Luke, Nick and Daniel completed the removal of my three bed house on Friday January 10th 2025 to my new home 12 miles away.
Three really lovely, kind and hard working people. They took the stress out of the day. Things went very smoothly despite the sub zero temperatures.
Luke led the team. Everything was loaded with care and unloaded equally so. Luke asked where the furniture was to go. A switcheroo was needed at times and he was patient and so kind. The guys helped me figure out where to put things.
They were consummate professionals, clearly very experienced in logistics and providing a first rate customer experience.
I am so grateful to them and the company.

Chelmsford Removals were £300 cheaper than the first quote I obtained from another company.

Micheal did our packing very polite, friendly and professional. Micheal and Jamie came in 2 Vans to load and unload. Again they were both very polite, friendly professional and hardworking. They made a stressful occasion so much easier. I would definitely recommend this company. The admin also went out there way to fit us into a busy schedule . So thankyou to all involved.

First class service from the office team and great professionalism from the packing and removal team. nothing broken or missing. They also offer a disposal service which was necessary for us as we were downsizing from 5 to 3 beds. Andy, Steve G, Terry and the Office staff all worked together to make our move with occur with such ease. All were very helpful and understanding during what is indeed the most stressful part of buying a new property. So thank you one and all.

Terry and his team came that day. It started alright but then they didn't protect the floor when they moved our TV cabinet and caused a scratch on the floor. After we shared this with them, that's when their service got even worse - they ordered us, as customers, to move the furnitures and the boxes, and even made fun of us a few times of not working out often, so not having enough strength to moving things around. When I wanted to get something from my luggage (just some food for my cat as the move lasted for more than 5-6 hours), Terry yelled at me to stop touching my belonging as it was put there for the right reason. I felt so much disrespected and insulted as a person, let alone as a paying customer.

I regretted so much of paying almost £1300 to them just to be treated like that, that's the worst moving company I have used so far in my life.

We thought we were paying a premium for better service even though their quote was not the most competitive, but we were deeply disappointed. I am sure there are more professional moving companies out there at this price.

Excellent choice when moving house. We all know how stressful it is to move, The team were on time, dealt with everything, all we have to do was make tea and coffee.

I'm a vicar, and we've just moved from one vicarage to another with a lot of books and a family. We couldn't have chosen a better firm to make the move with.
Moving is never easy, and so when we were recommended Chelmsford Removals by a friend we took up their recommendation. We didn't regret it. Right from the initial meeting and discussion about the move through to the final day when they said farewell, they were brilliant and friendly, going beyond the call to make sure everything went well. Perhaps that's because, unlike some other companies, they only use their own trained staff rather than hiring in untrained daily labour which may have less interest in the happiness of the client.
As well as the move, we asked them to pack for us. Things were carefully disassembled and reassembled in the new vicarage - nothing was too much trouble; when we changed our mind about which room a piece of furniture should go in, they swapped the furniture around without the blink of an eye. And, on top of all that, having got several quotations from different companies, Chelmsford Removals were the cheapest of all the accredited BAR companies.

The move was from Chelmsford. We had a team of five with 2 vans. They were all amazing! The move was stress free as the lads did all the heavy lifting, they also took my favourite plants which made it so much easier to settle to a new environment.

Tim and Dan were great today. The turned up 10 minutes early and managed to get parked in difficult surroundings. They explained how things would work and just cracked on. At all times they made us aware of any potential issues and always made sure we were happy with what they were doing. They provided carpet care and item support and cover and also took extra items that weren't on the inventory list that really helped. Once everything was loaded up we met them about 30 minutes later at the new address and they got to work. The house we were moving into is a new build and they took extra care with laying carpet protection and guided heavy and awkward bits of furniture in very carefully. They even assembled/disassembled our ottoman bed in no time at all. All in all we were very happy with how things went. It was our first time using a remote al service like this and I think we'd happily use these guys again such was the outstanding job they did. Polite, friendly and positive, is just what is needed with the stress of moving home. Thanks to the company for having sent us Tim and Dan. Great chaps.

The service provided by Chelmsford Removals is second to none. They are prompt, organised, amenable and would do anything to ensure a safe and organised move. We also paid for the packing service and I’m glad we did because it saved us so much time - well worth it. I thoroughly recommend this and everything else they have to offer!

A Disappointing Experience with Chelmsford Removals

I hired Chelmsford Removals for a two-part service involving a removal and the reassembly of a large wardrobe, and was charged £689. Expecting a professional service, I was assured by the company that their team was highly qualified. However, the experience was anything but professional.

From the start, the dismantling of our wardrobe was mishandled, leading to a chaotic and stressful situation at our new property. One team member, left to manage the wardrobe assembly alone, clearly struggled with the task.

The wardrobe, which was in perfect condition prior to the move, was subject to such poor handling that my son and I ended up assisting with the unloading to speed things up.

The process was fraught with issues: loud banging from improper tool use, a lack of coordination, and visible struggle were just the beginning. It culminated in the wardrobe being left in a state of absolute disrepair—misassembled and damaged.

When we reported the issue, Chelmsford Removals defensively claimed the wardrobe was already damaged, contradicting the evidence we provided from the move day.

Further, when we requested a written statement clarifying the alleged pre-existing damages, all we received was an offensive offer of £50 as a "gesture of goodwill." This response was not only inadequate but also dismissive of the significant inconvenience and cost their service has caused us.

WARNING …!” Read their terms and conditions “Exclusions of liability” specially clause (11.3) and (11.3.15) there are misleading. They do not disclose this in their website or when they visit you at home to quote, which is clearly against the CONSUMER RIGHTS ACT 2015.

This experience has been frustrating and costly. The lack of professionalism and skill promised by Chelmsford Removals turned what should have been a straightforward move into a nightmare.

I cannot recommend their services based on our experience, and we caution potential customers to consider other more reliable removal services.
