Just received my first box and I had the meat and potato pie , my other half had the pastie , absolutely delicious, can’t wait to taste the rest I ordered, pastry is lovely smell divine while cooking definitely ordering again going to try the steak puddings next , thank you keep up the good work .

Pork Pies Quality Issue
Normally I buy every weekend pork and whist pies from Bowens, put a few weeks ago after buying 4 pork pies I noticed when I got home that the pastry was like rubber and when I took a bite of the pie there was a strange smell. All four pork pies were the same and had to be thrown out. However the whist pies were excellent as normal.

I have been on a quest for quite a…
I have been on a quest for quite a while now to find a pie company that can produce a pie I enjoy! I ordered a selection from Bowen pies to try. I did find the individual pork pie a little bland but I should have ordered a family size one to try. However, the cheese and onion slice was sublime. The meat and potato pie was delicious even though I’ve never tried them before and tonight we had the chunky steak pie and again we were very impressed. I for once will be ordering a second batch and will be inviting my family to try them as well. We are looking forward to our next batch delivery.

First time buyer
Unfortunately was admitted ro hospital when delivery was made. They were taken in by my neighbour and frozen. Have only tried meat and potatoe which was of decent quality

Unfortunately DPD (delivery) are not !
Parcel arrived and the pies were warm they had defrosted and started to heat inside the foil packaging.
I received an immediate refund from Bowen pies .
I've had many problems with DPD they don't take care with parcels .

As we chatted about over the phone on the day of delivery, your pies arrived on the delivery date you selected at checkout. They were packed, as always, in our temperature controlled boxes designed and tested to keep everything safely chilled for up to 48 hours in transit (even in warmer weather). They arrived in 27 hours from leaving our bakery fridges.
I understand that you were expecting the pies to arrive frozen, but just to clarify, our pies are always sent fresh and chilled, not frozen. They’re baked to order, packed with care and the insulation and cool packs in each box are there to keep them safe, not icy.
That said, we always want our customers to feel 100% confident in what they receive from us, which is why we were more than happy to offer you either a free resend or a full refund. Thank you again for your order and your feedback. I hope we get the chance to bake for you again.

A bit disappointing after reading the reviews on their site.
Potato and meat pie was really good, the steak puddings were fine but the steak pies were so salty we couldn't finish them, I don't believe anyone would make a pie with so much salt in it so I can only assume there was a mistake made. One thing I have an issue with is that on their website they ask for reviews, I gave the potato and meat pie 5 stars and the review went up instantly but when I gave the steak pie 2 stars the review wasn't put up at all so it looks like they only post 4 and 5 star reviews.
Edit:- Thanks for the reply and explanation, it's quite apparent there was a bit of a mistake as another review mentions the saltiness, it is also clear that you value your customers so I have added another star. The refund wasn't necessary so I have donated it to Derian House.

Just to reassure you, we have now issued a full refund for the Chunky steak pies. While we wish you’d contacted us directly so we could resolve things sooner, we completely understand your disappointment, and we’re grateful you’ve brought this to our attention.
Regarding your website review- we don’t filter feedback unfairly. Our system automatically publishes 4 and 5 star verified reviews, but anything lower is manually moderated (just to make sure it’s genuine), and unfortunately we’re not notified when they’re submitted, which caused a delay in it appearing. We've since published your review, because transparency matters to us.
