The bodysuit I ordered arrived with a very obvious stain on the crotch area - disgusting. After implying it was my fault ("It looks like this must have happened after you opened the package") they eventually agreed to refund me, which took three weeks. However, they did not refund the delivery or return costs, which were £28, in spite of asking them to and providing receipts. Also in the UK, you pay VAT and customs duty of £57, so wow... I'm out of pocket by £85 for someone else's crotch stain.

To top it all off? The quality is so poor for the price! Very thin material, poor stitching. Absolutely shocking.

I'm writing this review over a year after my experience, as I see that this company is still sending its customers shoddy, cheap items at a premium price.

I ordered the Mirror dress in silver in early 2023, for my birthday. I messaged them on their Etsy in order to see if it would arrive in time. I received no response, but as I'm located in Sweden and their website stated that shipping would arrive in plenty of time, I placed my order on their website. The dress arrived the day of the my birthday, nearly missing it all together.

The problems increased when the item arrived.

The construction and quality of the item was worse than in fast fashion, but with a price tag where one expects to be able to wear the item at least once without issues.

- Every single sequin was shoddily glued on, and was already shedding by the time I took it out of the package. I spent hours of my own time attempting to sew the sequins on to properly attach them. I got through a fraction of them.

- If these are handmade, they're made by people who don't know how, or refuse, to hem or properly cut the printed, stretchy material that reveals itself as the glued sequins fall off.

- It was embarrassing to have the dress shedding at least 2-5 of the large sequins every time I sat, walked, hugged or touched anything. I also felt like I was littering.

In the year and a half of owning the dress, despite multiple occasions that would allow me to wear it, I've worn it only twice due to the quality issues.

I will never order from this company again, and I wish I'd seen these reviews before I ordered.

The quality of the dress I bought (the Metallic party dress) was more akin to buying something from AliExpress or Shein. The sequins were glued on, and within an hour of putting the dress on, before I even left the house, the sequins were rubbing off. I have no idea how this company purports to make clothing for raves and dancing, when you would be sweating, dancing, and brushing up against people, when the outfits start falling apart the minute you put them on without any vigorous movement. You would think for £180!!! (plus more for customs charges outside of the EU) that the sequins would be sewn on. The sequins that did stay glued on started losing their colour, so everything else I was wearing is now covered in pink, and the remaining sequins on the dress are half silver.

I reached out to customer service who just replied with “the dresses are delicate as stated on the website” and offered to send some more sequins, I assume for me to pluck off each remaining sequin and hand glue back on myself? If I wanted to create my own DIY outfit I could have done the same thing for a lot cheaper in the first place. I regret not just buying one of the many cheaper knock off alternatives - I expect they are the exact same quality.

This is still not yet resolved and customer service will also go days without responding to me. Overall I have found Born in Stockholm very rude and hard to deal with. I will add that I was unaware of the additional customs charges that would be levied outside of the EU (my fault I guess) but when I queried with Born in Stockholm as I wasn’t expecting an additional £60 charge on top of my already very expensive dress they repeatedly (and rudely) told me it was my governments fault. I’m not from Europe or the UK at all, and have just recently moved here so I haven’t followed Brexit or any of the consequences, so no idea why they think that this is somehow mine or my governments fault - in any case, they were going to charge me an outrageous over £60 fee if I did not pay the customs fee of over £60 and caused the item to be returned, so I figured I would just pay it and enjoy one of the most expensive dresses I’ve ever bought.

However it was then terrible quality after all that. Cannot in good conscience recommend this company.

I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience with Born in Stockholm that I feel compelled to share, hoping to warn others (especially customers, like me, who are based outside the EU) about the appalling service I received. This was my first concert experience, and I spent a lot of time researching to find a high-quality and unique concert outfit. It was also quite expensive, which made the outcome even more disappointing.

Order Delays and Miscommunication
I placed an order with Born in Stockholm about a month before my event, anticipating delivery within the 7-14 days as promised. However, my order arrived a shocking 5 weeks and 2 days later! This egregious delay meant that the item I ordered arrived after the event I'd bought it for and was rendered useless by the time it finally arrived. As someone who doesn't frequently attend concerts, raves or festivals, I have no occasion to wear this.

