Very good experience with Pete Downer (Clinical Nurse Specialist)
He always makes me feel at ease chatting to him , he’s genuinely interested in how I’ve been doing and offers great support and encouragement. I leave our calls feeling upbeat moving forward.

Each step leading up to the assessment was clear. The Diverse Diagnostics team was helpful and answered any questions I had within a reasonable amount of time. I appreciated all the information (including timelines) I received ahead of the assessment, so I knew what to expect.

After the assessment, I also received a good amount of support. Every staff member I communicated with demonstrated courteousness, professionalism, and empathy.

Overall, I had a positive experience and I'm grateful to the Diverse Diagnostics team.

Unfortunately I had a bad experience. I had been recommended Diverse Diagnostics by my brother who is a doctor. I had a consultation with a Consultant Psychiatrist who was rude, snappy , impatient and he also kept yawning. It was an unpleasant experience and I would not recommend this Dr. He had all the interpersonal skills of a pickled onion. The Admin team were very nice and could teach the Dr a thing or two about manners. I would not recommend spending hard-earned money on a session with this Dr who would blatantly rather have been anywhere else than doing the session.

Any moment I have a question I will always get a reply which is always considerate to the fact that I may need things explaining in more detail. I trust this company and would recommend them to others

1) BOOKING & FIRST CONSULTATION (Carrie Buchanan)

I booked a 15-minute consultation on a Friday and was seen the following Monday. I'd done a lot of my own research into ADHD beforehand, so I came in with some fairly complex questions. Every one was answered clearly, in detail, and promptly. Carrie was informative and reassuring, and I left feeling confident about taking the next step.

2) THE ASSESSMENT (Cara Preston & Dr Stuart d'Arch Smith)

Later that same Monday I decided to go ahead with the full ADHD assessment. Cara Preston came back to me after I'd decided and got me booked in. I was offered a cancellation slot for the following week, accepted, and then Cara called shortly after to offer an even earlier slot just two days later, on the Wednesday.

The assessment itself was excellent. Dr d'Arch Smith was patient and informative, and gave me plenty of room to speak. It felt more like a guided conversation than a clinical assessment. He gave a full explanation at the end along with a provisional diagnosis, and the final written report arrived two weeks later.

3) MEDICATION COORDINATION (Victoria Rennie)

Victoria Rennie coordinated the scheduling of my medication appointments and made that whole side of things effortless, which I really appreciated.

4) ONGOING CARE (Pete Downer)

My medication appointments were with Pete Downer, and Pete is absolutely brilliant. I started medication, titrated up gradually month by month, and stabilised. I've just completed my first 6-month review since stabilising, and my life has genuinely changed.

Nearly all of my appointments have been with Pete, and I now request him specifically. A few things that stand out:
• He's hugely supportive, and I actually look forward to my appointments.
• He keeps his professional standards very high while still making each session feel like a relaxed catch-up.
• He can take my "waffle" and summarise it back in clear, accurate points that hit the nail on the head.
• He shows real interest in me as a person, not just a patient. That clinical "wall" you often feel with health professionals simply isn't there.

I genuinely can't thank Pete enough. A real measure of the difference this has made is that I've since applied to study medicine at university, interviewed, and received an offer, and being able to tell Pete in person was a genuine highlight.

5) WHY I TRUSTED THEM (the science checks out)

As someone from a science background, one thing stood out above everything else. Every email and phone call was handled by qualified people with degrees in relevant fields such as psychology. Any reassurance I was given came backed by data and cited research, rather than just "don't worry".
Claims supported by evidence is a huge green flag for me, and it's a big part of why I trusted the whole process.

6) THE WHOLE TEAM

A thank you to the entire Diverse Diagnostics team as well. I've been in correspondence with many of them, and the people named above are simply the ones who stand out and who I've had the most regular contact with. Emails were answered promptly at all times of day, and everyone was consistently willing to help. From start to finish the process has been smooth, and it has genuinely changed my life.

When I had my first consultation I was struggling. Really struggling and on my knees. I have now completed my consultations and now feel 100% better. I had my assessment and diagnosis through diverse diagnostics a few months ago and I am now going through medication titration. I have spent all of my life struggling with feeling too much, different to others and being diagnosed or assessed for a variety of mental health disorders. After speaking with GP and mental health nurse having exhausted all other possibilities and coping mechanisms and unable to cope with the mental noise and sleep disturbance any longer (perimenopause definitely made it impossible) i decided to look at a private assessment for ADHD as too many of my symptoms fitted. I cannot fault the service provided here. Everyone Has been helpful and supportive throughout. In addition I recently had my 12 year old daughters school flag concerns which I am not surprised about at given my recent diagnosis (and my oldest daughters clear undiagnosed ADHD) which resulted in a referral to CAMHS. With a waiting list of now 4 years, we have decided to have her assessed through diverse diagnostics also as we are confident with their services.

I was made to feel at ease on my consultation and really understood.
The communication is great and really fast.
My next steps are my assessment which I received really fast compared to what the nhs is like.

I thoroughly recommend Diverse Diagnostics for adult ADHD diagnosis and treatment.

The team are extremely friendly, and clearly understand neurodiversity. The forms and emails are a clear reflection of this, designed not to overwhelm but provide clear and unambiguous facts.

I initially scheduled a 15 minute screening call where the team recommended I continue with a full assessment. I was booked in for my appointment a month later. My consultant was brilliant and listened to everything I said, helping me to expand on areas I felt I couldn’t thoroughly explain. I received my diagnosis and a comprehensive report which will satisfy any future queries my employers, the NHS, or anyone else will have.

Following this, I decided to pursue treatment via medication. I was listened to throughout, and Laura clearly understands my individual struggles recommending one medication over another and explaining why my answers led her to this conclusion. I completely agreed with her explanation and felt confident with the decision. It was helped that all the team are extremely personable, relating their own life experience where appropriate to yours, which helped me to build trust and confidence in their expertise.

I’ve only just started a course of treatment but I know that Diverse Diagnostics will be there to support me throughout.

What I will say is that diagnosis and treatment is not cheap. I knew this going in but would be remised if I didn’t mention that you should only seek this treatment option if you have a few hundred quid in disposable cash every month, or confidence that your GP will take you on via shared care.

In any case, I am very happy with my experience with Diverse Diagnostic and grateful to them for helping to change my life!
