Zoa Energy Solutions Ltd. (Very apt name)

Well, what can I say. There have been hiccups with Zoa Energy during the months spent starting the ECO4 free Government funded fuel/comfort improvement system.

However, overall, there is little room for complaint following their responses to difficulties arising.

From the very start, Zoa have been helpful, especially in dealing with the inevitable paperwork. (It is a Government funded initiative, after all!).

The fact that my house has benefitted from numerous improvements, including a brand new Worcester Bosch boiler, (including installation). Complete reinsulation of the loft space, cavity wall insulation and reboarding of the loft floor (for which I did have to make a contribution). 2 Window vents and 2 extractor fans have also been fitted. A heated electric panel has also been fitted in the bedroom, which will save heating the whole house.

The 2 most important features of this work are 1. Drastically improved comfort levels within the property. 2. Greatly improved fuel economy.

I could not ask for more than that. And in my position, I consider myself extremely fortunate.

Any reader of this review may ask "What difficulties arising?".

Despite great communication levels from Zoa, there was a problem which arose from from the floor reboarding, whereby the original chippies scheduled to fit the floor, had to cry off due to injury. The second team employed by Zoa, were incompetent, to put it mildly. All made very difficult, by Zoa suddenly becoming incommunicado.

An email to the CEO very quickly rectified that problem, and Zoa's second attempt has resulted in a job far better than I had originally expected.

So, all round Zoa Energy Solutions get a 10/10 from me.

In particular, I would like to compliment both Liabah and Alicia for their involvement in my experience with Zoa.

Don't use them

Don't use them , there work is very bad and messy ,iv had to get another electrician and plumber come in and write a report, I'm just waiting to report the company, They pressured me and my husband at 10, 30 in the evening to write a good report, we are both unwell,

These guys work hard

These guys work hard, and they get the job done. They insulated the loft, which was a lot of work, and fitted a new boiler. We had a couple of issues with the to Arial and the boiler, but all resolved now.

Poor customer service, bad workmanship

Poor customer service, lack of communication to resolve any issues, damage to property, attempts to avoid any liability, Not displaying any courtesy or basic manners, very unprofessional overall.

I have recently applied for an Eco4 grant and had chosen Zoa Energy solutions as the contractor to help me through the application and complete the work required, this involved the installation of a new boiler and also measures to insulate the loft and install trickle vents to windows. The process to get you to sign up,provide details and book you in once the grant has been authorized appears very sufficient and helpful, However! Once this has been agreed the customer service and professionalism declines.

The first part of the process is to have surveyors around to assess and grade your energy rating, this to identify what measures are needed. Two people arrived at my home,None displaying identification or offering to show any, Once inside one of them had proceeded to go up my stairs without asking for permission, luckily no-one was in my home at that time?, however! their could have been someone in bedrooms, bathroom ECT. I felt this to be very unprofessional and lacking in basic manners.
After receiving confirmation of the grant the installation date was confirmed, again the information received about the process seemed very professional, stating there would be a project MGR on-site to co-ordinate and make things run smoothly, this was not the case, i was advised i would have my insulation completed on the first day and then the boiler fitted on the second day. Both of these arrived on the first day, with the insulation guys turning up at noon, I was unaware if there was any project MGR? The Heating engineers appeared fine and cracked on with what they had to do and had taken time out to communicate with me, The other guys had walked into my home with no thought of protecting my floors/carpet, given that it was wet and muddy outside and all three had proceeded to walk over my carpeted areas, I had to inform them of this, they had then put a dirty role of material down.
Again none had displayed any identification.
Whilst these guys where still completing the insulation i was asked to sign of documents to state that things had been completed to a good standard, i felt pressured and rushed into doing this and in hindsight shouldn't have, i had asked the question as to why they wanted to replace my insulation as i had had this done recently and felt it was not necessary, they insisted i have it done as i could not receive a boiler if not, i have since inspected this and in my opinion it is far inferior to what i had and is a lot thinner, i am assuming this may be to increase the grant allowance and profit margins. whilst in my loft i had noticed the water tanks had been made obsolete however they had been left with water in them, that will now go stagnant due to not being drained off.

