Fui con mi familia de vacaciones a Islandia y alquilamos un coche. El coche tenía muchos kilómetros, no tenía agua para el limpia, las gomas no limpiaban y de forma frecuente el papel de mandos no hacía más dar alarmas. Que ocurrió? Dejo de funcionar en mitad de un desierto de nieve y no se preocuparon lo más mínimo. Tuvimos que llamar a la grúa, y pagarlo. Tuvimos que llamar a un taxi para que nos llevara al aeropuerto . La agencia no se hace responsable del gasto porque según ellos dejamos abandonado el coche. Son unos sin vergüenzas no solo porque no se hacen cargo absolutamente de nada sino también por entregar un coche en esas condiciones

Afgesloten verzekering op internet wordt niet geaccepteerd. Krijgen auto die NIET overeen komt met de huur overeenkomst. Block op Credit Card zo hoog dat je wel een nieuwe verzekering moet afsluiten. Oplichters bende

Worst car rental company I have ever used, I took out car rental including full insurance liability via enjoy travel. When I went to pick up the car they insisted I either paid €55 a day for their insurance or gave them a €2.5k hold to guarantee the condition of the vehicle upon return. The payment wouldn't go through on my credit card the bank blocked it understandably first payment in Iceland being for that much money so he said "no use your debit card", not a chance that was happening as at this point I didn't trust getting the money back. I ended up waiting over an hour to get to sit back down and make the payment and get the car because no one else in the office would deal with us I had to go back to the same person who was not very good or helpful. Upon returning home they have not returned the money, they won't advise why as the vehicle was returned and no issues raised with the condition so I am going to have to go to dispute via the bank to get the money back at this rate, so glad I didn't use my debit card now! The customer service and the way they dealt with customers was an awful system, also trying to get me to pay again for insurance when I already had it I would class as misleading and coercive "well pay us €55 euro per day and you can leave with the car now" "will I get the money back when I return the car and there is no claim needed" "erm no because your paying for insurance" "ah but you see I have already paid for insurance see *show him the insurance document from the company*". My advice is stay way clear of this company, there are plenty of others available I certainly won't touch them with a bargepole again when I'm back.

I'll avoid this company again at all costs. Such a terrible experience.

First - they show up on comparison sites as being available at Keflavik airport. They are not there, they are on an industrial park a 15 minute drive away from the arrivals area. They say they pick you up but we had to wait over 30 minutes before they showed up. I called twice and was told both times the driver was only 15 minutes away (obviously later I realised that this meant they hadn't left yet).

Second - surprise surprise, the package we bought had limited milage! I rent cars a lot and have never even heard of this being a thing. We were limited to 100km per day, but for €35 per day more, it could be unlimited! This would have doubled the cost of the hire. We opted for the €0.35 per km instead and it worked out a little cheaper. Total scam.

Third - the car was pretty awful. It lasted the whole journey but was basic spec, damaged inside and out, and had warning lights on the dash from collection.

I was surprised they didn't try to claim the existing damage was my fault to charge me for it.

Overall it was a very disappointing experience and next time I'll just go to one of the names I know.

Would highly recommend city car rental. Rimas was a pleasure to deal with and car we hired was fantastic no issues was able to drive into the middle of nowhere and see the northern lights. Would use again on next visit to Iceland. Thanks

Attention à votre plafond. De plus l'état des lieux c'est fait à la va vite le soir, dans le noir. Ils nous ont pressé .
J'étais sûre d'avoir coché le km illimité,mais surprise en fait limité à 900. Donc 350€ de plus car on a bien évidemment dépassé. Et puis surprise un petit éclat sur le pare brise. Sachant qu'on est persuadé qu'il y été avant. De plus sur leur photo on voit bien une tâche mais pour eux c'est de la saleté... Malhonnête de dépouiller les gens comme ça. En plus on parle pas anglais,ils nous ont vu arriver de loin. Donc pour la maudite somme de 1350 e pour l'éclat...une honte. Et si on refusait de payer, ils nous emmenait pas à l'aéroport. Sachant que notre vol était deux heures après. Prise par le temps..
En espérant que l'assurance prise avec la voiture fasse le remboursement mais j'en doute fortement.
De plus un couple quelques heures avant nous ont eu le même problème.. ATTENTION
Bref. Entreprise à fuir. Faites bien le tour prenez des vidéos...

Men afhentning i lufthavnen kiksede totalt.

Trods flynummer fangede de ikke, at vi var mange timer forsinket, og der var ingen afhentning i lufthavnen.

Telefonnummeret gik bare på svarer. Og jeg måtte få fat i deres nødhjælp, der desværre ikke kune hjælpe.

Det kostede så en taxa fra lufthavnen og til hotellet, en udgift større end bil lejen i hele opholdet.

Vi fik bilen inde i Reykjavik næste morgen, hvor undskyldningen var, at de ikke havde fly nummeret. Det stod dog i den mail, jeg havde som bekræftelse.

Afleveringen skulle ske mandag morgen kl 5 tæt på lufthavnen.

Nu havde jeg sikret mig, at de havde fly nummeret, det så jeg, medarbejderen skrev ned.

En udsættelse sf afgangen med nogle timer gjorde, at vi så først afleverede en time senere end aftalt ( men tidligere end betalt til) og endnu en gang gad de åbenbart ikke anvende de oplyste fly numre.

Vi måtte defor vente på sidste transport til lufthavnen, fordi de troede vi var kommet tidligere.

