Although initially frustrated and disappointed with Alton Sports sending me out an equivalent item of running shoe due to what I had ordered being out of stock or unavailable they did redeem my faith when a gentleman called Scott contacted me directly and made good what was a disappointing purchase. He approached me with excellent customer skills and resolved the matter by compensating with an alternative option to ensure I went away happy. He is obviously a valuable asset to this company.

First time customer - Ordered 2 pair of trainers Monday Evening, received Thursday morning. One pair as described and other out of stock . However, received updated version and a few goodies. More than happy with substitute. Will have no hesitations in using this company again, first class service.

Great first time purchase from this company. Ordered over the weekend and product arrived as described with added extras and on time.

After reading the reviews I was a little unsure about ordering from here, but I took a chance and couldn't fault them. The item was exactly what I ordered and the delivery was really fast, ordered Tuesday afternoon, delivered Thursday afternoon. No issues with communication either.
I'd order from Alton Sports again.

Alton Sports advertised a shoe online that they didn't have. They knowingly sent me a different pair that was 30% more expensive than other UK websites. I asked them why they had sent the wrong pair and they said that many customers didn't mind. Initially they would not refund me the postage to send back the pair I didn't want and never ordered. The they sent me a postage label that didn't work and wasn't recognised by the post office. Absolutely useless. I would never buy anything from these clowns again.

I ordered trainers that weren’t fulfilled after two weeks. After a further week trying to contact them by phone, I made contact with Alton Sports and they apologised for the delay and offered a refund which I accepted. That refund was processed quickly. I have accepted that the problem was due to the current pandemic causing supply issues. So I have amended my order to a three star, as I still believe customer service should include a phone line where orders are being actively taken. And a proactive explanation where orders are being delayed. But clearly an honest company.

Similar to many other recent reviews, I ordered a pair of On Cloudflow Men's Road Running Shoes on Sunday, received the Royal Mail dispatch notification on Monday, however, all the tracking link shows is that Royal Mail has never received the item! Upon querying this with "customer services", Kieron advised that this is due to a backlog of many weeks worth of mail at their local delivery office in Four Marks. Having spoken with Royal Mail customer services, they have confirmed this is not the case and they have never received the parcel. (Similar theme to many other reviews.) Fortunately, I paid through PayPal so I have raised a case via the Resolution Centre there requesting a refund. A terrible shame as, in person, Alton Sports have always been very good in the past, however, their online offering is diabolical and borderline fraudulent.

I have attempted to buy a pair of on-cloud rock walking boots on the 2nd February. Needless to say they have not arrived now the 10th Feb. Appears on RM tracking the item was despatched by Alton to RM the following day. I emailed customer services and got a prompt response from Kieron who informed me that the package appears to have gone missing, he further commented that they now don’t have the item in stock and would send out a replacement by specially delivery. Ok fine. I thought I would check on the website and found that I could order and pay for the same item (with some freebies thrown in), which is apparently out of Stock!! Alarm bells!! I since emailed Kieron informing him of my discovery and requesting a refund. Guess what No reply. I try and support independent businesses, however clearly they don’t deserve it.

A really disappointing service - I ordered a pair of Brooks Bedlam in yellow. When the parcel finally arrived (long after the indicative time frame given) I was excited to open it. However, my excitement was short lived as in true Sainsburys fashion my shoes had been substituted with an alternative pair! Had I wanted a different colour or later model, I would have ordered them. The really annoying thing is they had my contact details (email & phone number) and could have called or emailed to offer an alternative. Instead, I am now left with the hassle of being both out of pocket and the hassle or arranging their return. Thanks Alton Sports, never again!

Bought something but it didn't arrive, terrible customer service, they said it must be lost in the post and didn't have any more of the trainer I purchased even though they were still listed for sale on the website. Said I'd get a refund but this still hasn't appeared. Go elsewhere!

