Today i visited custom vision clinic for treatment with Mr Ball for YAG capsulotomy treatment. The care i received was excellent, quick, painless and comfortable. I am so very grateful for the care that i received today, it has already made such a big difference, thank you so very much.

A very huge thank you to James and his amazing team .From my first visit to last one today I was made to feel completely at ease and in very safe hands no nerves or worries what’s so ever.
Having been a hairdresser for many years it was amazing within 24 hours I was working with no glasses no soreness either , second plus no glasses to squeeze in a small handbag when going out for dinner so I can read menu
Any regrets ,yes just one wish I had had my surgery sooner , a huge thank you again to James and the team .

I first wore glasses aged seven, followed by contact lenses at eighteen. My myopia deteriorated over the years and I also developed cataracts.
By the time I needed surgery my optical prescription was very high. I was extremely anxious that surgery would make my vision worse but it was necessary.
I chose James Ball at Custom Vision Clinic for my operations.
From my initial consultation I felt in safe hands and optimistic for a successful outcome.
The operations were painless and within a week of each operation my eyes had healed.
Thanks to James and his team I have 20/20 vision in both eyes and no longer need glasses or contact lenses.
At the age of seventy four it is like a miracle to open my eyes each morning and be able to see clearly.

About 1 month ago had a cataract treated at the Custom Vision Clinic. I am still amazed with my 'new' vision! The treatment I have received, from first contact, through the initial investigation and the operation itself, to the after-operation care, has been thoroughly professional. Explanations and discussions have been 1st class. I cannot recommend James and the team highly enough.

I recently had a cataract extraction at Custom Vision clinic.
From booking my first appointment to my final check up I found all the staff friendly efficient and professional. The nursing staff and Mr Ball ensured that the actual operation was pain free and I was reassured throughout.
The result of the extraction was amazing no problems.

Excellent follow-up care 2 years after my cataract operation.
2 years ago I was advised by my optician to go to James Ball for my cataract operation because I have kerataconus which could make a normally straightforward operation much more complicated. My experience, just as everyone else’s,
was excellent in every way. The outcome was perfect.
3 days ago I noticed I had almost complete loss of vision in one eye. I was shocked and felt quite pessimistic as I am 76 so felt sure my age must be a factor. When I contacted James he was calm and reassuring and, despite the complications of Covid, he readily agreed to see me as soon as I could get to him. The appointment was at 2.45. At 3.15 I left the clinic having had a 2-minute laser operation and with my sight completely restored. To me and my husband it felt like a miracle.

Because of the worsening Covid situation I was particularly anxious about attending the Clinic because I am very high risk. I needn’t have worried because every precaution had been taken and when my eye was examined I was placed beside a screen which James told me was a special Covid-19 air filter. Amazingly, he now has an operating theatre on his premises so that he can, as far as is possible, avoid disruption to operations during the epidemic.

James Ball was recommended by friends who had previously undergone lens replacement at Custom Vision. I am very pleased that I followed their advice. At the initial consultation I was given a clear explanation of the procedure. Throughout each stage of the process the care was excellent. James Ball and his staff are highly professional, friendly and thorough. They also work hard to put clients at ease. Lens replacement has changed my life and I would recommend Custom Vision for the the procedure without hesitation.

As others have said before me lense replacement has really changed my life. It is now a case of just get up and go. No wearing contact lenses and having to remember to take the emergency spectacles but most of all my eyes are comfortable with perfect vision. My optician gave me the name of 2 clinics near Leeds and reading the reviews I made an appointment with Mr James Ball He and his team were fantastic throughout . My operation had to be delayed because of Covid19 and the team kept in touch with me. To reduce the risk of Covid 19 infection I had surgery on both eyes on the same day. I was surprised how painless the surgery was and also afterwards. I could see quite clearly when I left the hospital but waited 3 days before driving as instructed. I cannot recommend Mr Ball highly enough. He explains everything clearly and is so re-assuring. Meet him and you will understand what I mean. His clinic is a most welcoming place and now Mr Ball has his own theatre there

I have been wearing glasses from being two years old, and contact lenses for the last 36 years.I finally took the plunge to look into new lens replacement My optician put me at ease and recommended Dr James Ball.I went to see Dr Ball and was ecstatic when Dr Ball explained everything to me,and what he was able to do for me to have no contact lenses and glasses.I was very happy with the whole experience at the clinic from all the staff.I had my bad eye done first and I was amazed how quik the surgery was and pain free.Dr Ball was also amazing at keeping me relaxed through the whole operation.I have never been so excited to take my patch of when I got home to see the outcome.Within a couple of hours my eye was amazing I could actually see everything without difficulty what a experience that was finally to be able to see clearly.I have now had my other eye done and I am so happy to be able to see clearly for the first time in my life.If you are like me and have such bad eye sight don't WAIT. In September/October 2020 I had cataract surgery with extended focused lens implementation on both eyes. Following this I can now see my golf ball past 200 yards and I am reading without glasses!
Mr Ball and his staff were courteous and professional, explaining the procedures in detail. I felt very confident during the operations.

