Be careful with this company
Be careful with this company. My experience is very similar to a number who have already given a negative review (Richard) and those who used to be supported by STL. I am not in my case pointing to the engineer who came and did the last service but rather the company and team who harass the life out of you with calls, texts and emails. In my case over a supposed limescale filter that they recommended at cost circa £200 which they would give a discount on. In the ensuing emails I am now being told it has to be fitted because of changes in the British standards. I am also told that my warranty is at risk and that I purchased the warranty from them. They then went on to say If I don’t get the work done then no warranty - that their recommendations have to be done!! This was all false and inaccurate. I called Vaillant who confirmed that my warranty was with them and it’s provided on the basis I have a service done every year (I have) but also said it can be any registered company. As regards the standards - they can and do change but that does not mean you ‘have’ to have work done - it’s optional! Of course if anything happened it might become an issue but take limescale for example - I don’t live in a hard water area and my previous Vaillant boiler worked until it was taken out - over 20 years! My water hasn’t changed so why would my new system be a problem? It won’t!! Anyway, as I said please be careful with anything quoted and insisted on by the company and also where they are saying that the warranty is with them - you can check with Vaillant if needed and like me you might find they are not being accurate and warranty in my case is with Vaillant. I am going to look for another service provider as my trust with this company has now gone.
Update - I spoke to Vaillant and had it confirmed my warranty is with them and not this company. I am still receiving calls, texts and emails saying my boiler needs its service. It doesn’t as I have had it done by someone else. The company need to fully understand what customers have bought as I never had a warranty with them and only Vaillant.
