App is nice for browsing only

App is nice for browsing only, I would not buy through it again.

When purchasing an artwork you are stuck between Artsy, Arta (their shipping company?), DHL (the carrier in my case), and the gallery. When something went wrong with the customs, as was the case for us, it was incredibly difficult to reach the right party as everyone claimed someone else was responsible. Artsy's automated updates on the delivery were wrong and unhelpful. Once you get hold of an actual person, they were helpful, but good luck getting there as they ignored emails and do not provide a phone number to contact them.

Artsy also charged us over €1200 to ship an artwork from the EU to the UK. If this was a dedicated art delivery service, this price would be completely justified, but it was literally sent as your box-standard DHL shipment, which would not cost more than a few hundred € for this route. I guess that's where they make their margin.

Use the app for browsing and then contact the gallery directly to facilitate the purchase.

Great works and give a chance to buy in low as well. Additionally if I saved a lot then give an excellent down price. It makes me happy.
Also response is very quick and kind to know what proceed. It makes me safe feeling.

I love how easy the app is to use

I love how easy the app is to use. I wish it was required for a certificate of authenticity to be uploaded or at least proof of one. It’s been a pain requesting them from galleries. Should be required to be sent with artwork or to be able to download.

I could not finish my purchase because of technical problems with the credit card processing system.

I could not finish my purchase because Artsy had problems with its payment system. A few days later, I was notified about this issue when the gallery contacted Artsy to resolve the problem. I have still not finalized the transaction with the gallery (Sobering Gallery in Paris).

Mai piu' artsy!!!

Ho acquistato tramite la piattaforma artsy in dicembre. Sono stato addebitato sulla carta di credito in eccesso e non correttamente e nonostante numerosi solleciti non hanno MAI fornito una risposta. Neppure la casella "protection" ha fornito risposta. Pessima esperienza. Non consiglio a nessuno questa piattaforma

I'm represented on ARTSY through a…

I'm represented on ARTSY through a gallery, and while it's a well-known platform in the art world, I feel that the visibility of artworks could be improved. The interface is user-friendly, and it's great to be showcased alongside other international artists.

However, discoverability is limited unless the gallery actively promotes the artworks. Without external marketing efforts, it can be challenging to generate strong engagement and sales.

Overall, a good platform for exposure, but it requires additional effort from galleries and artists to maximize its potential.

Shocking service

Shocking service, no one accountable. 20 days to get a response after waiting another 10! They didn’t inform all customs requirements needed until they found a buyer, delaying the whole process. The list goes on. Stay away from Artsy

Does NOT respond to emails + calls - BEWARE!!

On Dec 20, 2024, I took part in the Saatchi Collection: Auction In Aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity, (Part III).

I won SEVERAL lots (lots 66, 106, 107, AND 143), and my credit card was cleared on Dec 23rd. Unfortunately, nobody contacted me regarding delivery; in short, they took my money WITHOUT delivering the goods.

I wrote to Artsy on Dec 21, Dec 30, Jan 2nd, Jan 5th, Jan 8th, Jan 13rh, Jan 15th, Jan 20th, Jan 21, Jan 23. I even called them long-distance by phone 3 times during their supposed working hours. Unfortunately, NOBODY came back to be regarding delivery.

I gave them an ultimatum that, unless they would I would go to social media to vent my frustrations. I am still hoping that they can come back to me because I truly like the pieces I bought.

To all those who may think that I am lying, I CHALLENGE Artsy to provide evidence that I am lying and to sue me for defamation. I await your reply, Artsy.

In the meantime, BEWARE of dealings with Artsy! They are SCAMMERS that do NOT deliver!!