Vi nåede det hele, men det blev en dyr bil leje og jeg kan ikke anbefale dem, da de ikke har kontor i lufthavnen og ikke kan finde ud af at tjekke ankomsttider.

Pour la caution Ne prennent pas la carte débit mais carte de crédit qui dans d’autres pays ne poses pas de problèmes, on se doit de souscrire alors à une assurance en plus fort élevées … heureusement que j’avais ma carte pro qui peut faire office de carte de crédit! J’ai vu d’autres personnes quand à eux ne pas avoir cette chance et devoir débourser une somme importante.
Ensuite, l’histoire du kilométrage, limité à 700 et pour d’autre client 500!! Or en Islande compliquer de faire même sur une semaine 700 km si on veut visiter un maximum d’endroits. Du coup ça sera 0,35 par km de plus. En plus de la location Je devais payer 450€ en plus mais une “gentil” reduction ma été faite, ramenant le prix à 315€.
Je rajoute un gros défaut de parallélisme, une boîte de vitesse horrible, au bout de 3 jours plus de liquide lave glace , une voiture à 223000 km. Il est précisé que si des choses nous conviennent pas ils peuvent nous dépanner or quand vous êtes à 300 km compliquer et surtout nous ne souhaitons pas ralentir notre beau voyage pour des pertes de temps qui aurait pu être éviter si une voiture en bonne état nous avait été fourni.
Conclusion, 283€ la location c’est très intéressant mais avec 315€ de km dépasser en plus ça les moins. Au final j’aurais pu louer dans une autre compagnie plus chère et avoir une voiture de haut de gammes avec 600€ Et un km illimité !
Ils seraient gentil de préciser plus explicitement aux étrangers qu’il faut une CREDiT CARD!!
Agence a fuir si vous voulez éviter des frais d’argent important en plus !

One reason made our experience with City Car Rental great -- and his name is Rimas! Such a pleasure to work with, he really made our car experience the best it could have been.

I ordered/reserved a 7 seat Landcruiser and they gave me a Rav 4
- the instructions were delivered for Rav 4 emphasized the gas used was petrol.
Then they were able to switch the Rav 4 for a Landcruiser later on that day so my family and luggage could fit in all or our travels
- however I got a 5 seat Landcruiser and not a 7 seater like I reserved
- we made it work
During the car switch no further directions were given
—-> as a result we specifically looked for petrol to fill it up.
- but the landcruiser takes diesel (no one communicated this)
Due to lack of communication I had to call roadside assistance and spend an addition **$640** for them to meet us 2 hours away.
- they cyphened the petrol out and gave us a 1/2 tank of diesel.
- lost 4+ hours due to car hassle

They will not compensate for any of my troubles, do not waste your time for this "wham bam thank you service" - They could care less about your experience.

Worn out poorly maintained cars
You are forced into taking their extra high cost insurance or deposit £2700 with them (the car isn’t worth that!)
Then you can only drive 100km a day before you pay 35c€ a km excess charge it’s licences theft avoid these guys like the plague!

Easy check in and check out service. Staff are friendly and accommodating. We hired a Toyota Landcruiser for our trip and it was perfect for the 6 of us to drive around in for the week. When arriving in the airport be sure to wait at the information desk for pickup, there are a few different rental shuttle buses so be sure you see the correct company on the sign they are holding.

We rented a Toyota land cruiser for 6 of us for 4 days. We were able to pick it up fairly quickly. It was in decent condition and was very comfortable and reliable while we toured the country. The company was flexible with when we could drop off the car and took us promptly back to the airport. Drop off took less than 10 mins.

Very bad experience. Never wrote a review after hiring a car, until now (and I'm not the only one...should have read these reviews before). First of all the car: 1. No screw jack. When on gravel roads in Iceland sth happens, I think it would be good to have this instead of waiting for hours and maybe even have no signal to call for help. We had a flat tire.. 2. Very poor windshields (dangerous).
3. Hand break didn't work (!?!). 4. Very old car, lot's of km, lot's of damage and dents. Seats were wet at the start. Had a continuous feeling of 'hope we get there'. 5. When gassed up it didn't show full on the fuel gauge.
AND: thought it was unlimited mileage (my mistake, should have seen that), but when you're sitting there going through the contract and telling them about your journey that would be approx 4000 km then it would be good that they tell you that we had only 1200 km in the contract. Had to pay an additional € 900 (!!!!) when I brought the car back making the total € 2240 for just 12 days!! Of course asked them to maybe reimburse a part, but no. Nothing. And not for a sec putting themselves in the clients' shoes. Told them that a negative review can be more expensive at the end than reimburse me a small part. Never been so disappointed after renting a car (and I've rented a lot).

Havde dårlig oplevelse med proceduren for afhentning i lufthavnen og med håndteringen af betalingen.
Udover at afhentningsproceduren virker rodet i forhold til andre aktører, som afhenter personligt, kommer det også overraskende, at transporten kun omfatter 1 person, mens resten skal afvente i lufthavnen. Netop denne opdeling fik store konsekvenser for mig. Jeg fik ekstraregning på ekstraforsikring på mere end 300 Euro, fordi jeg kun kunne fremvise et kreditkort debit. Såfremt min hustru også var bragt fra lufthavnen, kunne lejeaftalen være ændret til hende som primær chauffør og vi kunne have brugt hendes kreditkort credit. Det er for dårligt, vi fratages den mulighed og på den baggrund, kan jeg ikke anbefale at gøre brug af firmaet.
