Looking overall at the whole process I am happy with the information, service, installation and the actual garage doors.

Following the motor burning out on our 12 year old existing door we had to source a new door so set about getting quotes for a similar door. We contacted a number of installers and received varying responses.
The best of these was from Doormatic Garage Doors. An appointment was made and the surveyor arrived on time and proceeded to give us good advice on an exact replacement or change of style. After receiving a detailed quote which was extremely competitive which fitted our budget, we accepted the quote for a different design to what we already had. The fitters arrived on time and proceeded to replace the existing door with our new door without any fuss or drama to our exact specification.
We are absolutely delighted with our new door and are very pleased we chose Doormatic to supply and fit it. We recommend Doormatic Garage Doors without any hesitation.

I used Doormatic to service my garage doors. For £180, they do no more than look at the doors open and shut and messily spray some WD40. They say to service the doors every year…my advice is to save yourself the money.

What is more, they sent a calendar invite showing they would be with me between 2 and 3pm. They hadn't shown at gone 3.25pm without any call saying they are running late or notification of an ETA. When I called their offices, there was no offer of an apology and was told they would call me back after speaking to their engineer, which they didn’t do.

This company hasn’t got the first clue on customer service and they excel at arrogance and over charging once they have secured a sale.

The garage doors themselves are fine and have no complaints with.

My 93 year old mum chose this company, on the basis that it has a check-a-trader profile, and as it had a local 'phone number assumed it was local company. BIG MISTAKE: it is not local, overcharges, and has poor administrative back up. In her initial call she was advised over the 'phone that she had to pay their call out fee of £129 to come to look at the garage door, as this is standard in the industry; it would be serviced and if it there was a problem and could not be sorted they would order parts and come back only paying for parts, and would be guaranteed for 12 months. Having identified a broken spring, they quoted £212 plus VAT for each spring, plus labour. I took issue - repeatedly asked for the labour to be taken off the invoice, and every time it was re-sent, it included labour. They sent it repeatedly in the wrong name and to the wrong email address. We gave up on the company and asked for a refund, which was agreed and they then changed their mind the following day. My lovely mum then asked another company to come out, which they did FREE OF CHARGE they secured the springs at a cost of £135 per spring plus VAT and the following day fitted them for £78 plus vat. Her bill from the other company was £417.60 including VAT and labour. Doormatic Garage doors were proposing to charge £556 - already having charged £129; so a total of £685. As they already have your £129 they then overcharge for the cost of the part. In short, steer clear of this company and use a real local company.

Doormatic were excellent from start to finish. Am very please with my new canopy overhead garage door which is very good quality. The fitters Lewis and Ben were efficient and professional

Just had a new Roller Type Garage Door fitted by this Company. The process was quick and easy. I was also happy with the final invoice. But the main reason for leaving this review was the outstanding quality of the door fitted and also the workman were fast and efficient. Very happy with Doormatic.

Survey and quote were submitted in a timely fashion. The installation team arrived on time and once the door was fitted and commissioned the installers cleared and cleaned site taking the old door with them . highly recommend

Had this company come out to service my Roller Shutter garage door on Friday. Cost £129.60 which was high. Engineer came and could not complete the service as it needs a new part which they now propose to charge me for (that is ok) but in addition they demand an additional call out fee of £45 to fit it which is totally unacceptable. Happy to pay for the part but not for the additional call out and as the service has now not been completed I willl be claiming a full refund of the £160 for the work not completd. Do NOT use these people.

The safety edge did not detect an obstruction and reverse as promised but continued to close and jammed. Long story short I ended up with an opening to the garage and had to barricade the internal garage door and my bedroom fir 5 nights until Doormatic came to rehang the door. A temporary solution Doormatic has offered to fit new brackets to hang the door AT COST. I requested a replacement as the door is obviously faulty. I am advised that the warranty does not cover the damage as the door is not designed to hit an obstruction. Doormatic stated that i either accept their proposal or go away. Alice in Wonderland territory. I notice that Checatrade reviews are effusive with praise yet Trust Pilot is the absolute oppisite. Hmm. Lesson learned. I will check Trust Pilot in future. I have ordered a door from a REPUTABLE COMPANY.

The engineers of the company are fine and do a good job. But the people in the office are Horrible to deal with, very pushy, on the verge of aggressivity, arrogant, wanting payment upfront, which i refused, Had to wait weeks to get the final repair appointment and when the time came this morning, they phoned before the engineers were out of their van, wanting the payment of the balance immediately, i refused to pay before the end of a well finished job. Not a nice experience at all as the customer is made to feel they cannot be trusted. Very unpleasant... There is no need for that!!! My two stars are for the engineers, and zero for the office, they need to learn how to trade...

