sofas with feather filled back and seat cushions. I have just been doing the weekly vacuuming and as usual there are lots of feathers on the floor. We noticed the problem soon after they were delivered. We contacted the furniture store who told us to contact the furniture ombudsman. They took on our case, but as we had no written evidence that we had complained to the furniture store, they told us there was nothing they could do. So now we have feathers leaking from both sofas every day. We are both 71 and thought that these would be the best and last sofas we would buy. They are now looking extremely floppy and we have given up plumping them as we are then showered with feathers. SO DISAPPOINTED.

Very helpful response from Duresta. We now have four new back cushions for our sofas. The lining seems to be a stronger fabric and so far we are only finding feathers on the scatter cushions. Such a relief!

Whilst it is a natural characteristic of feather interiors, that they may "leak" some feathers during normal use and especially dressing of the cushions, it does sound as though what you are experiencing is excessive.

Delighted with the sofa repair work…

Had a problem with my new Duresta sofas, this was handled by Amy who kept in contact directly with me and via the Retailer. She was quick to respond with a positive solution and whilst we had to wait for the materials to come into stock to resolve it, the remedial work was carried out as promised to a very high standard and I am delighted with the end result. Special thanks to James, the upholsterer, for his professionalism, care and pride in his craft and to Amy for her excellent customer service skills in making sure this was resolved successfully for us. Duresta comfort is outstanding

I knew as soon as sat on the Duresta Greenwich sofa in Donaldsons in Carlisle that it was The One!
So comfortable and luxurious unlike anything else I had tried. My standard was you shouldn’t need a cushion to be comfortable and with this one you don’t.
My Green Velvet sofas arrived in February 2024 earlier than the due date and they are perfect!
The service we received from Donaldsons was outstanding.

Excellent Help from the Duresta Customer Service Team

We are absolutely delighted with our Duresta Harvard Grand Sofa, Chair and Footstool which are all beautifully made and look stunning. We also wanted to purchase coordinating fabric from the Harvard range to complete the look of our room. Amy from the Duresta Customer Service Team assisted us with this, provided the information we needed and simply could not have been more helpful. Great service and a big ‘thank you’.

I had a problem entering my address on…

I had a problem entering my address on your Registration of Furniture page on the Duresta website. Unfortunately it omitted a line of my address and I did not realise until I received confirmation of Registration by separate email. I cannot edit or review my entry of the Registration now.
The problem I had with Registration was all sorted out very quickly by a very professional Customer Service Representative who took time to ring me and explain that my furniture was actually automatically registered for warranty via their retailer, so no need for me to actually input any details via their website. Thank you Duresta for your attention.

If I could give Zero Stars I would !
Brought a Spitfire sofas and chairs in lockdown, waited nearly a year for delivery, after two years the Leather quality was appalling considering the £10k spend. Complained to CEO Mr Clive Kenyon-Brown, took nearly a year and a threat of legal action. They sent out a dodgy subcontractor who filled out the complaint form prior to seeing the sofa ! CCTV images to prove this !
New covers made with much cheaper leather quality & filling, within weeks same fault as before and magically old covers they don't have anymore !!!!! Photo after less than 1 week.
Wish I had kept my money, for such a prestige maker, how disappointing !

Even their reply online has broken GDPR rules for this review ! And this sums up there response of a company that clearly doesn't understand how to deal with Complaints or the consumer rights act 2015 !

The Sofa was within the time limit of there guarantee, but sadly took over a year to reply and as if by magic over there guarantee period !!!! Blamed on Covid and missing emails !

Please go to Google reviews to see how bad the substandard replacement covers look after a few days !

Generally excellent

Generally excellent. Superb quality and early delivery. Unfortunately a fault noticed in the middle of one base cushion that should have been picked up at the factory. Hence a star less. I hope this will be quickly sorted by the manufacturer.

Sheer luxury, comfort and opulence

Having spent 4 months looking at options, we visited Vasey's in Carlisle for the 4th time. They had just got the Harvard 3 seater large sofa, reading chair and matching footstool in the showroom. It was so comfortable to sit on (I like sofas you sink into), looked luxurious in the gorgeous monarchy gold complimented by the reading chair in black with contrasting black & gold cushions with footstool to match. A timeless look that wont date and quality.

Never again

Never again. Duresta sofas and chairs have far too soft seats to hold shape and support, hence user sinks and the arm rests become too high. Thoughtless non ergonomic designs good for nothing. They have so far refused to replace the cushion material to correct their design error. Ongoing for the past twelve months.

In response to Duresta's reply below, I do not imply that quality of the material used is in any way not good enough or poor, its softness makes it simply unsuitable for a seating cushion. This is a design error! The seat sinks; it is as simple as that! Seat requires very hard or hard foam with the right backing and shaping. Arm rests are for arms not for shoulders!

We had a Duresta suite for 16 years and…

We had a Duresta suite for 16 years and whilst it was as good as the day we bought it we felt it was now out dated so in 2022 we bought a new suite costing £16000. Whilst we love it one of the chairs has slightly loose arms which bothers me but my wife seems to think it acceptable. It’s ok now but I am worried about it’s none term stability and I don’t feel its quite as well made as the original suite. Hope I am wrong as it is a lovely comfortable suite.