I had three trickle vents installed on older windows as all the rest are recently new and have them installed, the guy wanted to cut into the new ones initially, he had proceeded to cut cavity in the others and fit the vents, just as this team where leaving i had observed the mess he had made to my window and had called him back from his vehicle, he had tried to reassure me that all was fine and palm me off, despite me pointing out that my window frame had a big piece missing where it had cracked off, he had also cut into my frame as well as the sash,this weakening my windows and integrity He did not appear to be bothered and had provided me with his superior (Moims) Telephone number.

I have contacted Moim who had advised me that the guy who manages this issue is working remotely? I asked Moim if this person had access to a mobile or laptop, this to no avail, i was asked to @mail my complaint and the guy working remotely would deal with this. (I was informed by the plumber and also the insulation guys that Moim who i was on the phone with was the the person to deal with?) I personally think Moim was trying to pull the wool over my eyes and delay in dealing with my complaint.

Since then i have forwarded pictures and a written complaint to this company and have sent pictures of the damage, I have had a second opinion from a local window manufacture who advises my windows are now going to fail.
The waste disposal guys who had turned up to move my perfectly good loft instillation that had been pulled out refused to take the old boiler away that had been left in my garden, he appeared quite abrupt and stated it was not his job, he would not wait for me to contact the company.

I have contacted Zoa energy solutions since on several occasions, despite this no-one has responded to resolve my complaint.

This company are useless beyond a joke…

This company are useless beyond a joke they fitted a fan in my bathroom and vented it into my loft causing the insulation to go mouldy and my ceilings to go black and I contracted pneumonia they have been back 6 times to remedy this and its still happening, they organised a government inspection and it failed the inspsaid he had not seen such shoddy work in the 20 he had been doing the job I am severally disabled and this is not good enough they are ignoring me now so I have got trustmark government body involved to sort this out

Loft insulation and External wall insulation

From start to finish the service was excellent. Zain was the person with whom I dealt with. Nothing was too much trouble. He provided me with a superb team of workers to carry out the agreed works (loft insulation and external wall insulation). The team went above and beyond - staying late to accommodate. If I was not sure what the next process was I immediately contacted Zain who was more than happy to explain. Zain was completely transparent in his communication. I am so pleased with all the works carried out which was of high standard (neighbours and passerbys have commented on how nice the house looks - that is down to Zain and his team).

I would not hesitate in recommending Zoa Energy - this is the company to trust.

To add recently I had an Inspection of the works - the Inspector commented “it looks good - they did a nice job”.

Thank you very much Zain & the team.

Ramaza and his team
Both worked really hard all day...to take out the old boiler and fit a new one...
They took time to explain to me how the Boiler worked and all the parts of the mobile thermostat worked as I had never had one before...
Im looking forward to being able to turn my heat from my bed room before i have to get up....
Each radiator was fitted with a smart valve that would detect if someone was in the room and heat this accordingly...
Its amazing to have a warm house after a few months of having no heating...
Thank you for your hard work..its much appreciated...

Disappointed - not a customer focused experience

Updated review as I was asked to review when works were mid complete and the team were I'm full flow on site.

The team turned up around midday when 9am-ish was communicated prior.
The team were unaware that the windows I had were due to be replaced in 3 weeks and were metal framed.
I offered for the team to come back in 3 weeks and use the new windows with trickle vents as their ventilation evidence, this was rejected.
Instead we had to wait 5 hours for someone to turn up with essentially a multi tool.
I'm not sure why the team wasn't adequately equipped.
I was continually told it needs to be finished today for the scheme, I did ask "surely you've encountered over runs and delays before which have made this not possible?" such as today...