My optician recommended that I should go to Mr Ball at the Custom Vision Clinic for my cataract operation and I could not be more pleased I followed his advice. The facilities, including the new operating theatre, are superb. The staff and nurses are understanding, caring, competent and very helpful. Mr Ball is all you can wish for in an opthalmic surgeon. He was very professional, explaining all that would happen and fully answered all my questions. The operation was quick and painless. Mr Ball himself even phoned me the following day to make sure everything was alright, and he gave me his private phone number in case of any problems in the future. I was looking around for a clinic to have lens replacement op on both eye's james ball was recommended by a freind who was highly satisfied with the result of her lens replacement op so glad i took her advice from start to finish its been brilliant can't believe how quickly the operation was done painless and couldn't see a thing dont know what i was worried about and the result is out standing glad to say no more glasses and im over the moon with the result would highly recommend james and the team to anyone.

I was initially very nervous about having eye surgery but was reassured by James Ball and his team who explained the whole procedure to me and allayed my fears. The surgery itself was quick, efficient and painless. Now I no longer need any glasses and my eyes are functioning perfectly. I have no hesitation in recommending Custom Vision Clinic. A real problem solved

I have been extremely happy with the treatment I had from Mr Ball. I had dry, sore itchy eyes for several years and eventually went to Custom Vision Clinic where, under local anaesthetic, Mr Ball removed the concretions that had collected on the inside of my eyelids. I have had this procedure several times, usually annually, and due also to using the night ointment he prescribed I now have no discomfort in my eyes. It has made a tremendous difference to my life and I am most grateful.

Utterly fed up with needing reading glasses for every task I decided to have Laser Eye Surgery. I spent hours researching online considering options, price, location, what was involved and read every review I could find.

After all this effort I visited my optician for a chat and he recommended Custom Vision and James Ball for this procedure. I had seen the Custom Vision website, watched all James’s videos and was extremely impressed.

I had investigated many other companies, read everything they had to say, checked their prices, and looked through as many online reviews as I could find.

Having done all this there was one thing which really stood out to me, and that was Mr James Ball, who I had also checked out. There was no way I was going to let just anyone take a blade to my eyes without a bit of research and after a lot of effort I knew Custom Vision was the place for me because I had bought into James and not just the company.

His worldwide experience, passion and attention to detail was outstanding and I immediately felt he was the only choice. Voted by other Consultants as one of the best in his field in the UK, I knew he was the right choice. Supported by a superb team, Custom Vision gave me everything I wanted and most importantly, piece of mind.

The package was similar in price to elsewhere, but also included any post-op ‘Corrective Surgery’ which may be needed. This only applies to a tiny percentage of patients, but many other providers were a bit vague about this or didn’t even mention it. No hidden extras at Custom Vision, and I also had James’s mobile number, which he said I could ring anytime if I had concerns or needed advice.

If you needed a parachute for a charity jump would you go to the middle aisle in Lidl or Aldi to buy one? Thought not, you’d get the best parachute available.
Eye Surgery is the same - get the best.

The surgery itself was thoroughly explained, so I understood what to expect, and I also watched a YouTube video of the procedure, so knew exactly what to expect, I recommend anyone considering eye surgery does the same. I went for surgery almost nerve free and was out after a few minutes. Very quick, completely painless, and just a few flashing lights in your eyes. A bit like being operated on by aliens probably, but no pain whatsoever.

Best thing I ever did. Just do it and go to Custom Vision for the surgery. Simply the best.

My case was complicated due to previous eye surgery, over 20 years ago. (Radial Keratotomy)
The NHS were reluctant to help me because of the RK and they just fitted mini sclera contact lenses - which didn’t work.
Glasses no longer worked properly either and I was in despair and beginning to lose hope, I even thought that I might go blind!
I knew that James Ball at Custom Vision Clinic dealt with complex cases that required more specialized treatment.
James performed cataract surgery on both eyes in July 2019.
My unaided vision is excellent and I cannot recommend James and his team highly enough.
The Custom Vision Clinic is a state-of-the-art facility and all the staff are very friendly and professional.
It is easy to access - just off the A1 near Wetherby.
