I bought a Cross bike 18 a long time ago and the inner pocket started to tear along with a few other pocket seams.

I emailed Deuter to ask how much it would be to repair it and they responded as if I was stupid. They didn't understand the concept of 'how much would it be to repair'. They said it would be free. A that's how they treat their kit.

Shocked and pleased, I sent it back and within no time, they repaired what I considered normal wear and tear.

Well worth buying once and having for a lifetime. If this level of customer service continues, they've got a got a customer for life.

Thank you again, if I could give you more praise, I would.

Edit:

I had another tear inside the pack at the bottom of the divider between the main and bladder sections. I contacted them again purely to see if this was repairable.

I received another set of 'give us evidence it's yours' and photos of the label etc...

I was told that the age of the pack is now deemed end of life. I was repeatedly told when I bought the pack, even though it wasn't through them and was some years after they allege. I don't know how they know when I bought the pack with so much certainty.

The customer service was in stark contrast to the rhetoric about keeping good gear out of landfill and the Deuter Promise. There was no such sentiment here as I was told to throw it away and buy another one from them.

The Promise only seems to be in effect when they are fishing for good reviews. Once they get this, customer service turns in the opposite direction.

The pack is otherwise perfectly fine, so I'll get it repaired locally as I do care about keeping good gear out of landfill.

Hollow rhetoric from Deuter. I have asked for a manager to respond, but have just been ghosted.

Belle boîte de transport. Facilité pour le retour du sac (airwaybill). Qualité Deuter. Mon mari a son sac depuis 25 ans et il est toujours satisfait de son sac à dos. Manque juste la petite fleur jaune, mais c est un détail :)

Ik kocht een rugzak op de wandel en fiets beurs en kreeg uitstekend advies van jullie medewerkers.

Heel onduurzaam.
Ik ben fan van jullie producten, maar het kleine plastic gespje (3 x 4 x 0.5cm, niet breekbaar) wat ik bestelde werd in een doos ter grote van een grote schoenendoos(!) gevuld met plastic verstuurd. Een outdoor merk heeft hopelijk duurzaamheid centraal staan, en dit past daar echt niet binnen. Hopelijk kan dat in de toekomst echt anders.
