Spent 25 days here for my 200h Yoga Teacher Training 😊

I had a truly beautiful experience at YogKulam. From the moment I arrived, everything felt aligned the space, the energy, and the people.The school itself is well-maintained, the building and surroundings create a calm environment that allows you to fully focus and go inward. the rooms were always clean and comfortable while staying. What made this experience truly special was the teachers. The guidance was authentic, grounded, and deeply knowledgeable. I came here not only to learn yoga, but I left feeling more connected to my body, more open, more present. there was a real transformation, both physically and internally.

I completed my 200 hours in March and have nothing but praise for the whole team, every member of staff is friendly and supportive, the teachers are first class and the school is welcoming and very clean. I loved my time at the school so much that I am hoping to go back next year and complete the 300 hour course, I met so many lovely people and had an amazing experience , I highly recommend this school

I have just completed my 200hr YTT but I wish I could stay and do it all again! The programme is excellently organised with a clear timetable, and the teachers are fantastic - their knowledge and experience shines during classes. The school itself is in a beautiful location next to the hills on the quieter side of the river, and I always felt safe walking around the area and well looked after by all of the staff working at the school. The rooms are spotless, are cleaned regularly during the course and have hot water and fans (or AC if you prefer). There are water dispensers on each floor and I was really impressed with the great and varied meals produced every day by the kitchen staff. Lastly but certainly not least, all of the other students were a joy to be around and I am incredibly glad I chose to study at Rishikesh Yogkulam. I will not hesitate to return for further study. Thank you team!

This place is great. Management beautiful. Teachers fully professional. The hunger for knowledge was fully satisfied but as just did the 100 hours yttc will come back for more. Rooms are fine all fully working. They really care about cleanness.

My time at Rishikesh Yogkulam was deeply meaningful, with a program that beautifully integrated body, mind, and spirit. The quality of the teaching was outstanding!! Each instructor brought something unique while the program was thoughtfully structured so everything connected and built upon itself.
What stood out just as much was the underlying and unwavering sense of respect- for the practice, the students, and the traditions, values, and way of life that the program honoured- not just from the teaching staff, but from all of the supporting staff, which made the environment truly feel like we were part of their family.
The care and attention to every detail not only in the curriculum, but in the accommodations, food, planned events, everyday interactions, and overall experience were deeply appreciated.
There’s an authentic resonance to this experience that continues to influence my daily life and I am genuinely grateful for the opportunity. See you in 2027 🙏

My time at Rishikesh Yogkulam was amazing. The teachers are knowledgeable and so encouraging and friendly, the food was so good, the school itself was clean and well taken care of. I did the 300 hour YTT. It was challenging and required a lot of focus, and I felt fully supported throughout the entire process. It was difficult to choose a school, as there are so many to choose from, and I am so glad I made this choice. It was transformative. I am in Rishikesh still, two weeks later, integrating this experience, and I believe it will stay with me for the rest of my life. ॐ 🙏🏽 ॐ

I had a fabulous experience at Rishikesh Yogkulam and would definitely recommend the course. I did the 200 hour teacher training and it far surpassed my expectations from the wonderful welcome ceremony to the final certification, and I’m so grateful that I have come away with a far deeper understanding of yoga.

The teachers were all excellent as was the food, my room, the cleanliness, the WhatsApp comms and overall professionalism. I was particularly impressed with the anatomy teacher (who also gives excellent but painful physio), the meditation/philosophy teacher and the pranayama teacher.

The school arranged 3 trips : rafting, sunrise at a temple and a trip to Neer waterfall. The school also held a ceremony and story telling for the Shiva festival and we did some amazing sound healing, movement and dance sessions.

With the asana teaching , I so enjoyed learning more about Hatha as I practise Ashtanga. If you already practise Ashtanga, it’s worth knowing that the Ashtanga classes are focused on getting beginners through the primary series, and may not give you the adjustments to deepen your practise.

Indeed, Rishikesh Yogkulam is the best yoga school i have ever been to.Here I met devine form of feminine energy ,that helped me to rejuvenate and reform my life. I am back with a suitcase full of lifelong memories and knowledge. I must say they have Pleasant,clean,spiritual premises serving delicious healthy food. Thank you Yogkulam for giving me such a lovely and unforgettable memories..

Had a great experience at teacher training here. It was quite comprehensive - from asanas, pranayamas, meditation, and anatomy to philosophy as well. The teachers were knowledgeable and eager to share as well!
Everyone was very co-operative and made us feel at home.
The food was pretty much like home cooked simple food and the rooms were neat and clean.
I would highly recommend to disconnect from the regular city life and experience the peace and tranquility of this place.

It was amazing experience during prenatal training Program. Sessions were very knowledgeable and traditional format. Experience was nice.

After returning from the 200 Hr TTC program, I wanted to share an honest update about my experience.

During the training, I clearly shared that I was struggling in the asana classes as a beginner and found many postures difficult even with adjustments. The teachers were aware of this and told me it would improve with practice. It was also said during the training that we would get one month of online live classes after the program for continued support, which felt reassuring.

However, after returning, my experience changed because of how this support was handled. Although online live classes were mentioned as part of the offering, access was given only after submitting screenshots of reviews on multiple platforms.

I shared a screenshot of my Google review and explained that I do not actively use the other two platforms. I also said I was willing to post the same review there once it became visible. Still, I was told that access would not be given unless screenshots from all three platforms were shared. Because of this, access was delayed and I missed a class.

