Make errors then you have to pay for their mistake

Car planet made an error on our v5c which i have had to pay to rectify the error. Was told by car planet i would receive reimbursement if i send in proof which i did. I have made several calls & emails to them to just be ignored and out of pocket. Once you get the car from them they just leave you hanging and want nothing to do with you

Consider carefully before buying from car planet

Initially buying the car was reasonably pleasant, the staff member was pleasant and accommodating allowing us time to view various cars. On purchasing the car it is very obvious that the real money is made on the aftermarket warranties, paint protection, etc.
Initially I said I would pick the car up the following weekend. However it was month end and targets had to be met so I was offered free delivery. Fine, no problem, we live on the opposite side of London. Up until I paid the invoice staff were easy to get hold of.
Come the day of delivery phones were either not answered, or if they were a call back was promised and never happened.
By 6pm we'd given up hope of seeing the car. We even considered trekking over there to try to claim the car.
6.45pm and we receive a call asking if we were someone else. Eventually we sorted out that they were delivering the car and it was the right one. The car did arrive safely with a pleasant driver and all was OK.
So far the car seems fine. It was washed, but not very well.
The whole experience was stressful and took the shine off getting a new car.
Hopefully, considering this experience and the numerous complaints we have since read, we never have to deal with their aftersales department and this is the last time we'll have to deal with them. They've learnt well from CarGiant

Disgraceful!

Disgraceful!
This company took a deposit for a car that they knew was to be registered to a company. On my company reading their digital receipt terms and conditions, they noticed that they were not allowed to register any cars sold to anyone other than an individual. My company pulled out of the sale due to these terms and conditions, and Maz, the manager I spoke to on the phone, confirmed the deposit would be back in our account within the next 3 days. Despite numerous emails and phone calls, this money has still not been returned, the deposit should never have been taken. Do not trust anyone in this company, you will be treated like royalty initially, once you part with any money, do not expect to ever speak or hear from any of them again. This company take money fraudulently

Avoid Car Planet

Avoid Car Planet — one of the worst customer experiences I’ve ever had.
I bought a car from Car Planet on 15 June, and after reaching home, I discovered the central locking didn’t even work. I immediately returned the car the next day expecting them to take responsibility, but instead I have been met with complete silence.
Since then, there have been no updates, no phone calls, no emails, and absolutely no effort from the after-sales team. I requested a refund and yet again I was ignored. They have my hard-earned money, and I’m the one left chasing them for answers.
Selling a faulty vehicle is bad enough, but the way they have handled this afterwards is completely unacceptable. I have two children and need a reliable car for everyday life, including school pick-ups, but Car Planet seem to have no understanding or concern for the stress and inconvenience they have caused.
A company’s true character shows when there is a problem — and Car Planet have shown a complete lack of professionalism, communication, and customer care. Once they had my money, the support disappeared.
I would strongly advise anyone thinking of buying from them to think twice. A car purchase is a big decision, and you need a company that actually stands behind what they sell — not one that ignores you when things go wrong.

AVOID AVOID AVOID

Thought it went smoothly at the time. But after care when you have a problem is non existent. You have to come and wait for hours for anyone to help, then they all patronise and say they’ll help and take HOURS. Avoid avoid avoid

Car Planet dragging heels despite notice of Rejection upheld by finence company

Four weeks ago the finance company upheld my son’s 30- day rejection after he was sold a car by Car Planet Watford with multiple issues, including a massive hole in the sill. He was told Car Planet would be in touch to arrange collection of the vehicle so the winding down of the finance agreement could be completed. However, Car Planet have so far failed to provide a date for the vehicle to be collected. Terrible customer service. Clearly dragging their heels now. Shocking and should be avoided.

i went to car planet as a first time…

i went to car planet as a first time buyer and was very pleased by the service i received from Harrison he was amazing and helpful throughout the whole process and i waled away with the car i wanted for a good price and Harrison made it is main thought to help me with my buying process i would definitely go back there if i needed anything else

