Every aspect of my experience has complemented James Ball’s superlative skills, caring attitude and his investment in unbelievably advanced technology. I attended Custom Vision Clinic for a YAG laser treatment to my left eye earlier this week. I had lens replacement surgery on both eyes some time ago with James Ball and got a fantastic result. More recently, I had developed some “frosting” to my left eye which can sometimes happen with lens replacement surgery. The problem was dealt with expertly and quickly by James and his team at the clinic. I was really pleased to see that all the Covid protocols were in place and religiously adhered to, it gives you great comfort. I am now three days on from my laser treatment and it looks like I have got a great result. Highly recommended, a very personal and professional approach!

I have had Keratoconus for +10 years and had a graft previously with another surgeon in Scotland. When I moved to Yorkshire I never expected to find a surgeon I was comfortable with. But over the last 3 years, James and his whole team have surpassed all my expectations. The standard of care has been exceptional. He always takes the time to explain everything and answer all my questions.

I had lens replacement surgery in both eyes, the left eye initially and the right eye eye one week later. The procedure was painless, helped by the relaxed atmosphere generated by James and the team. I am very pleased with the results and have no need for glasses since the surgery.

After speaking with my optician about lens replacement he advised me to see Mr Ball which is one of the best things I’ve ever done. From the first meeting/consultation through to surgery to the final check up it has been a incredible experience and I felt extremely at ease. Having been advised by my longstanding optician that she could no longer maintain my standard of vision due to deteriorating cataracts especially in my right eye it was time to find someone able to carry out the necessary surgery. James Ball had operated on both my wife and my mother in law in an “earlier existence” so I made the appointment with Custom Vision Clinic.

The initial consultation was thorough and culminated in a discussion with James about the way forward - operations on each eye a week apart. Despite Covid we were able to proceed and 2 swift and painless operations later my shortsightedness was a thing of the past.

You often don’t get what you pay for but in this case you do - a very professional and efficient service throughout

It is difficult to put into words the pure joy of being able to see clearly into the distance without the need for glasses or contact lenses but thanks to James and his team every morning that elation hits me the moment I wake up.

After checking out several eye clinics for lens replacement surgery, l decided to go with custom vision.
I had an in depth consultation with Mr Ball, and decided to have the surgery
Mr Ball did an amazing job replacing the lens to my left eye. I had no pain or soreness. I can now read with out the need for glasses and would definitely recommend the clinic and use them again if needed to

I recently had an ICL surgery performed by Dr Ball. I was very nervous. However, Dr Ball and his team were amazing at reassuring me throughout the procedure. He explained everything so clearly and answered all my questions prior to the surgery. Since meeting Mr. Jack Gormley at Custom Vision Clinic, I felt I was in proffessional, very capable hands with an holistic approach which is exactly what you need when dealing with your sight and health. My problem is Glaucoma, but I have had cataract surgery to help lower the pressure to both eyes at Custom Vision, and now recovering well. On my experience, I would recommend Custom Vision for the cataract surgery.

I was told by my Optician that my eyesight, even with glasses, was very close to the legal limit for driving and I needed cataract surgery.
I was recommended by a friend to contact Custom Vision and consequently arranged an appointment with Mr Gormley
As a result I had the cataract surgery and now, just over a week after surgery, I can see much better that I expected without glasses, and have no worries about losing my driving licence.
Everything from my first appointment to my post surgery appointment has been very professional and I would have no hesitation in recommending Jack to anyone with an eye problem

I must admit I wasn’t looking forward to having my eyes “fiddled” with but I can honestly say that the procedure was surprisingly pain free.
The operation was performed with skill and attention to detail from pre-op through to post-op by Jack and his team.
If any of my friends say they have cataracts then I shall be pointing them in the right direction!