Even after getting access, I faced problems joining the online class. The link did not work. I was asked to wait and try again at a specific time, which I did, but it still didn’t work. After informing the team again, I did not receive any response during the class time. Since live classes are time-sensitive, the lack of timely support and follow-up was disappointing.

As my struggles as a beginner were already known, missing this continued support felt discouraging.

This changed the experience for me. What initially felt supportive started to feel transactional, which I did not expect from a yoga institution.

From a student’s point of view, it also felt that reviews were incentivized and closely tied to access and benefits, which can influence how feedback is shared.

I personally believe reviews should remain voluntary in learning experiences.

This is only my honest experience.
I am still grateful for what I learned and feel at peace with it.

The yoga course in Rishikesh, India, was truly enriching. The teachers were excellent, especially in Hatha and Ashtanga, which were my favorites. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the 24-day course is designed for those who really want to deepen their practice and become teachers.
It's important to come with good energy, because, let's just say, not all classmates always bring theirs
. Still, the teaching and
the experience in India made it completely worthwhile. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an intense and authentic yoga journey!

This yoga school is amazing. I did the 200h here and coudnt have wish for a better place! The staff is very friendly and always ready to help. The place is super clean and the food is very good. The best about this yogaschool is that they make you feel at home :)

There was a moment when I became ill, and the staff immediately checked on me to make sure I was alright. Their kindness and genuine concern touched me deeply, and I appreciate it more than words can express.

The structure provided by the school allows you to focus on your practice and absorbing all the knowledge.

I was genuinely surprised by the infrastructure and hot water in the rooms.

The teachers were knowledgeable and kind, they all are truly nice, good hearted people.

This was a challenging experience mentally because you are learning so much, psychologically you are dealing with your weaknesses and how to cope (everyone was struggling the first week, some with soreness of muscles, others socially because you are living with the group, ego…) physically because you are doing 2 hours and a half of yoga a day and sitting in the floor, detachment because you are fully immerse work and other responsibilities are put on hold.

I highly recommend Rishikesh Yogkulam, I am already planning my 300 hours trip back!

The people I met, from classmates to teacher to staff, have inspire me so much to become a better version of me. I am deeply grateful for the life long friends I made here and the life changing experience.

I had such an amazing experience at Yogkulam.
The teachers are so knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and helpful. The classes are well structured and the content is fascinating. Alignment class was probably my favorite subject (and the teachers were amazing, too). If you're wondering whether to add the ayurveda class, don't hesitate and do it. The teacher is amazing and the knowledge you'll gain is insightful and eye-opening.
The food was delicious and well balanced, too. If one of the students was sick, they also made sure he/she would get appropriate food, which is so nice of them.
The team is lovely and caring, special thanks to Nitika, who always made sure we were okay and took such good care of us.
The facilities are also very well maintained, the rooms are nice. For an October stay, the ceiling fan was enough for me, but if you suffer from hot weather, consider getting a room with AC.
As for the location, it is impeccable. Our balcony faced the jungle, so the view was amazing, and this also meant no traffic noises.
I am so happy I chose Yogkulam for my 200-hour YTTC and am already thinking of doing my 300-hour one here, too :)
10/10, I wouldn't have it any other way.

I attended the 200hr YTT at Rishikesh Yogkulam in March 2025 and left halfway through due to key parts of the program being miscommunicated or not delivered as advertised. I’m taking the time to write this review in the hope it helps future students make an informed decision.

Before enrolling, I specifically asked whether I could continue my Ashtanga Vinyasa personal practice, and the school responded—direct quote—“Ashtanga is part of the daily schedule and Primary Series is followed.” In reality, the classes did not follow the Primary Series in structure, pace, or content. In the first week, we never reached the finishing sequence, most vinyasas and some asanas were skipped, and classes included frequent breaks. It was a beginner-level, Ashtanga-inspired class—not a led Primary Series practice.

Groupings took no account of students’ prior experience. In one class, there were students with over a decade of practice and teaching experience alongside complete beginners. I understand the challenge of accommodating mixed levels, but it seemed the grouping was done for logistical ease rather than educational value.

Philosophy classes lacked structure and depth, often consisting of personal opinions, vague anecdotes, and factual inaccuracies. In one session, for example, the teacher spent 20 minutes sharing his views on which places in India were worth visiting with no reference to yogic philosophy or history. Foundational yogic texts like the Yoga Sutras were not meaningfully engaged with, and there was no continuity or clear curriculum. Sanskrit was also listed as part of the course, but no formal instruction was provided—only the occasional mention of asana names, as in any drop-in class.

There were also moments where teacher conduct left a bad impression. One teacher frequently made jokes at students’ expense and showed clear favoritism—offering support and hands-on adjustments only to a select few, while ignoring others. In another instance, a teacher became unusually defensive when asked for a second towel, reacting in a way that felt disproportionate and unnecessarily tense. These moments added to an atmosphere that didn’t feel consistently professional, kind, or welcoming.

When I raised these concerns, the response was dismissive and defensive. Rather than acknowledge any miscommunication, the school stated—again, quoting directly—“there was no mention of a daily full Primary Series practice.” This kind of backpedaling and refusal to take accountability was disappointing and left a lasting negative impression.

On the upside, some teachers were genuinely excellent—particularly in pranayama and anatomy—and the facilities were clean and adequate.

If your goal is a relaxed retreat and a certificate, you might be content. But for serious students looking to deepen an existing yoga practice, I recommend asking very specific questions and reading between the lines. The school presents itself well, but in my case, the student experience did not match the image it sells.