BAD ASSISTANCE


Very disappointing experience from start to finish.
I purchased the car and had to return after around 2 weeks to get several issues fixed. I ended up waiting on site for about 8 hours, with very poor communication throughout the whole day and no clear explanation of what work was actually being carried out or completed.
The driver’s seat had a bolt/movement issue, 1 tyre was nearly flat, there was no air conditioning working properly, and the windscreen washer fluid was empty. These are basic checks that should have been done before handing the car over.
What makes it worse is the lack of proper communication after the sale. They respond quickly on trustpilot ,but emails are ignored for months, which leaves you constantly chasing them for answers.
Overall, the experience has been frustrating and stressful. There is no transparency, no consistency, and no real customer support once the sale is completed. I would not recommend.
Not recommended.

Broken gearbox - no refund.

Sold me a car and the gearbox entered emergency mode within 200miles. Had the fault diagnosed by a VW specialist and requested repair by CarPlanet.

Terrible customer service - admitted liability on the phone, refuse to put it in writing, take days and weeks to respond, seek to do everything they can to delay or avoid a refund or repair. I am now seeking to return the car to them under the Consumer Rights Act but they are delaying in every way possible. I will be taking them to Court.

You are rolling the dice if you buy a car here - their ‘150-point check’ is utter nonsense - do not let them tell you they have any idea of the mechanical state of the vehicle.

Their model is to move cars quickly and take commission on hugely inflated RAC warranty packages so that it’s not their problem when the car breaks.

100% do NOT recommend.

The salesman sold me an rac warranty…

The salesman sold me an rac warranty that starts in 3 year time saying that is needed. Car Planet did not make any payment to RAC and are refusing to give me a refund. Starting court proceedings.
Updated to answer car planet response:
1. I've emailed you twice- you did not bother to reply , the answer was your reply below.
2. The car has a manufacturing warranty until 2029. I've specifically told your salesman that I'm not keeping the car more than 3 year, yet he went ahead to say that the rac warranty starts from August 2025! Instead of 2029!
3 . Do you think its ethical correct to keep my money until 2029? Because you haven't made the payment to Assurant/ RAC! And you are refusing to give me a refund. Where are you keeping the money if you didn't pay RAC? Are you a bank? Building society?

Our records show that you purchased the vehicle and the RAC warranty in **August 2025**. Any optional warranty product is subject to a **14-day cooling-off period**, during which it can be cancelled for a refund. Unfortunately, as your request was made well outside of this cancellation period, we are unable to cancel the policy or provide a refund.

The start date and duration of the warranty are set out within the warranty documentation provided at the time of purchase. These terms are not something that can be amended retrospectively after the cooling-off period has expired.

Should you have any further questions regarding your warranty, we remain happy to discuss them with you.

Only gave us only one key that was faulty

Only gave us one key that was faulty. Broke down multiple times because car didn’t work without key. Changed battery a few times in the key but to no avail. We have to buy 2x vw keys. They couldn’t help us or offer a discount. Said was sold as seen and they can’t locate the first key because they had bought the car at auction. The keys are £500 each so it has cost us an extra grand

How incredibly wrong we were about this…

How incredibly wrong we were about this car dealership. After 8 days our car broke down , after another week of trying get them to pick it up for repairs , they delayed . We then said we wanted a full refund and for the car to be picked up. They have picked the car up and are now refusing a refund , we have an independent RAC report on what is wrong with the car and it was within the 30 days . Hours and hours sat on hold trying to talk with someone in the after sales department to be fobbed off , being told we will get a refund and then radio silence until we make contact again , where we are told they are short staffed and havent granted the refund yet ( after being told the week before that they accept we have asked for a refund and will be processing it ) even after being told multiple times that we want our money back, they have tried to push us to take the car back instead . I have now been left without a car for nearly a month , 2 small children ,a chronic autoimmune disease and no money to be able to buy another car