Lack of Transparency
Despite multiple attempts to cancel the order due to their failure to meet the delivery timeframe, I was met with resistance and excuses. Born in Stockholm claimed that my order was a "back order," which was allegedly indicated on their website and in the shopping terms. However, I found no such indication on my receipt or during the checkout process.

Inadequate Customer Service and Refusal to Cancel Order
Throughout this ordeal, I had to reach out to customer service repeatedly. Initially, I was offered the option to switch to a different color, but there was no concrete solution to ensure timely delivery. When it became clear that the outfit wouldn't arrive in time, I requested a refund. Unfortunately, their response was dismissive and unhelpful, insisting on store credit or an exchange instead of a refund, even though the fault was entirely theirs.

Even after explaining that the item would no longer serve its purpose, Born in Stockholm refused to cancel the order, stating that they do not cancel orders once processed. This rigid policy is highly inconvenient and unfair to customers, especially when the company fails to deliver on their promises.

Thankfully, my credit card credit the amount to my account so I am okay in the end, but I wanted to warn others to stay away from this company.

TL;DR
Avoid Born in Stockholm at all costs. They failed to meet their delivery promises, offered poor communication, and provided unhelpful customer service. Save yourself the hassle, stress, and disappointment – look elsewhere for your rave/concert/festival needs.

I ordered an outfit (the Juliana sequin bodysuit) from there for my friend as a gift to wear to a festival. She had been watching it online and wanting it for so long!

The bodysuit cost more than $200 even after the discount and for that price I would expect quality. What we received was so disappointing. The worst part was the skirt portion has this thick elastic band at the top that the sequins are attached to that is not shown in any of the pictures. After some investigation and contact with the company, I figured out that for the photos they’ve put the skirt inside out to hide this elastic. In real life wearing the skirt inside out looks silly as it doesn’t have any sequins attached on the inside (which you can see if you look closely at the photos on the website). It just has this mesh that should obviously be hidden.

So I contacted the company and told them I would like a refund because the item is not as described on the website, and they responded and said to return it. Then AFTER I posted the item back to Stockholm at my own expense (from Australia) they told me they would only give me a store credit. Of course I don’t want any more of their overpriced merchandise.

Really, just don’t bother.

I gave 5 star to them a year ago - I had to find a jumpsuit for my competition in the last minute so I contacted them via insta and got really quick replies - so I travelled to Stockholm from Oslo to get the jumpsuit I needed. The ladies jn the store were super kind and I fell in love with many jumpsuits.

The jumpsuit I bought was not a super great quality just like the others but I also think many clothes looked good enough. I used the jumpsuit for an aerial hoop competition containing rolls both on the hoop itself and on the floor. During the practice and the competition I hadn't actually loose many of the beads etc. From the jumpsuit even though it got lots of impact. All in all I was quite satisfied and I promised to myself to buy more from them as I had quite a good experience.

However, a couple of months ago I contacted them on insta - in the beginning they were super helpful as always - then when I asked why I still need to pay shipping cost when I actually wanna get the order from their store, suddenly they disappeared... I have sent them many followup mails as I wanted to use the 20% off - which of course, i couldn't by the end as I didn't want to order before getting an answer from them...
They always post stories etc, but never even opened my messages anymore...

So from 5 star my experience with this company went down to 1 within a year.....

I just ordered the Taylor bodysuit (for the Eras concert) and it came to Canada super quick- and it is absolutely stunning! It fits perfect and I can’t wait to wear it!

Fin butik och mycket fina grejer. Verkligen en eloge! MEN, det är lite mycket lek med limpistol vilket gör att kvalitén inte är helt toppen. Ser proffsigt ut på hemsidan med proffsiga bilder, men paljetter etc ramlar väldigt enkelt av från kläderna tyvärr. Börja sy fast dom eller hitta ett kraftigare lim.
