An off site car rental company. but picked up as required and then dropped off outside terminal rather than in the car park which is a bit away.
this is a no frills service, the cars are older and banged around a bit. but they are serviced, clean and the service is laid back and effective.
dont think i would use any other company

Everything went perfect. They were waiting for me as arranged, took me to the car. I refused the toll reader thing which in the past led to huge discussions with other providers. They informed me that I would be liable for the automatic tolls which are fine as I have family in Portugal that can pay for it (if you don't, it can be tricky to pay these after you leave the country). I returned the car 2 weeks later and that was it!

Such a change from my previous experiences renting a car in Faro.

I've rent a car based on reviews. It was the only company who got such a good star rating. And never regret. The car was old but I haven't got any issues at all and they only charged what they have to. Be aware of the toll which cost daily or 18.50 for the whole trip. Overall service was really nice,no hidden costs. The company based outside the airport,but we've been picked up straight away. When we returned a car it tooks around 5 minutes for them to check and sign all the paperwork. First time ever was such a quick service. Would definitely use them again

Hired a car in the Algarve for a month last year in August, activated the tolls service which means you pay a daily fee and then any tolls will be debited on your credit card one week after you return your car.
Not only I paid the daily fee for the week, the tolls have actually been debited from my credit card as supposed to and the funny thing comes now where1 year later I receive a letter here in the UK from the Portuguese tolls company saying if I don't pay another 70 eur which is 40 eur for the tolls plus another 30 eur in penalties they will take it further.
I just spoke with them over the phone to be told the tolls device that you pay a daily fee is only valid in the Algarve and not valid if you decide to drive up to Lisbon or Porto like I did so I got charged every time I drove in to the fast lane.
Not only this is ridiculous because there's only 1 tolls company in the country called via verde but this is obviously the only rent a car in Portugal who limits the use of the tolls device (will keep the mileage of their vehicles down which means their fleet of cars won't be renewed so soon) nice one :)
If I was told at the desk about this limitations I would never rent a car with them or I would simply not pay to activate the tolls and could pay cash at the tolls gate.
The lady told me next time I should read the mini mini terms and conditions properly...you know those that no one never reads.

Best Deal Algarve Car Hire: Excellent car hire experience from Faro airport. Nice clean cars, very good service and friendly staff, especially Claudio Domingos. No hassle and no pressure to take out extra unnecessary insurance. I would highly recommend them.

We had a Fiat Punto. The demages at the outside, the car had was not the problem. But there was a demage at the exhaust system, so it knocks at the bottom of the car. Back by the company, they told us - thats normal - you can drive. That was not the only problem. The engine was very poor and needs a lot of gas (8 - 9 l/100 km). So the car becomes very expensive.

second time New model Seat
Ibiza.
Both cars are nice and clean for me the best deal in the Algarve.

After a few years experience with tem, I always experienced
excellent service, trustworthy and helpful people and good cars with reasonable prices.

These guys were great. Our flight was delayed but just as we got to the meeting area they arrived in the bus. Everything was clearly explained. The car had some scratches on it but these were clearly pointed out to us. No problems when returning the car and no new scratches! Very slick and a quick bus ride back to the airport. Thanks

Shuttle transport from the airport without any problems. Taking and returning the car was very quick and without any troubles. No additional fees, troubles with credit card or attempts to sell us additional payed services. Staff was very friendly too.

We rent cars several times in a year and Bestdeal is definitely one of the best company we've ever rented a car from.

Excellent Service. The car we received was brand new only 700km's. The staff who meet you at the airport are punctual and extremely friendly. They are ready to assist in what ever way possible. My experience with Best Deal Algarve was hassle free, no nonsense.

Booked through car trawler, short walk to P4 hire desk and then a 5 min shuttle to car hire location - Got an upgraded car which was in great condition - speedy process as we were on our way within 10 minutes. Depot is just off the dual carriageway next to the airport so no issues with finding our way back. On return the guy was pleasant, checked the car and drove us back to the airport - £1000 deposit on CC refunded within 12 hours. Would use again as price was very good and its a good location.

I booked through Ryanair where the company was listed as offering a "meet and greet service" (now deleted). Since the flight didn't come in until 11.30pm I didn't want to mess about with a shuttle service. They did not mention a shuttle service in the follow up paperwork which said to "go to P4 and be taken to the desk". It was torrential rain and we waited at the P4 hire desk for 45 mins (including on trip back to the terminal to see if we could find out what was happening. Eventually the guy came over and said that he would have waited at the desk but it was raining so he chose to stay in the bus. This was the first time we'd heard about a bus. We had no choice but to take the bus to the (very scruffy) office. He then tried to charge us thirty euros for the late pickup even though it clearly stated in the paperwork that this had been included in the amount we had already paid. We spoke to his manager on the 'phone who said (and I quote) "we don't like to see our customers unhappy, I suggest you get a taxi back to the airport and hire from somebody else". Since it was now almost 2.00am I paid and took the car. The car was scratched on every panel and drove like a badly maintained Reliant Robin. The front tyres were barely legal which I only discovered after the long drive to Lagos in a thunderstorm. On returning the car in time for a 9.00am flight (another fee) the gates were locked until after the time arranged (we were about to leave the keys and get a taxi to the airport). There are plenty of hire companies to choose from at Faro. I strongly suggest you use someone else.

I have rented 3 times from Best Deal. I would say you need to take precautions such as damage photos or even a video. You need to walk to car park P4 at Faro airport to catch the shuttle bus. One time they were not there even though it was 6 mins before my hire time. When I called he gave me a story of how they had waited an hour for me? So if true why leave before my appointed time? Their premises are a short 5 minutes drive away. Their yard is a bit downmarket compared to the other hire companies, with car washing taking place right there. It's more functional than customer friendly. There only seemed to be one guy and the bus driver so a bit short on the ground. The guy who served me seemed to have his own issues, maybe he was overworked? Despite me standing there waiting, he excused himself and went away for 5 minutes. I refused the full insurance as I have annual excess insurance. Looking back in hindsight I wonder if that dictated the next sequence of events, because he then told me he only had a Nissan Micra although I had paid for a Seat Ibiza, a bigger vehicle. There were plenty of cars in the yard so I was a bit surprised and a little annoyed. We went out to check the damage and again in hindsight I wonder if he was trying to distract me as he went on this theatrical routine where he went and got a cloth and some spray and tried to polish off some marks on the car, while at the same time telling me it was suntan cream and would not come off. So why bother?
Anyway I took a video of all the marks/damage all around the car and it was just as well I did because on returning the vehicle without him having the damage sheet he went straight up to the car and said there was some new damage. There was no way the car had been damaged it had been sat in a basement garage most of the time. He said I would have to pay for the new damage even though the "new" damage was insignificant compared to all the existing damage. When I got my phone out and showed him the video, he then started to say he would not charge me but that the car was not theirs so it was not up to him. I then noticed that all the other vehicles had a best deal sticker in the back window except my micra. So even when I left to catch my plane I did not know if I would be charged or not which was a lot of stress. As it happened I never did get charged so maybe the video put him off I don't know. I could be paranoid but when I studied the video I noticed that his little episode with the polish was just before where he found the new damage so was he trying to distract me? I don't know.
Another weird thing about this place was that they asked me to book a return time. I discovered why when I returned the car as he was on his own and drove me to the airport in the same car I had returned leaving another customer returning a vehicle in the yard waiting.
So in summary they are very cheap in the searches but the cars and the service are a little worse and you should be very vigilant on the damage.
