Would be zero stars in possible. I brought the iPhone 16 on monthly credit, decided to opt in for trading my old iphone 12 in as it seemed convenient. 2 weeks later i get an email saying the trade in value had been reduced to £0.00, I of course rejected that value and then they charged my account directly with the value of the trade in, rather than putting onto the credit with the rest of the phone. This happened at the end of the month so it put me into overdraft.

They lie about the trade in and then refuse to give the old device back.

Hat alles super funktioniert. Habe mir die neue Apple Watch 10 gekauft und meine alte 7er verkauft. Am Freitag los geschickt und am Dienstag schon die Bestätigung des Geldes gehabt, super schnell und unkompliziert. Würde ich immer wieder so machen.

I have been an Apple user for more than 20 years, I recently used Apple’s trade-in service, and it was a complete disappointment. I sent in my phone, which was in great condition and fully functional, expecting to get some value back. Instead, after waiting for an evaluation, I received an email saying they would only recycle the phone and I wouldn’t receive any money for it. This was not at all what I was led to believe when I started the process.

There was no clear explanation as to why my phone was deemed worthless, and customer service offered no solutions or clarity. The entire experience felt misleading, as I was expecting a trade-in value, not for them to take my phone for free. I would have been better off selling the phone elsewhere or trading it in through a different service. I would definitely not recommend Apple’s trade-in program if you’re expecting any value back.

Sent in my Apple Watch 4 as an agreed trade in for a new Apple watch 10. The trade in value offered was £40. The watch has worked perfectly since purchase and was in very good condition with no signs of damage. I have had an email back saying they have revised the trade in value is now £0 because the back of the watch is smashed. This is categorically untrue unless it was damaged during postage due to the flimsy packaging they sent me. It is only £40 so it isn’t really the money it’s the feeling of being scammed by Apple’s partners and this clearly is a pattern not a one off. It’s time for customers who feel aggrieved to highlight this to Apple and the national press to get the story some traction. I will certainly be making as big an issue of this as I can. It’s time Apple realised this could and should cause them reputational damage

I recently sent my apple watch to trade in. I made sure to unpair the watch as required. I then get an email saying they cant pair the device and it was sent back to me. When I get the watch back its paired with something but nothing I own. So now its useless and I loose £165. They must have paired it an not realised. Don't use them you can risk everything

I've used this service for my last few trade ins with great success after a few poor experiences with other recyclers. My phones have always been in cases with minimal damage (just minimal expected wear and tear) and so used this service to trade in my iPhone 15 Pro Max against my new iPhone 16. Was offered £570 on the basis that it turned on, was not cracked / significantly scratched or water damaged and was fully functional. The battery was at 95% health (the phone was just less that 11 months old) and as far as I could see - completely unmarked. Not the best offer on the market by some margin, but previously was always solid and reliable service. Their estimate upon delivery? £145!! I have photos of my phone before I sent it off and it was unmarked, so can only assume that they've damaged it upon receipt for the sum to be reduced so much. I'll wait for it to come back to see, but now have the inconvenience of having to pay up £570 to cover the promised cost of trade in. At least with third party platforms there's someone to speak to, but this is typically Apple now - you can speak with someone but they have no connection with the process or the company that Apple have subcontracted this out to: no right of appeal / no right to reply. I'd not waste your time with this service - something has changed and there are far better options out there!

Okay - UPDATE! After this appalling experience I did a bit of digging - Apple now sub contract their trade in service to UNIPART LOGISTICS - so that's the con artists here, and I'll be adding this to they reviews too.

Further - I then sent my iPhone (apparently worth £145 according to APPLE / UNIPART?!) to MAZUMA MOBILE who agreed it wasn't perfect but paid out £500 without question. I don't think you could say much more here. the Apple trade in / Unipart logistics service is beyond appalling, it's tantamount to fraud!

...another con. Got valuation of £50, sent in Ipad, then they advised it was zero value due to "defects"....it was pretty much mint!!...wish I had read thses reviews first!!

After reading these reviews I got worried but Im happy to say I didnt face any issues. I traded in my Iphone 12 pro max and got a quote from apple of £240, however I chose to trade in for an apple gift card of £220 instead. Everything got done within a week and I received my apple gift card of £220 via email this morning.

I agree with what everyone is saying. Don’t use the trade in, go to an Apple Store and trade in direct with Apple. My daughter was given a trade in price of £190 from Apple online we sent it off to the 3rd party and we got a revised amount of £65. The phone was in mint condition and she was not aware of any problems.

