No online contact and will never answer the phone.

It definitely sucks that they have no online ability at all, but credit where it's due, I just called them, on hold for *only* 39 minutes, and the person who answered was courteous and they were able to fulfil my request which was just issuing statements. But, this thing should be 3 clicks away on an online account these days.

We have been waiting 12 weeks now to release a small amount of equity from our rental property. Initially agreed deal was seemingly changed as the UK political world went into meltdown and despite our application being submitted well before. Agreed timescales are never adhered to. Our planned works are now on hold and we are suffering unnecessary financial loss due to the unreasonable amount of time taken. We were given a 24 hour resolution timescale yesterday and lo and behold we have heard nothing.

Going back 12 months we had similar issues when they undervalued our properties rental despite us having an agreed, signed tenancy for a much higher amount. This meant another change in offer at a very late stage meaning we missed the stamp duty relief buy 10 days costing us more money and leaving us short on expected cash from equity.

They did have very attractive deals which suited our situation but had a I read the reviews prior to committing I would have looked elsewhere. They haven't even claimed their Trustpilot profile so i'm not even sure they care what customers think of their service and business process. I have reached out on LinkedIn but alas zero response from experienced BDM's and Sales Managers.

In summary - attractive rates but don't go there...

If no stars was an option they get it, I've been attempting to pay off the mortgage for 4 days now, their website has incorrect contact details & incorrect payment limits, their payment system's are so archaic they don't follow modern fiscal practice. Their telephony system must have been built by noah whilst out of his mind on LSD. It's randomly inconsistent with the options ensuring you'll literally spend hours on the line that either randomly cuts you off, goes into loops or asks you for up to 6 types of data to authenticate you, i've built secure rooms for banks that require less.
This place is run by inept & incompetent clowns & I'll be happy to leave it behind never to return to it ever again.
By avoiding it, you'll skip a world of pain people.....

Tragic customer experience.
Try paying money off your mortgage - no details listed on the website. you just have to hope the person you speak to on the phone is giving you correct details (after waiting an hour). then paying via card £30k per day maximum - BMS take days to allocate the payment against the balance resulting in £100's of interest charges.. poor service - lack of technical portal etc. avoid

Terrible. I’ve been trying to close a dormant account for six weeks, still not completed. They have very strict criteria for supporting documents and require them certified by a small list of acceptable organisations. Only Lloyds Bank Group (who are closing 133 branches in 2022) no other banks, solicitors (whose fee will be half of the remaining balance!) not the Post Office or others who used to do this. Won’t communicate by email! Everything in the post! Weeks go by! Avoid at all costs!

This is really terrible company. Please reed all the reviews before taking mortgage with them. I did not and now am paying very heavy price. They charge 6.9 percent interest and will not help us n any way. I rung them to discus and their customer service lady was just sarcastic. She said the only advice she can give me is to find another mortgage with someone else! What do you say! They are proper sharks!

Honestly shocking, the worst customer service ever! The person that has spoken to me over the phone today was so rude without any reason. Surely as soon as my mortgage comes to the end of the terms I will take it elsewhere!! This is just so wrong! And as this is not the first time so perhaps this will bring awareness for some improvement!

This is the most outdated bank in the whole world, and will hopefully close down soon. They can either send a statement by standard post which can take 5 days (or more) or by fax.... By the time the statement arrives, the actual outstanding amount will change. And they refuse to issue a statement at a future date even with a fixed interest rate.

These people are total charlatans and these days, can't really bothered to deal with customers at all. They have ruined my credit score for the want of a phone call.

For some reason they didn't take the correct amount on my direct debit this month and I got a letter saying that I am in £1.76 of arrears. Phoned to query what happened and after half an hour was none the wiser ! Paid the amount which wasn't a big deal but the agent wasn't able to say what had happened or if it would happen again. I will say though that they used to be a very good lender. ..... Update the same agent just phoned me back and said that I would have to phone back in 5 days to change my direct debit and that he didn't know if the same thing would happen again. .....2nd update - someone who actually knew what they are talking about phoned back and was able to sort things out. Hopefully further stress avoided but BM really need to sort themselves out...

My partner recently (six weeks ago) paid off her mortgage with this company. Despite being informed by letter that we would receive the property deeds within a week, they have still not arrived. Getting any information over the telephone is impossible, what a shambles.

Echo all the complaints made by all borrowers - similar issues re phones not answered, errors.. etc etc . They are the worst. Complaints handling is NON EXISTENT at best.

the worst mortgage provider in the market, down valued a property I was buying by 25%, and when I wanted to renew my mortgage valued the property at £0 as walls were not insulated even though the walls and celling were insulated, house was refurbished and heating system and windows and doors were upgraded. AVOID AT ALL COST.

Steve the surveyor took a massive number 2 in a house which he surveyed and didn't flush it...nice. Then down valued it £36k. Thank you for your service.

Avoid at all cost. I tried to pay a lump sum off my mortgage and I was given the incorrect account details of where to send the funds too. 3 out of 4 staff members confirmed that the account details I had been given were correct. My money went missing for 5 days. They did uphold my complaint and gave me £60 as compensation. Woo Hoo!! This was the second time I had cause to complain. Poor customer service, a different answer depending on who you speak to. They just cant seem to get it right. Even the complaint managers don't have a clue. I would certainly never recommend this company.

It’s just NIGHTMARE don’t have the mortgage with Birmingham Midshire. It won’t be renewed your mortgage without broker then they will charge you a lot of product’s fee again. They didn’t have online system, it won’t send you offer package even you’re existing customer? and they will charge you very expensive rate than what they’re advertising on the market place. I just keep blaming my first mortgage advisor being mad why he was recommended Birmingham Midshire.

Just need to look at the appauling shameful rating to see what this dreadful society is about.
Simply put they won't help, they don't help and in fact have no intentions of working out an amicable affordable solution.. Sell your home and give us back our money is the policy. Don't fall for the spiel about standing by you because when the chips are down folks they pull the plug without any consideration

They are a terrible company. If you agree a fixed 2 year rate, you have a right to expect that your price will stay the same for that period.

Instead, they have increased my cost and said it is due to a change in computer systems. That does not mean that you have to increase customers costs!

Ombudsman here I come!!!