I cannot fault the service I have received. I ordered my new Brooks Adrenaline 21 on Mon and they’ve just arrived (Thurs) with lots of freebies. To be honest I was a bit wary of ordering as there are some not so good reviews on here, but I can only speak from experience and I would not hesitate in recommending Alton Sports. I belong to a running club and I shall be putting a post on the FB to recommend you...Best get running now🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️

Excellent service. New Brooks trainers at a great price - arrived 4 days after ordering with all the free stuff. Very pleased.

Unfortunately the Brooks trainers that I ordered got lost in the post, however I was contacted by immediately by a lovely guy called Kieron. Kieron went through a range of options and he was really patient. I didn't want to go elsewhere, I also have a business that is struggling through a PANDEMIC, so I wanted to offer support. They came up trumps. Thanks guys. I would recommend.

Kinda weird really. Bought a new pair of expensive hoka kaha boots on the 29th December. Then nothing.....

Looked at the reviews of the shop and started to think what have i done.

Had an email to say that money had been taken, no confirmation from alton sports. Tried emailing, tweeting, enquiry form.

Then as stated on there website they arrived out of the blue 4 days later. With new years in between.

With the free stuff also. Boots are lovely and ideal and delivered as claimed by Royal mail.

Bizarre. Can't fault the service. Just no personal touches in there like hi, thanks for your custom and there on the way!!

I will stick to other known websites next.

After seeing the negative reviews on Trustpilot, I had decided not to proceed with my order but felt that I should contact Alton sports directly via their email page as the ratio of likes/dislikes seemed incongruent.
I received an email explaining that there had been extenuating circumstances and just bad reviewers.
I was grateful they had taken the time to explain the situation.

I ordered trainers off the online store as Xmas present. I then read some unfavourable reviews and as these were a Xmas present, I was worried. I found the same trainers elsewhere and tried to cancel my online order. I rang the shop in Farnham and although they don’t deal with online orders, Michael was very helpful. He also contacted the online store on my behalf to expedite my request to cancel the order. Within a few hours my order had been cancelled and I’d been refunded. A good customer service experience and I would consider ordering again

DON'T EVER USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! Wow! I don't know where to start. Just terrible customer service (non-existent) eventually culminating in them cancelling my order without even telling me!!!
Ordered trainers over 6 weeks ago to at first be told there would be a delay and as an apology they would send me a 'winter safety' pack free of charge (never received!) ... I had no issues with this.
However, after being told that they would keep an eye on my order and make sure I received it ASAP I never heard another thing from them! The so called delivery date came and went 2 weeks ago and having sent several emails and messages through their website I finally received a response 3 days ago (almost 2 weeks after my initial email to them) with a half hearted apology and offering to cancel and refund my money! WHY WOULD I WANT A REFUND!!?? ... I JUST WANT MY TRAINERS!!!
After replying, saying how disappointed I am with this response being the only way they seem fit to solve the complaint and that I just want my trainers ASAP as have been waiting for so long, they then went and cancelled my order anyway without any forewarning at all and no contact to say what they were doing (just an email from PayPal).
I love supporting the smaller, local & independent businesses and have recommended people including my wife to this company before...but sadly this will be the last time where this company are concerned and I'll be making sure that my friends and acquaintances know to stay well clear as well!

Die Rückgabemöglichkeiten bei bestelleter Ware über die Plattform Fruugo und dem Händler AltonSports ist im Gegenzug zu anderen Plattformen (z.B. Amazon) mehr als ungenügend. Mit das schlechteste was ich bisher gesehen habe. Ich bestelle seit 20 Jahren im Internet, aber solch ungenügende Hilfe Seiten habe ich selten gesehen.

I hate to post a bad review about an independent business, as I always try and support them when buying my running kit, but having ordered a pair of Brooks Transcend shoes with a 3-5 day delivery I still have not received them three weeks later.

I could perhaps cope with that if Alton Sports hadn't ignored two emails asking for an update and with no information on their website. I also sent a request through Paypal (which I paid through) for an update before escalating it to the Paypal Resolution Centre to get a refund. But I didn't get a response at any point.

I realise that with Covid-19 such businesses may not be operating as normal, but when all communications go unanswered over quite a long time, it leaves me wondering how they manage to retain loyal customers.