Recently I have upgraded from my 4 years old iPad Pro 12.9’ to the new iPad Pro M3. The iPad has screen protector and with expensive Otterbox case, it has been look after and as new, . I have used the Apple estimated trade-in system and the estimated value is £395. However, I have received an email from Apple trade-in department said:

Bent device without evident screen lifting, Incorrect product description or serial number

It is totally untrue. There is no U-Turn after you have sent the device to them and they will say what they want about the device conditions. If you have requested the device to be sent back, you might receive with the faulty device because they told you that you have sent the incorrect product or serial number. I will reject the revised trade-in refund and requested the device to be returned. I have learned my lesson and will not use the trade-in system for the future.

Was told my IPAD trade in would be about $95. I sent it back as per instructions. The IPAD looked perfect to me. Got a revised trade in value of $0! said there were streaks on the screen. NEVER doing that again.

There is no way Apple cannot be aware of what is happening here. It is a great product but shamed by this trade in partner. Like everybody else on this platform they tried to get my iPad at a ridiculous cheap price suggesting some spurious fault. The so called fault was not present when I sold it to a high street outlet at four times the price they quoted me.

I cannot believe that Apple partners with this company whose conduct is frankly dishonest.
They quoted me a price for my Apple Mac laptop based on a serial number that I provided. When I sent them the device, they spuriously claimed it had a different serial number (which was absolutely untrue) and that the value was therefore only 20% of what they’d quoted. Furthermore, they invented mysterious faults with the device, coming to the conclusion that my device was worth £0. I would not accept this. Endless emails backwards and forwards finally resulted in a £40 voucher, though this is a fraction of what I should have received. Their conduct was utterly suspicious.

I wanted to trade in my IPad Pro. Apple quoted me £195 and I opted to take a credit on my account. I sent my iPad to Likewize. They inspected it, and told me it had a value of £0, because the screen didn’t work. They offered me £40. They sent me a picture of my iPad demonstrating that the screen didn’t work - the picture showed that it did, so I asked them to return it. The iPad arrived today. I restored it from a backup and it works perfectly.
What on earth are Apple doing working with Likewize? This feels like some sort of scam to me. Offering £40 for something that Apple value at £195.
Avoid this “service” like the plague and tell all your friends and family to do the same!

Read the criteria for tablet part exchange very carefully and sent my IPad 11 off for the offer of £365. Surprise surprise was offered £0 because the edges of the screen were slightly yellowed. No mention of this in the criteria so asked for my old tablet back and returned the new one. Very poor

I never received any emails in regards to my iPad being received or the revised valuation. It was only when I checked the status online I saw the £100 trade-in was revised to £25, for a non existent screen problem, which seems the norm having read the other reviews. The iPad was returned with scratches to both the rear and the front screen. It had never been out a case from new and was immaculate when I sent it. I’m surprised Apple would associate themselves with such a poor untrustworthy company.

THE BAD:

1 - TRADE-IN PACKAGING KIT: Was a standard size & far too small for my IPad Pro, 1st Gen. The cardboard looked too thin for protecting an expensive & heavy device from being damaged in the post. But I kept the original box, which was far more robust, so I used that.

2 - iPAD WAS "LOST": Device was sent via the Post Office 48 tracking service. Yet Likewize sent me an automated email to say that they never received it.

THE GOOD:

1 - iPAD "FOUND": After emailing my concerns about my "Lost" device, I received a reply within 2 hours. They confirmed that it was received.

2 - VALUATION: Within 7 working days, I received a valuation of £95, which matched the original quote. An electronic voucher was sent to me on the same day.

Overall, fairly good service, but communication could be better. I'd also recommend that one uses the original box for your device, rather than the packaging supplied.

Like many of the other reviews I had an iPad trade in reduced from £110 to zero because of screen burn in. I knew that this wasn’t true as I’d had the screen condition verified at an Apple Store before sending it off. I was fully expecting this to be a scam and to receive someone else’s broken iPad on return - but here is where it gets interesting. I’ve just had the iPad back and it has been returned in the same, unopened packaging that it was sent in. They couldn’t even be bothered to take my returns label off the front but just slapped a new one over the top.

I suspect that Apple are offering money on machines types that their trade in partner won’t take. What is fraudulent - and something for trading standards - is saying that they have checked the machine and it’s faulty, so they will keep it for £0, which in this case is a proven and obvious lie.

Like many of the most recent reviews my IPad Pro trade in offer was reduced to £0 with what appears to be a standard rejection reason - LCD burn in.-There is none. - In fact the image on my 2020 Pro looked very close to the M4 and screen itself was immaculate. It does indeed feel like a con.