Had an appointment that had been paid for and never turned up
I rang them on the day and they said he was about 1 hour away then rang again and he was a few minutes away
Then get a call at 5.01 to say he wasnt coming
Had taken a day off work and lost out

Then booked again and was promised 1st appointment. All confirmed but on the day get an email to say they wernt coming as engineer was ill

Took ages to get my money back and no one called back even though promised many times apart from 1 girl called Amy.

Please avoid at any cost.

Door was perfect, never had any issues from the day they quoted. Kept me informed of installation date. Well manufacture solid wood garage door.

Would recommend.

Should have seen these reviews before spending nearly £2,000 on a mis-sold automatic door operator called x-box for the garage door.

Half a dozen call outs later, for different issues, it turned out they only sold 1 or 2 each year and it is obvious why! There was a break-in only a few weeks after installation (although we had none in all the years before that) but their installer just insisted this was not possible!

We did try to reject it as not fit for purpose, which was ignored. Shortly after the "impossible" break-in, we had a new lock fixed on the garage door and simply stopped using the x-box.

What a very expensive and total waste of money (and a lot of should-have-been-unnecessary upset).

Doormatic. The worst company ever. £120 for a 5 minute service. They charged me £385 for 2 small parts that I could have got for less than half that price had I known. Communication is terrible all they want is your money. Do yourself a favour and look elsewhere

Awful service avoid it at all costs. Booked the service and paid £130 upfront. Engineers were late for an hour. I have two garage's doors but they meant to service one of them and reprogram a few remotes for the second door. After they left none of my garage’s doors were working. The one that they meant to service didn’t work properly after they left and on the second door they managed to break a control unit board so the door didn’t work at all after. Just to let you know before they came to do the service the door was working perfectly. I was asking them as professionals to connect couple of remote controllers and they totally ruined the door. If you want to save your money and nerves I would warmly suggest you to avoid this company! By the way engineers told me that office will contact me about the new control unit board. Obviously they didn’t but when I called them they said they don’t know anything about it and engineers should be contact you not us.

I purchased an automatic garage door 18 months ago, supplied and installed by Doormatic Garage doors, and I have had frequent jamming since the first week it was installed. Today is September 23rd 2024 and this is the fifth time the garage door is jammed and they are not able to send someone to fix the problem until October 16th 2024.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY, IT WILL COST YOU MORE MONEY...!! If I could give no stars I would. We arranged a new garage door via this company and said that we wanted an electric roller door, but that we need top security due to having 2 motor cycles left in out garage. We were told that the electric roller door offered by them was the most secure door they offer (also the most expensive) and it also came with a very loud alarm. From day one we have nothing but issues. The alarm kept triggering for no reason, and the so called really loud alarm was a mere annoying beeping noise. We had people come out multiple times to look at this and they didn't know why, it was agreed that the person would report back that we required a new sensory on the door and we heard nothing until we chased them. We had appointments not met as no one turned up. This is however not the main issue. Multiple times we would come back to our garage and the door was wide open, advertising to everyone that we had motorcycles kept in our garage. Every time we closed the garage door I would stand by it and watch it close and listen to the locks clicking shut, so I know the door was shut when we walked away, but would come back hours later and it would be wide open. We called Door Matic multiple times about this and was met with unprofessional attitude and a 'I don't really care about it' attitude. Until this year in April on returning home to find the garage door wide open, again. We closed this and kept checking that it was closed until we went to bed. However in the morning I woke up to having my garage broken into and the 'most secure door' they offer was folded in half like a piece of paper and pulled out of the runners, oh with no alarm going off. When we called Door Matic to inform them that due to their faulty door that kept opening and them not repairing it I had now been robbed, I was basically told that I was lying and that the electric door wouldn't open on its own, however their records will show that we called MULTIPLE times to report this fault and now it has costs us 2 motorcycles. They rejected that any of this was their fault, but if the door didn't keep opening on its own then the chances are that the thief's on the look out wouldn't have seen my nice new motorcycle on display for them. The resolution they offered was to come round and replace the door at my cost, which I obviously declined. To add insult to injury I have now just received a letter from them reminding me that my garage door is due a service, although they know we no longer have that door, is that meant to be some kind of joke, after knowing the sensitive issue we have been through, being robbed of thousands of pounds in motorcycles due to their faulty door they send me a letter about that fault door..!! We had a garage door replaced by another company that informed us that the electric garage door fitted by Door Matic was merely a window shutter with no security at all. This is probably the most unprofessional business that I have ever dealt with.

Very bad communication. Pushy employees that made us pay a deposit early (our fault). We were told our deposit will be on hold before we choose the proper garage door we want. They proceeded with ordering a garage door we didn't want, although they had been explicitly told to wait.
Now they are bickering about not refunding our deposit. Avoid this company.

Great Workmaship. It was a pleasant change to have workmen come and leave everything clean and tidy. Would certainly use again

Prompt,professional company. From start to finish Dorrmatic have been totally professional from there office to the fitting of our garage door. Pleasant change to find a company that keep to their promises
