Excellent Product
Excellent Product. I got this after noticing drivers were concentrating less in modern cars and because I ride a bike with quite a low (in terms of position) brake light.
It is a really well made robust quality product. The leds are quite multi directional. The brightness levels look like they have been well researched and it fits well on my helmet. The functions are easy to understand and use. Support this small company and buy this.

Superb service. A bulk shipping delay outside of the control of Brake Free delayed the product import into Europe. I received updates and was refunded postage as a goodwill gesture. Communications were professional and friendly.

My brake lights and indicators on my CE04 are rather low. With Brakefree I'm much more visible in heavy traffic in Brusels when I slow down.

Had to buy another helmet so it would…
Had to buy another helmet so it would fit.( my fault). But brilliant product. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Just waiting to ask the local plod on their thoughts. As it is not attached to the bike then in this country it could be deemed as illegal. Watch this space. I will still continue to use it anyway as I think it is a superb product.

You’re absolutely right to raise the legal question—since Brake Free isn’t wired to the bike and functions autonomously, it’s generally considered a helmet accessory with legal considerations similar to riding/wearing with reflective patches or hi-vis yellow colors, –rather than a vehicle modification. But it’s always good to check locally.

100% worth the purchase
Even from the first ride you can tell the cars behind you are responding to it. They actually see a flashlight light and they pay more attention. They keep larger distance. 4/5 stars because i would love to see a secure lock mechanism of some kind because if you wear a hoodie with a large backpack and happen to brake hard and the backpack shifts it could take it out. For 230€ i would expect something more secure. Again worst case scenario but it can happen.

Dank voor je reactie en het vertrouwen in Brake Free. Je hebt helemaal gelijk dat de levering in jouw geval veel te lang op zich heeft laten wachten – en daarvoor mijn oprechte excuses.
Rond het moment van jouw bestelling was ik druk bezig met het verwerken van circa 300 pre-orders. Hoewel het leek alsof de mounts op voorraad waren, liep de levering helaas meerdere keren vertraging op. Daardoor ontstond onduidelijkheid, en dat is volledig mijn verantwoordelijkheid.
In tegenstelling tot wat vaak gedacht wordt, wordt Brake Free Tech EU volledig door mijzelf aangestuurd. Geen groot bedrijf, maar een passieproject om de veiligheid van motorrijders in de EU te verbeteren. Juist daarom waardeer ik het des te meer dat je je ervaring hebt gedeeld –ook al was het met een kritische noot, die ik volledig begrijp.
Ik hoop dat het Brake Free remlicht zelf alsnog dagelijks bijdraagt aan jouw veiligheid én rijplezier. Mocht je vragen hebben of ergens mee zitten, weet dat je me altijd mag benaderen.

This brake light is fantastic. Easy to install and works without any external cables or sensors. It also looks great on the helmet. Shipping was fast, and the entire purchase process was transparent, with constant status updates via email. A very trustworthy company; I'm happy to shop here.

Verkoper perfect, maar product niet goed
Het kopen van de Brake Free verliep vlekkeloos. Ik kon het product ophalen, en ter plekke werd de bevestiging op mijn helm gemonteerd. Alles verliep zeer geduldig en leuk. Groot compliment!
De Brake Free zelf valt mij echter tegen. Niet alleen bij het verminderen van snelheid, maar ook bij het optrekken en tijdens het rijden gaat de verlichting knipperen. Ook werd mij de belofte gedaan dat automobilisten meer afstand zouden houden hiermee, vooral bij stoplichten, maar dat is geenszins het geval. Het product is leuk als extra verlichting, maar daar zijn vele malen goedkopere opties voor. Ik raad de Brake Free niet aan.
**Update 7 april**
Zeer snel reageerde João, en na nog wat testen van mijn kant, belde João mij en bood aan bij mij langs te komen om zelf te testen en om te ruilen. Tijdens een bakkie koffie heeft hijzelf ook wat testen gedaan, en kwam tot dezelfde conclusie: hij is wel heel erg gevoelig. Dus omgeruild. Een paar dagen daarna is de nieuwe door een achterrijder veelvuldig gecontroleerd tijdens de tocht van 220 km., en deze nieuwe werkt perfect!
Ik ben João dankbaar voor zijn service, en ben nu erg blij met de extra zichtbaarheid door de Brake Free. Aan iedere motorrijder van harte aanbevolen!

Hi Sandy, bedankt voor je lovende woorden over de persoonlijke afhandeling en montage maar ik schrik nogal van de ontevredenheid omtrent de werking van het Brake Free remlicht. Ik vermoed dat er misschien ergens iets mbt de sensors niet goed gaat en het remlicht daarom gereset moet worden (houdt hiervoor de aan/uit knop 15 seconden lang ingedrukt en leg de helm 30 seconden op een vlakke ondergrond), of dat de unit misschien gwn niet goed is. Dat laatste komt niet vaak voor maar is lastig om zo op afstand uit te sluiten. In elke geval ruil ik de unit met alle liefde om als die niet goed is en mocht je er echt ontzettend ontevreden over zijn dan neem ik hem evengoed gewoon terug, het is dat ik me namelijk echt niet kan verplaatsen in de ronduit slechte ervaring die je nu met het product ondervindt.
Echter omdat je het product hebt opgehaald heb ik totaal geen contact gegevens van je zou je mij in dat geval kunnen bellen, appen of wat dan ook? Mijn nummer staat op de site en de bon die je hebt gehad. Ontzettend veel dank alvast! Met vriendelijke groet, João // Brake Free Tech
