Dharma's customer service is pretty…

Dharma's customer service is pretty amazing. There's no phone trees or virtual assistants, or operators with heavy accents. Someone just answers the phone and fixes your problems or answers your questions in a couple of minutes. Their prices or great, too. I've used them for about 5 years, and don't plan on switching anytime soon.

I contacted Paypal and Dharma to set up…

I contacted Paypal and Dharma to set up a card charging system for the animal rescue nonprofit I volunteer at and the experience was completely different... For Dharma, I got a designated POC Nick who responded to my emails super fast and we were able to set up everything within just a few days. I sent in the application on Tuesday, and Nick helped me expedite the entire process so we would be able to use it at our adoption event on Saturday. The device was intuitive and I didn't need to set up anything, it just worked out of the box. On the other hand, I am still waiting on Paypal to get back to me regarding document review... so yes I deactivated our Paypal account. The experience with Dharma has been great, and I would recommend them to any nonprofit looking to start accepting credit cards.

I would not recommend Dharma Merchant…

I would not recommend Dharma Merchant services as they will say anything to get your account and then when you have any customer charge-back issues they immediately begin holding your funds with no notice or snail mail notice so you have no time to respond! They will send you confirmation that your account is good and then continue holding the funds without explanation. They do not care what effect it has on customers or their business! Very deceptive practices STAY AWAY!

We are very sorry that this situation devolved how it did, however Dharma acted professionally and in good faith from day one.

We specifically advertise that we're not high risk, and never made such promises. We have all email communications to prove as such.

We worked closely with this merchant in trying to get them to adequately respond to her multiple chargebacks. They ignored several voicemails and emails informing them of the situation. We have well documented notes that multiple employees reached out at multiple times via both phone and email to discuss the chargeback situation, all of which went ignored.

We informed the merchant (after fully funding her for ALL sales up to this point, in good faith, despite multiple chargebacks) that our risk team was uncomfortable with their future sales. We informed them in no uncertain terms that future sales would be held for review. We left four voicemails. We left sternly worded emails. We were incredibly clear that if she ran future sales, they'd be held.

A week later, they ran a large sale. They did not inform us in advance. They informed us via the same email we sent all previous notifications. That sale was held. When we informed them of the hold, they immediately threatened legal action, wrote reviews on every site possible, and were very hostile towards our staff. We decided that this merchant was no longer operating in good faith, based on their unwillingness to acknowledge our previous messaging, and increasingly aggressive communications.

At this point, due to previous risk issues on the account, the funds for that sale are being held until the chargeback window passes. Considering that this merchant has multiple verified online reviews that claim non-delivery of services that they paid for, we see considerable risk for future chargebacks based on non-delivery of services. Since then, the merchant has received numerous chargebacks. Those chargebacks totaled MORE than what we initially held, so at this point, the merchant now owes us money. The merchant's online reviews show how they do business - almost every review complains of non-communication, lies, deception, or empty promises. It appears that this is how the merchant prefers to do business.

This was an entirely avoidable and very unfortunate scenario. We work closely with our merchants to help ensure that we all stay protected from risk and chargebacks. But when merchants willingly ignore us and flaunt the rules that keep us all safe, funding holds are the result. This would have been the scenario at any provider, based on how this merchant acted. We wish that this situation hadn't occurred, but we're quite confident that we acted with integrity and good faith throughout the process. We are of the opinion that Dharma's online presence speaks for itself - our 12 years of customer service and five-star support are pillars of how we operate, even in difficult situations like these. We wish this merchant all the best in their future endeavors.

Reasonable Fees, Fast Access to your Funds & Exceptional Service!

We have been with a traditional merchant service provider forever, and after our fees continuing to increase for years we decided to look into some of the newer merchant service providers. We narrowed it down to 3, and ultimately chose Dharma as their knowledge of the interchange processing and transparency is second to none. They spent time answering all of our in-depth questions to find out what and why we were being charged with our previous provider, and what will happen at Dharma. They made the transition a breeze. Since switching, our merchant fees have been halved!!!! Amazing! Another pleasant surprise with Dharma, we get our funds in half the amount of time than our previous provider! And last but not least, their customer service/response time after signing on has not dropped either. Every time I have reached out my questions are answered...within minutes. If your business is looking for reasonable fees, access to your funds fast, and exceptional service, Dharma is your solution!

Folks always ready and available to help, answer questions, clarify terminology. Reports are easy to read. Merchant site is pretty easy to navigate - just wish statements were a one click project. We really appreciate the clear, consistent pricing!

Dharma cares: about you, your business, and the community

Dharma is more a partner than just some faceless processor. From the beginning they were super communicative and made a point to take interest in our business. Their team is quick to catch potential fraud and quick to resolve it. The fact that using their service also helps the community around us all makes them the perfect fit for us.

From the first interaction

From the first interaction, Dharma has felt different. I doubt this is an easy space to differentiate your business, but Dharma has done that in how their mission impacts their customer service and overall approach to making working with them easy - both with technology and staff interactions. The people at Dharma are ridiculously…

The people at Dharma are ridiculously easy to work with!! This part of running a business is never fun, nor is it easy to understand, but all the wonderful people at Dharma make it relatively pain free! Honest, friendly, responsive are words I would use to describe them. It's like working with your favorite family members! Talk to them...give them a try (no contracts) - you won't regret it!

Dharma has worked great for us.
We are getting better pricing on our merchant services and the billing practices are incredibly transparent and easy to reconcile. We are very satisfied with the move to Dharma as our Merchant Services provider.