There was an alteration to the kitchen vent which was due to go out of a wall, instead I found a hole in the ceiling had been cut out. No communication on this. It was aesthetically a better option but the communication would have been nice.
I again experienced lack of communication from coming downstairs and seeing the team mid core drilling my decorated downstairs toilet, something that was admitted wasn't on the survey, but again, I found this out by seeing the wall being core drilled rather than any communication.

My 1 year old son was taken to his nans as the works were naturally invasive. The time was getting onto 5pm so I came downstairs to ask for an eta of completion, just to see the installation team sitting at the breakfast bar eating ordered in pizza. As an ex engineer myself, I don't think I'd have ever considered doing that in someone's home. Food breaks okay, but this felt a different level.
I advised that the upstairs works may need a return visit, as I didn't envisage this encroaching into the evening. I was told that the other team were on their way and we can discuss when they arrive.
There had been a start on the upstairs vent, which I presume was a power play to ensure works were completed in day no matter the time.
The team duly arrived at 5:45, they said the vents in the windows would only take 20 minutes, I begrudgingly agreed 6:30pm to be a finish time.
I came downstairs to start to clean up as there seemed to be a lot of watching and not much pro active thinking to finish and a lot of watching each other work. The team did say they'd clean up, but I just felt it required a tad of urgency.
The eventual finish time was 9pm and no urgency was shown.
From other reviews it's quite clear not enough time is allocated.
I was told that the team had a job in Manchester tomorrow, hence why it needed to be finished today.
I'm not sure why the customer has to suffer a late start and lack of tools.

The downstairs toilet fan finished by the drafted in team has a poor finish and has spoiled the room, which makes it even more disappointing this wasn't communicated in day. Thr trunking is run at mid height and at 45 degree across the ceiling. I have no idea why you wouldn't at least follow the coving.
The other two vents are okay.

The installed electric radiator (not sure why it's needed as all my radiators are over sized to run on a 50 degree flow temperature) is visibly not level and proven by a spirit level.

The downstairs light now does not work again. An issue the team had whilst on site.

No dust sheets were used throughout the installation, although shoe covers were worn.
Dust sheets I feel are vital to use in a home when drilling from my experience of leading national teams.
We spent an hour afterwards cleaning up, with more to be done tomorrow.

I'm sure the persistence around the trickle vents was to unlock more funding, slits were cut into the windows so I'm not sure what free space of ventilation this adds anyway, as it doesn't feel as though it's through ventilation.

I lead the trust pilot profile for a national company until recently, asking for a review mid install as I was today doesn't seem the way to seek genuine feedback from a task undertaken and felt quite awkward.

There's been no mention of minor works certification, so I will chase this tomorrow.

I'm really not a person to complain, but I feel very disappointed.
I feel the late start, the lack of information shared from the survey (frame material, potential of an apparent additional vent required in a toilet, which I don't think was required from over hearing communication) and lack of tools only effect the customer and the ignoring of the fact that evening working for invasive areas (kitchen and bathroom particularly) isn't respected and isn't right not fair.

2 star because the team were pleasant people, just clearly not experienced in how you approach tasks within the home.

Had some work done by zoe

Had some work done by zoe, on the government energy scheme, including loft insulation, new extract vents ,new radiator valves and new combi boiler, after they left at 10pm we found the following, the boiler was fitted on an old bit of contiboard, cut poorly into the plasterboard wall, they left a large hole where they resited the boiler, and holes all over the place, white silicon all around the external pipework, looks a mess, the hole outside where the old boiler flue came out was covered with a bit of 6mm mdf taken from my shed, the extract fan in the en suite blows the lights when turned on, we have discovered leaks to the pipework in the loft, and they failed to replace 3 of the radiator valves and 2 of the new ones were incorrectly installed, the loft insulation has been thrown down very poorly, all in all we wish we hadn't had the work done, we have to undertake a lot of repairs ourselves, the only reason I give 2 stars is because they cleared up well
